The painful reality had just ended, and she immediately fell into a nightmare.
Before her, the girl with blue-white long hair was staring at An Qing.
That little face, always expressionless, finally showed a change.
“Why did you do this?”
An Qing furrowed her brows; she didn’t speak. The scene before her gave her a slight sense of familiarity.
A chaotic feeling filled her brain.
Hospital… white cloth, and An Yu looking very sad.
…It was that day.
“Because they’re in the way, aren’t they?” An Qing grinned, revealing a pleased smile.
Ah…
Today was the day the An family parents passed away.
It was also the first time she had met An Yu openly after completely falling out with her.
The An family parents died in a car accident; after treatment for a period, they succumbed to their injuries.
However, that wasn’t a car accident arranged by An Qing.
But that didn’t stop her from claiming it, because she just wanted to see An Yu’s reaction.
As expected, An Yu’s cute little face twisted with anger:
“Do you know how long I searched, how long I waited, to have all this?”
“Now, you’ve destroyed it!”
“You damned scum… you clearly have nothing—”
An Yu gritted her teeth and lowered her head; her amber eyes completely lost their usual spirit.
Innocence no longer existed; only disgust and anger remained.
An Qing furrowed her brows; she couldn’t hear that last sentence clearly.
She subconsciously reached out, wanting to touch the girl before her, but was interrupted.
“Don’t touch me!”
An Yu casually waved her hand, knocking away An Qing’s hand.
“An Qing, stay away from me, and then…”
An Yu looked at An Qing expressionlessly, then turned and left.
An Qing still couldn’t hear…
“Hey.”
An Qing subconsciously reached out forward, but she grasped at air.
The scenery before her was rapidly changing, as if time was passing.
She subconsciously raised her hand, weakly clenching it in the air.
An Yu was clearly so weak, but no matter what, she couldn’t grasp her.
An Qing raised her head; the scene before her had completely changed.
However, she was very familiar with this place, more familiar than the hospital earlier.
This wasn’t a hospital, but the basement of her home.
She had lived here for a very long time…
With An Yu.
An Qing subconsciously took a step forward; she familiarly went to a certain place and slowly opened the locked iron door.
She walked in; her crimson pupils trembled slightly due to tension.
“An Qing, let me go.”
An Yu’s voice came from not far away.
An Qing subconsciously paused, then suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of relief.
She looked at An Yu; those crimson eyes were full of the other’s figure.
“An Yu, until you tell me the reason you did that, just stay here forever like this.”
An Yu raised her head expressionlessly; her amber eyes stared fixedly at An Qing.
In that gaze, a trace of hatred slowly began to emerge.
“An Qing, you really just do meaningless things.” An Yu tilted her head, her lips slowly curving upward: “I was clearly about to have everything I wanted…”
An Yu was smiling, but that smile carried a faint despair.
“You disgusting guy… have you never thought about why you could successfully kidnap me?”
“Why your revenge went so smoothly?”
“And, does taking away all my things make you this happy?”
An Qing’s gaze gradually became empty; even now, she still couldn’t understand An Yu.
She had never thought of taking anything from An Yu; even to this day, it was the same.
But An Yu had been wary of her from the very beginning, scheming against her.
An Qing subconsciously looked at An Yu; at this moment, the girl’s eyes were no longer like before.
There was no innocence there, only resentment.
Almost subconsciously, An Qing wanted to touch the girl before her.
However, her hand passed through, touching nothing.
An Qing gritted her teeth; a flash of abnormality in her crimson eyes.
This was her dream.
She had realized it long ago.
Because An Yu couldn’t appear in the basement.
Or rather, a living An Yu couldn’t appear.
She had long since committed suicide in this cage that An Qing had personally built for her.
“An Qing.”
In her confusion, she heard An Yu’s voice once again.
“Stay away from me.”
An Qing suddenly reached out, seeming to want to grasp something.
“Why should I…”
She almost blurted it out, but didn’t finish the second half.
Because she realized that everything before her seemed no longer a dream.
An Qing subconsciously clenched her fist; her body was covered in fine sweat.
This dream had almost drained her of her last bit of strength.
“Ha… hu…”
An Qing subconsciously took deep breaths; her body trembled lightly due to the nightmare.
She had dreamed once again of things that happened in her previous life.
After she had given up and broken the jar, every meeting with An Yu had been very unpleasant.
Until later, she kidnapped the isolated An Yu.
An Qing felt that, in a certain sense, it couldn’t even be called kidnapping; she just… locked An Yu in the basement, not letting her leave.
No one discovered An Yu’s disappearance, because all the revenge had already ended.
There was no one else by An Yu’s side anymore.
And then…
Seeming to remember something, An Qing suddenly felt a headache.
She didn’t want to think about those things.
Ding ling—
The phone beside her rang, interrupting An Qing’s thoughts; this was the alarm she had set before resting.
Because the birthday banquet hadn’t been completed yet; she still had to receive Chen Guang…
This was the only important point; it couldn’t be destroyed.
An Qing stiffly stood up, like a walking corpse.
Everything had been designed by her in advance, so it had to be completed.
An Qing came to the full-length mirror and calmly adjusted her clothes.
The girl in the mirror looked even more tired than before; she had just slept a moment ago.
But she had no choice; no matter how tired, how unwilling, she had to complete her goal.
Whether taking away the An family or Chen Guang, they were things she had to do.
She had to… had to do them.
An Qing left the full-length mirror expressionlessly and slowly walked toward the door.
Her hand rested on the doorknob, trembling lightly.
She didn’t want to see those people.
However, she still pressed down, opened the room door, and walked out.
Just as she stepped out, An Qing changed her face.
On that pretty face, a gentle smile hung once more.
However, this time it was even more forced than usual.
Her heart was in confusion, because she seemed to have discovered the fact that An Yu might not care about these things at all.
But she didn’t want to believe it, nor did she want to believe it.
Because that would make her two lives seem like a joke.
Everything she had done, all meaningless.
I’m starting to feel like the past An Yu really was similar to ours and just decided to fake hating An Qing for some reason…
My guess is original An Yu wanted to drive Qing out of the family because she knew how miserable said family actually was. Only her plans went poorly and she made Qing so crazy she drove Yu to suicide
