Underground, Teleportation Array secret chamber.
When Enya infused her magic power into the Runic Magic Circle, a rumbling began to echo from the ground, and a magic formation with a diameter of over a hundred meters lit up on the platform.
She released her hand from the floor and stood up again. At the same time, the rumbling from the ground became more violent.
Enya glanced around.
The cost of Teleportation Formation Magic depends on the weight and volume of the one being teleported, as well as the amount of magic contained within them.
The higher the tier of the teleported, the greater the magic power consumed.
This particular Teleportation Array seemed to be designed for transporting supplies.
Although it was constructed very spaciously, the array itself was not of high grade.
Suddenly, pillars began to rise from the ground, their distribution exceptionally clever—all located at the critical points of the array.
There were thirteen pillars in total, each about the size of two people embracing, differing in height, but all made from the same material.
Pure black Wujin Ore, an excellent medium and reservoir for magic. These pillars were used here as sources of magic power.
Enya slowly walked up to one of the pillars.
She placed her hand on it.
With a trace of magic injected, a few storage Magic Symbols lit up on the Wujin Pillar, but only a thin circle at the very base.
This meant that the pillar before Enya had only about one or two percent of its magic power remaining.
Let alone starting up the Teleportation Array—there wasn’t even enough magic to ignite the array!
Enya didn’t bother checking the magic power in every pillar.
She could tell, even without thinking, that someone had “burned the bridge after crossing it.”
Before Sharon teleported, she had likely already released all the stored magic power here, leaving only enough for a single activation.
After they teleported away just now, the pre-stored magic in this Teleportation Array had been exhausted, and it couldn’t be used again.
“Heh, how considerate,” Enya sneered coldly.
Yet she was in no hurry.
Leisurely, she walked to the Core of the Teleportation Array and set all the Wujin Pillars into magic absorption mode.
As her command took effect, the thirteen Wujin Pillars protruding from the ground gradually formed a faint blue magic circle at their tops.
Magic power from around the array was being drawn in, but Enya didn’t expect to collect enough for the next teleport this way.
Though she, Sophia, and Nina were only three people, Enya was Dual Fifth Rank, Sophia was Fifth Rank, and Nina was at the peak of Sixth Rank.
The total amount of magic power they had was not insignificant.
At this pace, it would take at least a full day just to gather the minimum amount of magic power needed to activate the Teleportation Array.
By that time, who knew if Tulius’s banquet would have gone cold—or perhaps everyone would have packed up and left!
The magic here had already been depleted, and after a teleportation, the subtle spatial distortion required time to settle.
Relying on such an inefficient absorption method was impossible. Fortunately, Enya had another solution—she reached out and took out a Magic Core.
A Magic Core is the magic power core of a magical beast, though compared to the exquisite, delicate orbs of human Magic Cores, those of beasts looked more like naturally formed gems.
The one in Enya’s hand was roughly a diamond-shaped blue crystal.
Flapping her wings, she flew up to the top of one of the Wujin Pillars.
She couldn’t help but curl her lip in disdain.
Looking at the Magic Array of Absorbing Energy, Enya grumbled, “Goodness, who made such a lousy design? Not even compatible with different external sources—must be the result of layers of outsourcing.”
As a disciple of the ancient Great Witch, Great Sage Antiros, and in a field she herself excelled at, seeing such a shoddy design for the Magic Array of Absorbing Energy made Enya click her tongue in contempt.
She reached out and made several modifications to the original design. What was once a single-layer, table-sized simple array was now rather complex.
Additionally, three secondary arrays, each about the size of a soup bowl, hovered five centimeters above the original array.
Enya placed the Magic Core atop them.
The three small arrays caught the Magic Core and grew in size.
The restrictive runes on the Magic Gem were released, and the previously dim gem now radiated waves of magical aura.
These auras dispersed evenly within the arrays and were absorbed by the Magic Array of Absorbing Energy below.
She repeated the process with the others, though skipping some unnecessary Wujin Pillars, intending to activate the Teleportation Array with minimum expenditure.
Enya was making her final adjustment.
Suddenly, a pitch-black shadow appeared abruptly at her side—a thin man, holding a black dagger, stabbing at Enya.
But the instant he got within three meters of Enya, the man withdrew his dagger and shielded his neck.
Screech!
A piercing noise exploded.
The man, a powerful Assassin, was sent flying dozens of meters away.
He landed, then hid behind a Wujin Pillar, and in the next moment became a Shadow, merging into the pillar’s shadow.
The man’s presence vanished completely.
Enya landed from above, not looking at the pillar the man had disappeared into, but at another one nearby.
