“We are girls. Let’s not spend every day fighting and killing. Let’s go for a stroll,” Samimi said, her small hand waving with a smile.
After finishing their meal, Samimi and Niubao went to the weapon shop and the general store in the camp to have a look. This was also a part of experiencing the world.
They were currently at Pioneer Camp Number Ten.
This type of station was a large-scale camp, significantly larger than ordinary ones. It was the size of a standard Human Race town, with thicker wooden walls and much stronger defensive capabilities.
Because such large camps served as major rear bases for other smaller battle camps in the vicinity, dozens of warehouses had been built to store vast quantities of supplies. At the same time, many shops provided services for adventurers.
The entire camp was like the core of a spiderweb, serving as the backup for all external battle camps. It was a very important strategic location.
Therefore, Samimi and Niubao could stroll through the streets normally, although everything sold here was related to adventuring.
For example, the general store sold various kinds of marching rations and easily stored food.
If one wanted to eat a fresh meal, they had to go to a restaurant within the large pioneer camp. Usually, adventurers could only eat marching rations like jerky and biscuits.
Samimi bought a round of various flavors of marching rations from the general store, intending to taste them all to see what they were like.
Regardless, they could store all the food inside the crystal space. However, time didn’t stop inside, and there was no refrigeration, so fresh ingredients still couldn’t be kept there.
Samimi also bought the latest map of the pioneer camp.
Finally, they went to the camp’s weapon shop, but there were no good weapons. They were all common, ordinary weapons that didn’t catch her eye.
Samimi even discovered that there was a bank in the camp. It was a truly innovative piece of infrastructure where adventurers could deposit their own money.
However, only adventurers could deposit money there, as the bank was run by the Adventurers’ Guild. If an adventurer went missing, the money would be given to their family.
Rather than a bank, it was more like an association for managing bereavement funds for families.
Adventure and pioneering weren’t romantic at all; they were accompanied by reality and cruelty.
It was only that works of art dressed them up as beautiful fantasies, making it easier to evoke empathy in people. After all, most people had never actually gone on an adventure.
In any case, Samimi couldn’t see a hint of beauty here, but the emotional bonds between the adventurers were decent. There were no truly evil people, at most just some bickering and occasional fights.
But that wouldn’t do —
‘I, Samimi, am a villainess, and Niubao is an antagonist. We are the truly wicked ones.’
‘We definitely came to the south to cause trouble! You didn’t think we were here for a vacation, did you?’
After finishing their stroll, the two arrived at the local Adventurers’ Guild to check the mission board for the latest tasks.
However, Samimi only looked at the mission briefings and would not actually accept any. If she found a task she liked, she would just mark the location on the map.
If she didn’t accept the mission, she wouldn’t receive a bounty even if she eliminated the target. More importantly, she wouldn’t gain experience, and the rank on her Adventurer certificate wouldn’t increase.
But what did it matter? They weren’t here to earn money or fame.
The Miworm and Niubao were pragmatists. They only ever pursued power; only mediocre people pursued money and authority.
“Actual combat is the best way to improve strength. Let’s go. We’re going to kill to our heart’s content,” Samimi said as she folded the map. Her expression gradually became sinister and cruel.
Twilight approached, and darkness descended.
The two specifically waited until dark to go out and hunt Magic Beasts, avoiding the adventurer teams out during the day.
The stage only belonged to them after everyone else went home. This was their “solo hunting” tactic.
During the day, they would lounge in the inn as Miworms, and as soon as night fell, they entered hunting mode. Moreover, they had to climb out of the inn window and sneak out of the camp, absolutely avoiding the main gate.
Since they didn’t want to become famous, they wouldn’t give anyone even a small chance of finding them. Not a single achievement would be seen by others.
They strolled through the Forest of Ten Thousand Seas during the most dangerous hours of the night. This was the most terrifying script in the world.
If it weren’t for Niubao’s wild instincts and Samimi’s own [**Clarity Ritual**] — which acted as dual radars constantly scanning the surroundings — Samimi wouldn’t have dared to run around at night even if she had 100 times the courage.
This kind of darkness was beyond the point where light could dispel it. The surrounding terrain was too complex. One wouldn’t know which direction a Magic Beast would attack from; by the time one’s eyes saw them, it would be too late.
