There really wasn’t much information she could provide.
One was that the monsters were very powerful, and the other was that conventional means couldn’t wake up the world consciousness once it started fighting.
Compared to that, White Night was more curious about the three squirming, unidentified objects next to Luo Shuangyue.
She could see that these three masses were the same black qi monsters she dealt with, but compared to conventional black qi monsters, these three were much more solid and docile.
Of course, when she tried to approach them, these masses quickly unified their internal opinions and moved away from White Night in an abstract manner.
It seemed that what was engraved in the monsters’ hearts was not only the obsession with destroying the other world but also the fear of White Night, the god of slaughter.
“I condensed them using demonic energy. For some reason, this black qi seems to really like my demonic energy. They actively absorb themselves onto it…” Luo Shuangyue explained her discovery and told her mother her other idea.
If she could use a similar method to weaken that giant monster, could she let her mother hold out for a longer time?
“Perhaps it’s because your life level is higher than these pitiful creatures, giving them a greater sense of hope.” White Night gave her guess after long deliberation.
The obsession in these monsters’ hearts was extremely deep, and they would do anything to achieve it.
This naturally included breaking their own bodies to turn themselves into food for a stronger being.
That largest Path Creature was created exactly this way.
Its massive size was formed by the fusion of countless monsters that had been killed by White Night numerous times.
Only then did they have the possibility of competing with White Night.
“But your idea might not necessarily succeed because its status isn’t much lower than yours. You can’t make it voluntarily collapse to become your power,” White Night said, pointing at the monster that was currently reforming.
“It is the collective entity meant to destroy our world, while you are the collective entity meant to destroy their world. You are equal in status, but your goals are completely opposite.”
Ordinary monsters couldn’t tell the difference.
Luo Shuangyue hid the evil intent in her heart extremely well, so these ordinary monsters threw themselves at her like moths to a flame.
But that giant monster was different. It was already very, very strong. Why would it give up its power to help Luo Shuangyue?
It wasn’t actually inferior to Luo Shuangyue. Her strength came from the fusion of the powers of the emperors from the other world. Wasn’t it the same?
Who was more noble than the other?
“Then could I also try to absorb that monster’s power? Our powers should have the same source…”
“Yes, your powers are from the same source because the form of a demon is a consensus reached after our two world consciousnesses copied each other.” White Night nodded, adding a small secret Luo Shuangyue didn’t know.
It was impossible to trace whose inspiration the original demons were.
Regardless, both world consciousnesses eventually discovered how useful the demon form was and used them as their weapons.
Perhaps they also thought about using demons to fight demons, devouring the opponent’s weapons to use as their own?
However, the final result was likely unsatisfactory.
“By the way, what happens when demons from two different worlds devour each other?” Luo Shuangyue asked curiously.
Since Nightmare Creatures belonged to different factions, what would happen if a demon from one side ate a demon from the other?
Would it be smoothly devoured like a normal demon, or would the devouring fail for some reason?
This question made White Night show a helpless expression. This child really knew how to ask questions, picking the ones she didn’t know the answers to.
“How could I possibly know the answer to that? The Nightmare Creatures created by our world consciousness are all thrown into that world. They won’t stay here.”
White Night was human, not a god. Just guarding this channel took all her strength; she had no extra energy to help the other world solve their problems.
Besides, didn’t the other world have the Holy Sovereign to back them up? She believed her partner wouldn’t let her down.
“However, I guess it wouldn’t have a very good result. The obsession within these Nightmare Creatures’ thoughts is too deep. It would have a significant impact on the demons that devour them.”
“But I’ve absorbed the power of Nightmare Creatures before, and nothing seemed to happen?” Luo Shuangyue tilted her head and asked.
She had eaten quite a few Nightmare Creatures along the way, even devouring their original magic power, but she didn’t seem to have been affected… probably?
“Are you sure you’re really okay?” White Night raised an eyebrow.
Luo Shuangyue suddenly lost some confidence. Maybe, perhaps, she was okay?
“The past you and the present you are different. When you absorbed the power of Nightmare Creatures before, you were still a magical girl. Your power was naturally capable of countering the obsession within the Nightmare Creature’s consciousness,” White Night explained, shaking her head.
“But now you have a demon body and have lost that power. If you go and absorb that power now, the most likely outcome is that you’ll fall directly into a state of split personality.”
