Chapter 31: Four-Focus Smash

The movie continued.

On the big screen, a terrifying scene unfolded.

The female protagonist hid in the wardrobe, listening to the footsteps drawing closer and closer outside the door.

The visuals were horrifying, and the music was so heavy it made it hard to breathe.

But Lin Mo’s mind was not on the movie at all.

All his attention was currently concentrated on the Pikachu straddling him.

Su Qing was sitting completely on his lap, her arms wrapped around his neck and her face buried in the crook of his shoulder.

As the terrifying sound effects exploded from the movie every now and then, Su Qing would tremble and hug Lin Mo tighter out of fear.

The Pikachu was performing a Thunderbolt on Lin Mo.

Once.

Twice.

And again.

Lin Mo’s brain was on the verge of crashing.

The Sea-Fixing Needle was once again starting to become impossible to steady.

It was right between her legs. And Su Qing… seemed to have felt it too.

Because not only did Su Qing not back away, she actually pressed down a little. She even used her legs to gently touch and rub against it.

“Su Qing…” Lin Mo’s voice was tight. “You… get down…”

“No.”

“I’m scared.”

As she spoke, another scream erupted from the screen.

Her whole body jerked, and she rubbed against him again.

This time, the angle of the rub was very tricky.

Lin Mo’s waist suddenly tensed up, and his fingers subconsciously gripped the armrests of the seat.

He could feel that the Destined One’s weapon was being pressed down by her.

They were separated by two thin layers of fabric. In this state, the weapon had already begun a new round of focus accumulation.

Every slight movement she made felt like pouring oil onto a fire.

The Staff Stance was accumulating.

One level, two levels, three levels —

Lin Mo closed his eyes, desperately trying to think about something else.

Physics problems, math formulas, and Gaokao answers.

It was useless.

the faint sweet scent on her body kept drifting into his nose, and her warm breath puffed against the side of his neck, making it itchy.

He could feel her Pikachu outfit continuously delivering electric shocks to him.

“Lin Mo,” she suddenly whispered.

“Yeah?”

“Your heart is beating so fast.”

Lin Mo: “…”

She raised her head and looked at him in the darkness.

“Are you…” She tilted her head, the Pikachu ears swaying with the movement. “Also scared?”

Lin Mo opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.

Scared?

He was afraid of many things.

He was afraid that if the Pikachu kept up its continuous output, he wouldn’t be able to control himself.

He was afraid that if he lost control, something would happen.

He simply couldn’t control it.

“I…” he started, his voice dry.

Right then, another horror scene arrived in the movie. A piercing scream exploded, and Su Qing let out an “ah” as her whole body jolted upward.

Then she dropped back down.

She landed right on the Sea-Fixing Needle.

Lin Mo’s breathing stopped instantly.

He could feel the Sea-Fixing Needle sinking into a soft place.

Even through two thin layers of fabric, the sensation was terrifyingly clear.

Su Qing’s body also froze.

She didn’t move.

He didn’t move either.

The air solidified for three seconds.

Then, she slowly lowered her head and buried her face back in the crook of his shoulder. She didn’t say anything.

However, Lin Mo could feel that the tips of her ears were burning hot.

And she… didn’t move away.

She just kept pressing down like that.

(；一_一) It was over.

It was truly over.

The movie was still playing. The screams, footsteps, and music from the speakers blended into a mess. But the two of them were completely beyond caring about the film.

The Pikachu was pressing against him, continuously releasing Thunderbolt. Now, it had become a million volts.

The Staff Stance of the Sea-Fixing Needle had once again accumulated four levels of focus. The Smash Stance was fully charged and ready to strike a monster.

**[The base damage of a Four-Focus Smash is approximately 1.8 times that of a Three-Focus Smash, including an area-of-effect knockback. It can bypass some enemy shields to deal true damage. Upon release, the Golden Hooped Rod will erupt with golden lightning, combined with shocking sound effects to provide intense combat feedback.]**

**[Extreme output build: “Four-Focus Smash,” “Critical Damage Increase.” The white bar is full. “Ding,” “Ding,” “Ding” notifications continue to sound. Release the Four-Focus Smash to strike the demon.]**

This was great. The strike was stuck right there.

