“Name: Qi.”
“Gender… Female.”
Under the bus stop, the black-haired girl looked at the Identity Card gripped in her hand.
A Sun Hat hid most of her face, and she was unconsciously biting her lip.
The girl looked up.
Perhaps the noon sun was too intense, but her cheeks were slightly flushed, and a complicated emotion flickered in her crimson eyes.
Aside from the name and birth date being the same as her original ones, everything else about this Identity Card was completely different.
However, Qi had to accept that this was her Identity Card now.
Without knowing how it happened, she had become this person and gained a new identity.
Not only had her body shrunk, but even her gender had changed.
If she felt panicked and lost on the first day, she had to accept reality by now.
Qi let out a long sigh and put the Identity Card away.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t suspected she might have transmigrated to another world.
Unfortunately, the world was still the same — except for her.
She could even find information left behind by the former “Qi,” yet she couldn’t find a single trace of her current self’s life.
It was as if she had been spawned out of thin air.
Just thinking about this series of mysteries made Qi feel physically and mentally exhausted.
The black-haired girl walked away from the bus stop and headed toward a Coffee Shop across the street.
This shop was newly opened and not far from the School, and business was booming.
As for why Qi came here, she couldn’t explain it herself; she simply had a gut feeling.
It was as if the answer she sought was here.
“Welcome~”
The door opened, and as the wind chimes jingled, the clerk at the front desk looked over.
The black-haired girl in the Sun Hat looked very restrained.
Her well-behaved appearance made the clerk’s somewhat numb eyes light up slightly, like encountering a cute kitten during a busy workday.
“Little sister, would you like something to drink?”
“I don’t want to trouble you, miss. I just want to sit for a while. Is that okay?”
The black-haired girl returned a polite smile.
“Of course. If you want anything to drink, you can call for me anytime.”
After receiving permission, Qi thanked her and walked further into the shop.
The seats inside were almost full, with only a few scattered empty spots.
Facing the curious gazes near those spots, she felt like she might trigger some troublesome pick-up attempt.
After looking around, she spotted two girls getting up to leave a corner table by the window.
Qi seized the opportunity and claimed the small table.
Now that she had a seat, the black-haired girl waited for a while before feeling lost again.
“What am I even doing here…”
She grumbled under her breath while covering her face.
“It seems Xiao Qiqi is adapting quite well to her new life~”
A playful voice reached her ears.
Qi instinctively looked up to find a tall woman sitting across from her at some unknown point, holding a cup of steaming coffee.
“Do you need me to order a cup for you?”
The woman was beautiful — so beautiful that it was hard to look away.
However, the first emotion that rose in Qi’s heart was intense wariness.
Despite this being their first meeting, the other person acted as if they had known her for a long time, even calling her by name.
Even an idiot should realize what was happening at this point.
“You’re the one who turned me into this?”
“You’re quick to accept things,” the woman said noncommittally.
“Turn me back.”
“I can’t do that. I can’t let Xiao Qiqi continue to toy with other girls’ feelings.”
As soon as those words were spoken, a flash of panic crossed the black-haired girl’s eyes, feeling as though she had been seen through.
“I… didn’t do anything to them…”
“You just cheated them out of some ‘pocket change’?”
As she spoke, the woman flicked the Bank Card held between her fingertips.
At that, Qi fell silent.
This person likely knew her inside and out.
Seemingly unwilling to let the atmosphere grow cold, the woman sat up straight and cleared her throat twice.
“I can see the confusion in your heart, so let me introduce myself! My name is Luo Qing. Of course~ you can also understand me as God.”
“So, God turned me into this over such a small thing? That’s far too twisted,” the black-haired girl said, crossing her arms.
“I’m certainly not a good person, but there are plenty of people much worse than me. I shouldn’t be worth your attention, should I?”
Qi didn’t care to argue whether the other person’s claim was true or false; it made no difference to her.
“I just think you’re quite interesting. But I’m actually protecting you by doing this.”
The black-haired girl frowned slightly.
It was as if the woman was saying she would have eventually met a disastrous end.
Luo Qing took a sip of her coffee and continued, “I don’t really understand modern humans yet. But the main reason is that I wanted a daughter.”
‘If you want a daughter, give birth to one yourself,’ Qi muttered to herself.
But as her eyes met the woman’s gaze, she realized something and pointed at herself tentatively.
Luo Qing instantly wore a satisfied expression.
“Isn’t there a saying that’s been going around here lately? What was it… ‘Why go through labor when you can just pick one up?’ Besides, Xiao Qiqi has always wanted a mother, right? You can call me Mama now~”
“I never said such a thing!” the black-haired girl said through gritted teeth, suppressing the urge to turn around and leave.
This woman who claimed to be God was beautiful, but her mind didn’t seem quite right.
Seeing Qi’s reaction, Luo Qing waved her hand dismissively with a look of disappointment.
“Fine, fine. The child forgets the mother once they’re weaned. I spent a long time sculpting this body of yours.”
“No one asked for it!”
Luo Qing chuckled and slid the Bank Card over to Qi.
“It’s getting late. Go back. You need to listen carefully in your classes at your new School, okay?”
“Oh, right. I also left you a little gift. It’s a surprise~”
As expected, the high school she was currently attending was also arranged by this person.
Qi put away her Bank Card.
After calming down slightly, she looked into the woman’s eyes.
“I don’t care about your little gift. Do I still have a chance to change back?”
“Hmm… depends on my mood.”
“Goodbye.”
She didn’t intend to say more to this person.
It was futile anyway.
Her only goal for this trip was to clarify her current situation.
Holding the small Bank Card in her hand, the black-haired girl felt much more at ease.
Almost all of her assets were inside.
In fact, when she woke up in the School dormitory, she had been penniless except for a campus card and a brand-new phone.
Leaving the Coffee Shop, Qi didn’t return directly to the School.
Instead, she went to a nearby self-service bank; she hadn’t eaten lunch yet.
However, when she entered the correct password, the balance in the card had changed from the original 320,000 to exactly 362.92.
[I’ve already finished paying back the money you cheated from those other girls — no need to thank me!]
This line of text suddenly appeared on the ATM screen, accompanied by a digital sticker of Luo Qing striking a cool pose.
Seeing this, Qi’s fists clenched uncontrollably.
Her fingertips turned red, and she was even trembling slightly.
Was this the surprise? She really loved it (through gritted teeth)!
Finally, she weakly unclenched her fists and walked out of the self-service bank as if she were floating.
She might as well just go back and eat at the school cafeteria.