Her gaze shifted ceaselessly, as if always watching something.
The Assassin was already shocked.
No matter how he concealed his aura, Enya’s gaze could always lock onto him. He could not evade those eyes.
Enya’s eyes finally settled; she looked at the shadow beneath a Wujin Pillar not far away, tilted her head, and teased,
“What’s the matter, not running anymore?”
A silhouette emerged from behind the pillar.
The Dark Hall—full name Hall of Shadows—a mysterious organization dealing in assassination and protection, with its main activities in the Northland States.
Those wearing skull masks were Assassins within the organization; those with their faces wrapped in black cloth were Shadow Guards among them.
The one who attacked Enya had his face wrapped in black cloth.
“Hall of Shadows’ Shadow Guard? So your collaborator was you people after all.”
Since the last incident in Red Pine City, Enya had found some information about this organization called the Hall of Shadows.
Behind her armored mask, a pair of golden-red Dragon Eyes locked onto the Shadow Guard, and Enya licked her lips unconsciously.
Some mischievous thoughts flitted through her mind~
A chill ran down the Shadow Guard’s spine.
A flash of panic flickered beneath the black cloth.
Just now, he felt as if a ravenous beast had locked onto him, pondering how best to devour its prey.
Enya raised her head and spoke,
“Can you guess why I didn’t just kill you straight away?”
“You!!!”
The Shadow Guard’s eyes suddenly widened, for in Enya’s hand there appeared a Black Water Sphere the size of a pigeon egg.
It resembled a drop of water bound in place, yet seemed to have its own will, writhing restlessly as if trying to escape Enya’s palm.
The appearance of this black liquid made the Shadow Guard’s heart pound wildly, sweat pouring down his shrouded face.
Enya’s eyes could see it: because of his emotional turmoil, magical ripples flared up around the Shadow Guard.
The black liquid in her hand was something she had taken from a slain Hall of Shadows Assassin. After noticing it, she had kept it in the Library within her Sea of Consciousness.
Through this encounter, Enya roughly guessed that this thing might be some kind of internal reward in their organization, perhaps used to enhance power?
Thinking of this, Enya grinned wickedly and spoke with a feigned air of arrogance,
“I can give you this, if you swear loyalty to me.”
The Shadow Guard visibly hesitated.
He wavered!
Behind the helmet, Enya’s mouth curved upward uncontrollably.
“Ten seconds. Then give me your answer.”
As she spoke, she released a trace of her aura. That powerful, spiritually reinforced pressure made the very air in the Teleportation Array hall nearly freeze.
Icy dread seeped into the Shadow Guard’s bones.
Clutching his black dagger tightly, he fell into deep thought, but when seven seconds had passed, he moved.
He tried to merge with the darkness.
Enya saw him about to flee and found it rather dull.
At this moment, she whispered,
“Sky Sword: Ultimate: No Edge.”
The Shadow Guard’s body pitched forward, and only after falling to the floor did he realize his lower body had lost all feeling—so had his arms!
Enya stood before him, reaching out to grasp his remaining upright torso, and there she found a gray Soul Pearl.
When the Shadow Guard saw Enya’s feet appear before him, he tried desperately to activate his magic, but his body refused to respond!
The moment he saw Enya holding the gray pearl, utter terror overtook him. He wondered if he was dead, but his consciousness remained terribly clear.
Pain…
Pain surged in like a tide!
Only now did the Shadow Guard realize he’d already been cut down, though he didn’t know exactly when… No, now he remembered when.
It was the instant Enya uttered that phrase.
He looked at Enya in horror and gasped his final words.
“Sky Sword… Ten Extremes… You’re…”
“What am I?”
Enya raised an eyebrow, glancing at the Sixth Rank Shadow Guard before her.
That was her sword technique.
This man might not have met her before, but he had heard of the title. Presumably, he also knew the name “Enya.”
If she wished, Enya could harvest the Shadow Guard’s soul and learn all his most profound memories.
But Enya disliked such things.
Forcing another’s life into her own mind always felt repugnant, and besides, it was seldom necessary.
There were plenty who knew of “Sky Sword Ten Extremes” and “Enya.”
After the Shadow Guard’s life faded completely, faint black threads began to seep from his body—so fine as to be nearly invisible.
The Black Water Sphere in Enya’s hand seemed to sense its food, and began to pulse eagerly.
Enya stroked it with a finger, coaxing in a joking tone,
“Be good, I’ll let you have it.”
The stray black threads floating in the air were drawn to the Black Water Sphere.
They flew to Enya’s palm, merging into the sphere, and when it was done absorbing them, it stilled.