The evil intent in Luo Shuangyue’s spirit was directed at the Holy Sovereign’s world, while the Path Creatures she wanted to absorb were determined to destroy their own world.
If these two conflicting thoughts were superimposed in Luo Shuangyue’s mind, the result likely wouldn’t be the two of them shaking hands and letting Luo Shuangyue stand in the middle.
They would likely fight frantically over the Luo Shuangyue caught in between until she belonged to one side, or her consciousness was torn into two halves, with each side taking a piece.
“That sounds a bit familiar…” Not long ago, Luo Shuangyue had indeed been in that situation, but now there were no more voices in her head.
“In short, I don’t object to you trying, but you must be careful, careful, and more careful,” White Night said to Luo Shuangyue very seriously.
“I know… Oh, Mom, can these things be sent to the Magic Department through the spatial channel? I want Monice to help me study them first.”
“That… should be possible.” White Night’s answer was a bit hesitant. “But I can’t be sure what changes will occur once you take them away from here.”
Path Creatures were Path Creatures here, not garbage. Only after successfully descending into their target world would they use magic power to condense a body and transform into Nightmare Creatures.
Right now, they were more like the embryos of Nightmare Creatures, though these embryos were far superior to Nightmare Creatures in terms of immortality.
“They are essentially the original magic power of Nightmare Creatures, but because they aren’t currently inside a body, they don’t look like the original magic power you’ve seen before,” White Night continued to explain.
“I don’t know the consequences of taking them from here to the Magic Department. They might stay as they are, they might turn into original magic power, or they might even turn into Nightmare Creatures.”
The uncertainty was strong, but Luo Shuangyue felt it was worth a try.
Doing nothing would yield no results, and in this moment where every second counted, having no results was a mistake.
What she needed to do now was grab onto any life-saving straw and strive to find a possibility.
And that required a great deal of courage. If she were careful and cautious about everything and unwilling to take any risks, it would be too late to be bold when the world exploded.
“The risk is within an acceptable range. If we can discover its weakness through this, we’ll hit the jackpot.” Luo Shuangyue clenched her hand and made a decision on the spot.
She would just take one scoop out of the black mist cloud the monster had turned into.
No matter how powerful the resulting monster was, how strong could it possibly be? Would it have the strength of a Demon Emperor?
Even if it did, facing the current Luo Shuangyue and the fully armed Magic Department, a single Demon Emperor wouldn’t be able to cause much of a stir.
It would likely be taken down directly by the saturated fire of the Magic Department.
“Xia Mo! Go back and tell the mentors that I might bring a big guy back, and have them get ready!”
Hearing Luo Shuangyue’s words, Xia Mo didn’t say anything in opposition.
Instead, she nodded and dove straight back into the channel to deliver the message.
Seeing Xia Mo so obedient, White Night immediately gave Luo Shuangyue a suggestive look, as if saying, ‘Not bad, kid, to have snagged such a fine prize.’
“Mom, why are you looking at me like that?” Luo Shuangyue felt a bit creeped out by the look and couldn’t help but hug her chest and mumble.
“When did the two of you get together?” White Night didn’t hide her thoughts and asked directly.
As a mother, it was fine for her to care about her daughter’s romantic history, right?
Coincidentally, Xia Mo was also a child she had watched grow up.
She had even saved Xia Mo once, so she was qualified to ask about the situation between the two.
Unlike the Holy Sovereign, White Night had never thought that Luo Shuangyue and Xia Mo would end up together.
She had always been a bit of a blockhead when it came to romance. Even the relationship between her and the Holy Sovereign couldn’t really be called love.
The two of them were more like comrades-in-arms on the same boat than lovers with affection for each other.
But they had genuine family affection for their two children, and it was that affection that bound White Night and the Holy Sovereign together.
“…We just naturally fell for each other. After all, we’ve played together for so many years.” Luo Shuangyue’s gaze drifted. She couldn’t very well say that the whole ill-fated relationship started with her blast that disintegrated Xia Mo, could she?
She felt she would be severely lectured by her mother if she said that.
“Oh, love growing over time?” White Night interpreted Luo Shuangyue’s drifting gaze as a young girl’s shyness.
Some of her friends from the past had acted similarly when asked about their relationships.
But she still had one small question.
That was, “But Yue, you were a boy before. Did Xia Mo’s attitude toward you change after you became a girl?”