Neither of them dared to move.

But neither of them wanted to move.

Time passed second by second.

Lin Mo could feel the Staff Stance becoming fuller and fuller, so full it was painful.

He could also feel the temperature of that place on her body, transmitted through the fabric, getting higher and higher.

And she seemed to be… moving quietly. Her movements were subtle.

But Lin Mo noticed.

Because with every slight shift, the Destined One’s weapon would accumulate more power.

The focus value climbed all the way up the Destined One’s weapon.

Lin Mo began to sweat.

Su Qing wasn’t doing much better.

Lin Mo could feel Su Qing’s breathing becoming more and more hurried.

To avoid making too much noise, Su Qing tried her best to suppress her voice.

It drifted clearly into Lin Mo’s ears.

Her hands gripped his shoulders.

The two of them were suspended like that, neither here nor there.

Neither dared to take a step further.

But neither was willing to stop.

Five minutes.

Ten minutes.

He didn’t know how much time had passed.

Lin Mo had completely lost his sense of time.

His phone suddenly vibrated.

*Buzz — Buzz —*

Lin Mo’s body jerked and stiffened.

Su Qing froze too.

The phone was still vibrating.

*Buzz — Buzz —*

Lin Mo reached out with difficulty and pulled the phone from his pocket.

The screen was lit. It was a WeChat message.

Sender: Shen Qingyue

Content: ‘I’ve reached the entrance of Happy Valley. Where are you?’

Lin Mo stared at the line of text.

It was already 1:00 PM?!

He looked up at the big screen.

The end credits were already rolling.

The movie was over.

(°ロ°٥)…

In the next second, he felt the Staff Stance of the Destined One’s Sea-Fixing Needle instantly recede.

The Sea-Fixing Needle lost its focus at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Shen Qingyue had arrived.

As for him…

Lin Mo looked down at himself. There was a faint wet spot on his pants.

It wasn’t large, but in the dim light of the theater, it was still visible.

His face flushed a deep red.

“What’s wrong?” Su Qing’s voice came from above him. It was soft, carrying a trace of breathiness that hadn’t yet faded.

“It’s… it’s nothing.” Lin Mo lifted her off his body. “The movie is over. Let’s go.”

Su Qing sat in her seat, watching his flustered appearance.

Her face was still red, and there was lingering moisture in her eyes.

But her expression shifted from dazed to awake… and then to something else.

‘He knows she’s waiting for him,’ Demon Su Qing said. ‘Look at him. He’s in such a rush, it’s like his tail is on fire.’

Su Qing didn’t say a word.

She just looked at him.

She watched him stuff the phone into his pocket and watched him stand up.

“Su Qing,” Lin Mo began. “I… my stomach feels a bit uncomfortable.”

“Oh?”

“Maybe I ate that ice cream too fast at noon.”

Lin Mo rubbed his stomach, his expression showing just the right amount of distress. “It hurts quite a bit. I need to go back and lie down for a while.”

Su Qing looked at him.

She understood everything.

‘He’s lying,’ Demon Su Qing said. ‘He’s going to see her.’

“I see,” she said, her voice calm. “Then you should head back quickly.”

Lin Mo was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting her to be so easy to talk to.

“You’ll… be okay on your own?”

“Yes.” Su Qing nodded, the corners of her mouth curving into a very faint arc. “I’ll just wander around by myself.”

Lin Mo looked at her.

She sat there with her Pikachu outfit slightly disheveled and her face still flushed, but her expression had returned to its usual state.

Calm and sensible.

A wave of guilt welled up in his heart.

But there was no time for guilt.

“Then I’m leaving first,” he said. “You… stay safe and head back early.”

“Okay.”

Lin Mo turned and walked quickly out of the theater.

‘See?’ Demon Su Qing whispered. ‘He still chose her.’

Su Qing didn’t speak.

She slowly stood up, straightened her skirt, and then walked out of the theater.
