On the second day after arriving at the Army Chaplain Group, Truth slept very soundly.
She had been secretly looking forward to some older sister sneaking into her room at night.
After all, as the Holy Maiden, she had to remain reserved. Being too proactive would not be proper.
Unfortunately, an entire night passed without a single older sister launching a “night raid.”
Because Tia had stood guard outside all night.
Truth could sense that Annabelle and the others very much wanted to come chat with her.
They had been lingering near her room the whole time.
But whenever they tried to approach, Tia stepped in front of them.
Both sides knew exactly what the other intended, so there was no conversation at all.
They simply glared at each other, snorted lightly, and left.
After Annabelle explained why the atmosphere of the Priestess Corps was so open, Tia decided she absolutely would not allow Truth to be influenced by them.
So after touring the entire group, Tia stationed herself at Truth’s door until sunrise.
“Are you sleepy?”
After sunrise, Annabelle, freshly washed, covered her mouth and teased Tia, who looked slightly drowsy.
Several priestlings followed behind her to watch the show.
“Oh? You’re sleepy? When are you planning to go to bed?”
Yes. Once Tia fell asleep, Truth would be…
“Get lost. I have nothing to say to shameless people like you!” Tia snapped viciously.
“Shameless? We’re just having friendly interactions between companions. How did that become such a grave sin in your mouth? Besides, has the Church ever forbidden it? Or is it a rule in your Family? My, my. You look more mature than me, but you’re just as innocent as the Holy Maiden.”
Annabelle moved closer to Tia at an unhurried pace. Tia did not step back, only gritted her teeth and stared at her—until their bodies brushed against each other.
“Mm…”
In the next second, Tia’s pretty face flushed red the moment she made contact with Annabelle.
She instantly lost her composure. It was true—she did not know much about intimate matters.
She only knew that having children required a man and a woman.
The Church did not teach such things. And the materials left behind by her Family were all about Priest Skills and the History of the Mist.
There was nothing at all about reproduction.
‘Perhaps that’s why the Family declined…’
“Oh? You’re blushing? So you really don’t understand anything. With such shallow knowledge, are you even fit to be the Holy Maiden’s teacher?”
Annabelle pressed closer. Although Tia had the better build, under that overwhelming pressure she was gradually forced into a corner.
Her gaze began to waver, yet she still tried to maintain her imposing manner.
“Move aside!”
“Did I hit the mark? Heh, it’s fine. Everything takes time. It’s not too late for me to teach you now. For example, do you want to know what to do to make the Holy Maiden show a comfortable expression?”
“Or… how to make yourself feel comfortable?”
Annabelle whispered near Tia’s ear. Her warm breath felt like an electric current running through Tia’s entire body.
Startled, Tia shoved against Annabelle’s chest and ran heavily toward Truth’s room.
Inside the room, Truth rested her chin on her hands by the window, leisurely overlooking the entire Military Camp.
From the moment the sky began to brighten at the horizon, the soldiers had already started training.
It truly was the army—everything was orderly.
Only the Lily Priest Order felt somewhat different in style.
Compared to the soldiers drilling on the Training Ground, the priests seemed rather relaxed.
Aside from medical duties, the priestlings did not appear responsible for much else.
Yet even without work, they still had to remain in the camp. That kind of life was indeed boring.
No wonder they entertained themselves, Truth thought.
And their way of passing time was rather bratty.
Not far outside the window, when several cooks from the Logistics Department passed by, two young priestlings walking hand in hand nearby suddenly covered their mouths and snickered.
“Oh my? It’s you skinny dogs again. You’ve been hauling firewood for almost a month and you’re still this thin? What about your regular physical training? Or did you fake being sick again just to sneak over and steal our socks?”
“What do you even want our socks for? So hard to guess. Can’t afford your own, so you steal ours? Or… do you use them at night to secretly satisfy your dirty fantasies? Ew, that’s disgusting.”
“Can’t live without women, can you? How low. Good thing our Lily Priest Order is stationed here. If we weren’t around to fuel your imaginations, wouldn’t you all start turning on yourselves?”
“I heard that even the coldest man’s insides are warm. Heehee…”
Only after the cooks lowered their heads and hurried away did the two priestlings stop their taunting and continue their stroll, soon finding a new target.
The soldiers had little way to counter the priests’ mockery. After all, priests were the ones who saved their lives.
And with Annabelle’s presence, the priests were no longer the innocent girls who would scream in panic after being groped.
Now they could openly ridicule the soldiers for lacking stamina with seasoned sharp tongues.
In the past, it had been the soldiers making crude jokes across the Training Ground at passing priests.
How the tables had turned.
At first, many soldiers reported to their superiors that the Priestess Corps was constantly insulting people and disrupting camp morale.
But soon, others began saying, “Stop meddling!”
For some reason, a number of soldiers found it strangely comforting to be harshly scolded by younger girls.
It greatly eased the tension before battle. Even now, Kavier was unsure how to handle the situation.
“The Lily Priest Order, huh…”
After witnessing all this, Truth had a rough understanding of them.
It was simply a leader extremely open about intimacy with women, leading a group of bratty priestlings.
“Truth!”
Suddenly, the door to Truth’s room was slammed open by Tia. She hurriedly grabbed Truth’s hand and pulled her outside.
“We can’t stay here anymore. Come with me to see Calvi!”
Outside, the other priestlings did not stop them. They simply watched as Tia led Truth toward Kavier’s Command Post, then turned to their leader.
Annabelle only smiled faintly and shook her head without saying anything.
Ten minutes later, thanks to the Holy Maiden’s status, Tia and Truth smoothly entered the Command Post and met Kavier, who was studying a sand table.
Before Tia could speak, Kavier had already guessed what was going on.
“I thought the one who would be angry would be the Holy Maiden. Instead, it’s you, High Priest.”
“You already knew what those priests are like, and you still let the Holy Maiden mingle with them?!” Tia demanded loudly.
It was one thing for Annabelle to have designs on Truth—but why did she even try to test Tia as well?
That had truly flustered her.
“Everything must ultimately be decided by the Holy Maiden. At first, I assumed she would dislike how overly intimate they are and think it tarnishes the Church’s image. But from the looks of it, the Holy Maiden seems quite accepting.”
Kavier glanced at Truth behind Tia, who looked calm. Unexpectedly open-minded… or perhaps she simply did not understand and therefore did not mind?
“Holy Maiden, what is your view on the Lily Priest Order?” Kavier asked carefully.