[**Magic Ritual**]
However, Samimi always felt that those stupid novelists loved to set ambush-type Magic Beasts like spiders as “human sea tactic” mobs. That was very unreasonable.
Whatever. Only fools looked for realism in an Otherworld.
“Niubao, you’re very strong in one-on-one combat, but what would you do if you were surrounded by multiple experts? So, now you should practice your ability to clear out fodder. Go, kill them all!” Samimi wasn’t afraid at all and even laughed happily.
“Understood.” Niubao didn’t hesitate for a moment, charging into the swarm of Demon Spiders alone with her swords.
“Also, I won’t give you any buffs for now. You can only rely on your base attributes to fight. You can’t depend on my support every day. One day, you’ll need to know how to fight independently,” Samimi instructed.
“I want to be with Sister for a lifetime.” Those words made Niubao unhappy.
Her dissatisfaction turned into power. In an instant, she struck out a formation of afterimages, charging into the Demon Spider swarm like a bulldozer.
Countless spider limbs flew into the air, and a large amount of green Magic Beast blood splashed across the ground. The army of Demon Spiders simply could not stop the Beastkin Sister’s slaughter.
The Demon Spiders’ attack consisted of various spider silks. However, this type of attack was perfectly countered by the [**Magic Shield**]. It couldn’t bind the Beastkin Sister’s body at all.
Even more Demon Spiders became souls under Niubao’s blade. She carved through them like melons and vegetables, unstoppable all the way.
Samimi leisurely followed Niubao’s path of slaughter from behind, taking a stroll. She adjusted the position of her small green orbs of light to illuminate the road ahead for Niubao.
But in reality, Niubao was a hero-tier unit who didn’t need to worry about clearing fodder. Clearing small monsters and fodder didn’t require strength and technique as much as it required stamina and energy.
Coincidentally, stamina and energy were the things Niubao lacked least.
She could dance with her dual swords until dawn without feeling fatigued.
‘It seems I need to find a real expert for Niubao to spar with so she can realize there is always someone better out there,’ Samimi analyzed as she slowed down, rubbing her chin.
But the moment she slowed down, a spiderweb appeared above her head out of nowhere.
A massive [**Spider Lord**] had silently arrived above Samimi, watching her like a tiger watching its prey.
It launched itself from the web in mid-air, sneaking behind the Priest lady. It intended to sit on her and crush her to death! ‘You like walking at night? You’re looking for death!’
*Boom!*
Tree roots on the ground snapped, and withered leaves and dust flew into the air. This pounce from the Spider Lord was truly powerful!
Normally, this kind of attack was impossible to defend against. This was the terrifying part of the Forest of Ten Thousand Seas. Sometimes, it wasn’t enough for an adventurer to be strong; the Magic Beasts had too many ambush traps waiting for you.
Unfortunately, as a Magic User, she had a 360-degree, all-encompassing [**Magic Shield**]. This kind of sneak attack couldn’t hurt Samimi.
Looking at Niubao, who didn’t even turn her head and continued sweeping through the Demon Spiders, one could tell she was very confident in Sister’s strength.
As the dust settled, one could see the Spider Lord gnawing frantically at the [**Magic Shield**] and [**Clarity Ritual**], but it couldn’t bite through. It paced around in circles, frantic.
It appeared!
It was the shield-stacking combo that the Demon-Hunting Sister specialized in.
[**Curse upon Curse**]
Following that, streaks of pure white light erupted and flashed on the ground.
Several of the Spider Lord’s legs were instantly rotted and severed. It rolled on the ground in pain, wildly spraying spider silk and venom.
But the venom was also useless against the [**Magic Shield**]. What the [**Magic Shield**] feared least were underhanded tricks; instead, it feared opponents who fought her with brute force.
Samimi gently swung her Divine Staff, drawing out a [**Magic Sword Aura**] that cleaved the large spider in half.
After finishing off the Spider Lord, a [**Rank C Dagger**] dropped from its mouth.
“A high-quality weapon. It can be sold for some money, or I can keep it as a collection.” Samimi picked up the dagger and looked at it curiously. ‘But why would it have a serial number?’
