“So, has Lady Nether Medium known all along that Mimi was my friend?”
The black cat pricked up her ears, glaring huffily at Luo Shuangyue, who sat between the three young maidens.
Clearing her throat with a fist to her lips, Luo Shuangyue felt she could explain.
“It wasn’t the right time. Jiu Ye, you know what our relationship with the Magical Girls was like back then. Wouldn’t telling you just have caused you unnecessary worry?” Spreading her hands, Luo Shuangyue wore an expression that screamed, ‘I did this all for your own good.’
The cat continued to stare at Luo Shuangyue; she still felt something was off.
But before she could press further, Xiao Mimi reached out and took her hand, gently stroking Jiu Ye’s cat ears. Jiu Ye softened instantly.
“Alright, alright. Sister Yue definitely had her own plans,” Xiao Mimi spoke up seriously on Luo Shuangyue’s behalf.
As a cat Magical Girl, she could easily distinguish whether those around her held good or ill intentions, and the malice radiating from Luo Shuangyue had never been particularly severe.
At most, it was the level of a mischievous prank.
Seeing her friend speak up for Luo Shuangyue like that, Jiu Ye could only huff and forgive Luo Shuangyue for hiding the truth.
What else could she do? Whether in the past or now, Luo Shuangyue was her direct superior, the second-in-command of Eternal Night!
When Monice was engrossed in her research and didn’t want to handle other matters, Luo Shuangyue was the absolute authority in Eternal Night.
“The past misunderstandings are resolved, and the Demons have been completely wiped out. What do you all plan to do next?” Luo Shuangyue took a sip of the coffee Xiao Mimi had prepared and asked the girls.
With the resolution of the Great Crisis, the source of the Demons had been completely cut off. From now on, Humans would no longer be threatened by Demons.
However, the power of Magic would not fade. The World Consciousness was already preparing to grant the next generation of children more or less the ability to use Magic.
Yet, their power would not exceed that of the current Magical Girls. At most, they might only reach the level of a First Bloom-Class Magical Girl.
“Finish college first, and then…” Xia Mo propped her chin in her hand, flashing Luo Shuangyue an ambiguous smile. “It’ll depend on whether a certain someone appreciates my abilities.”
“If I dared to refuse you, my mother’s sword would be at my neck in an instant.” Luo Shuangyue quickly raised her hands in surrender. “Though, the conditions over at my place aren’t great at all.” After resting for a while, Luo Shuangyue’s development of that World Fragment had already begun.
Monice and White Night had been helping her brainstorm lately, but for them, this task was still a bit difficult.
Everyone was doing this kind of work for the first time; nobody knew what to do next, so they had to rely on intuition.
In Luo Shuangyue’s most optimistic estimation, this was a long-term Mission that would span many, many years. It was possible that even after the world had changed completely, she wouldn’t have finished tidying up that small Space Fragment.
But she had plenty of time now, and so did her family and friends.
“Being with you is the best condition there is.”
Watching the two elder sisters exuding a romantic aura as if no one else were around, the solitary Luo Shuangxing took a loud, forceful sip of her coffee, expressing her dissatisfaction with the noise.
There were five people in total in the Café. Luo Shuangyue and Xia Mo sat together, Xiao Mimi and Jiu Ye sat together, and she sat with the air.
She wanted someone to cling to as well! She didn’t want to be a third wheel!
Unfortunately, she just couldn’t find a girl to pair up with. The only potential candidate was stuck in limbo because she didn’t dare speak up.
“Little sister, you need to step it up,” Luo Shuangyue couldn’t help but say after seeing her sister’s defeated look.
Anyone with eyes could see that the relationship between Luo Shuangxing and Yi was just one step away from a qualitative change, yet neither of these two girls dared to take the initiative. It was frustrating to watch.
‘Look at your elder sister — I’ve already found happiness. Then look at you. Don’t actually end up as a loser.’
“It’s not that simple! Besides, aren’t you just like me, Sister?” Luo Shuangxing retorted, unconvinced.
As if Luo Shuangyue were some proactive person. Had the development of her relationship with Elder Sister Xia Mo actually relied on herself? Hadn’t Elder Sister Xia Mo been the one to take the lead?
Her sister was just someone who got carried to victory — the kind with a 3.0 rating!
Elder Sister Xia Mo was the real MVP! ‘You want me to learn from your experience? Well, I’m doing exactly that right now!’
Anyone else in the world could call Luo Shuangxing a coward, but not Luo Shuangyue. After all, their levels of cowardice perfectly lived up to their status as biological sisters.
Both the elder and younger sisters were equally cowardly, both types who just lay there waiting for the other party to take the initiative.
Luo Shuangyue was lucky to have met Xia Mo, who liked to take the lead. Meanwhile, Yi was more reserved, leaving Luo Shuangxing’s romance stuck in a stalemate.
“I’m just giving you advice. Someone has to be a bit more proactive. Jiu Ye, Mimi, don’t you agree?”
It was a pointed question. The two cats quickly lowered their heads, completely afraid to answer.
Because what Luo Shuangyue said was actually true. If Jiu Ye hadn’t taken the initiative to strike, the two would probably still be strangers today.
But at a time like this, silence was better than reckless talk. Human romances shouldn’t involve cats.
‘Cats don’t know anything.’
Silence was also a type of answer. Luo Shuangyue proudly tilted her chin at her younger sister. ‘With so many people supporting me, you can’t possibly doubt me anymore, can you?’
“But…” Luo Shuangxing still felt a bit apprehensive. This kind of thing wasn’t something one could just decide on a whim.
If Yi didn’t actually like her and rejected her decisively, wouldn’t that be incredibly awkward? They might not even be able to remain friends.
“When did you become so indecisive? If you have a goal, just charge ahead and do it! What are you afraid of?” Luo Shuangyue’s hands restlessly patted her sister, egging her on to do something ‘bad’ —
No, this couldn’t be called a bad thing; it was a good thing!
This time, Xia Mo didn’t stop Luo Shuangyue’s antics. In her eyes, there was nothing wrong with what Luo Shuangyue was doing.
Wasn’t this just acting as a meddling strategist? It wasn’t like she’d never done such a thing before. Besides, Humans dating at this age was no big deal. She was naturally happy to watch the show.
“I think Shuangyue is right. Senior White Night wouldn’t refuse to prepare an extra set of utensils during family gatherings, either.”
“How can even Elder Sister Xia Mo say that? You’re all ganging up on me!”
“Hey, we’re doing this for your happiness. If my persuasion isn’t enough, you can’t possibly disbelieve Elder Sister Xia Mo, right?” Hooking her arm around her sister’s shoulders, Luo Shuangyue poked her cheek and asked.
“Uh…”
