The morning light shone for the first time.
The little one in Bai Yue’s arms stirred, her furry head nuzzling against her before she slowly opened her sleepy eyes.
“Good morning, Master.”
Yan Hua’s voice still carried a hint of drowsy childishness, soft and sweet.
“Good morning, Yan Hua.”
Bai Yue lowered her head, her gaze unconsciously softening as she looked at her confused expression.
“Master, the hand-grab pancake from last night was really delicious, and that bubbling black water was tasty too.”
Yan Hua recalled with relish, instinctively sticking out her unusually long tongue to lick her lips.
Bai Yue watched her little movement, unfazed, but still gently reminded her.
“Yan Hua, from now on, after eating, you can’t bring things back up from your stomach to taste them again.”
“But that way, I can taste the flavor twice. It’s endlessly delicious.”
Yan Hua blinked her innocent big eyes, a bit puzzled.
“As a girl, you need to be elegant and hygienic, okay?”
Bai Yue patiently rubbed her head.
“Remember?”
“Oh, okay.”
Yan Hua nodded obediently.
Whatever Master says goes.
She immediately hugged Bai Yue’s arm again and added, “Then Master has to make me more and more delicious food in the future.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll make it all for you.”
Bai Yue smiled helplessly.
This little glutton.
In the past, this Lake House was always quiet and lonely.
Now, with three disciples, it was full of lively energy everywhere.
The bamboo door creaked open, and Bai Yue walked out.
She wore her usual simple gray robe, her snow-white hair loosely tied with a wooden hairpin.
Mu Chenxi and Su Qiuyue were also awake, standing quietly.
When they saw her come out, their eyes instantly lit up, as if filled with scattered starlight.
Just a simple hairdo and a plain robe, yet there was a beauty that washed away all worldly dust, something one could never tire of looking at.
“Master, I’m going out to find something tasty.”
Yan Hua’s voice rang out.
Before she finished speaking, a fiery red shadow shot out like a flash, leaving only a blur behind.
“Yan Hua…”
Bai Yue looked in the direction she disappeared, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes, but it quickly turned into a helpless smile.
Indeed, among these three disciples, if it came to a real fight, the last one she needed to worry about was Yan Hua.
Sure enough, in about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, that fiery shadow rushed back like a cannonball.
From afar, her excited shout could be heard.
“Master, Master, I caught a big one!”
Yan Hua ran up to Bai Yue, her little face flushed like a freshly picked apple.
But at the moment, she looked a bit messy, covered in black mud and grass, like a little wild cat that had just rolled in the dirt.
“Oh no, my clothes are dirty.”
Yan Hua looked down and finally realized her appearance, hurriedly trying to pat off the mud.
“Don’t move.”
Bai Yue raised her hand and used the Purification Technique.
A flash of spiritual light appeared at her fair fingertips, and the stains and grass on Yan Hua vanished instantly.
“Master, I didn’t mean to get dirty.”
Yan Hua, knowing she was in the wrong, stuck out her tongue in embarrassment.
The next second, she skillfully hugged Bai Yue’s arm again, using her best act of cuteness, her voice soft and pleading.
“Master, I want to eat braised Bear Paw!”
“Alright, alright, whatever you want.”
Bai Yue tapped her nose indulgently, powerless against her.
“Where’s the bear?”
“It’s in my Great Stomach.”
Yan Hua puffed up her cheeks like she was presenting a treasure, and casually spat out.
Thud!
With a dull thump, a black bear carcass the size of a small mountain appeared out of thin air, crashing onto the courtyard’s open ground.
“Then let me handle cutting up the Black Bear.”
Without waiting for Bai Yue’s instructions, Mu Chenxi had already walked over.
She pressed her fingers together like a sword, pale blue sword energy flickering at her fingertips.
Her figure moved lightly, circling the black bear, her fingertip drawing afterimages in the air.
The seemingly gentle sword energy was sharper than any blade in the world.
There was no blood, not even much noise—the sword energy slid through silently like invisible threads.
In a blink, the thick Bear Skin was peeled away, and the bear meat was perfectly divided by part.
Belly meat, leg meat, Bear Paw, bones…
Each piece was neatly arranged to the side, so clean and precise it was less like handling prey and more like creating a flawless work of art.
Next, it was Bai Yue’s turn to shine.
She expertly set up a campfire, skewered the succulent bear meat, and roasted it over the flames.
Oil sizzled and dripped, and the rich aroma of meat soon filled the entire courtyard.
In a large pot on the side, snowy Bear Bones simmered with spiritual herbs, the broth gradually turning milky white, releasing a tempting warmth.
The sky was growing colder, and the autumn wind was bleak outside, but by the fire it was warm and cozy.
The Master and her three disciples sat around the campfire.
Yan Hua ate with oil all over her mouth, looking like a little cat guarding her food, her cheeks stuffed full.
Mu Chenxi ate with the same grace as always, her movements elegant.
Su Qiuyue simply sat quietly beside Bai Yue.
As a Remnant Soul, she couldn’t enjoy physical food, but she didn’t seem to mind at all.
She just quietly leaned against Master, watching the flames dance on Master’s pale face, breathing in the scent of food in the air and the faint cool fragrance unique to Master.
Her watery eyes were filled with complete contentment.
When everyone was full, Su Qiuyue silently picked up the neatly processed Bear Skin.
She went to sit aside, her fingertips drawing out countless Soul Threads as fine as hair.
This was her unique secret art—Thousand Threads, Myriad Thoughts Secret Art.
The Soul Threads danced between her fingers, tanning, cutting, and sewing the thick Bear Skin.
Soon, a finely crafted, soft, and thick pure black cloak took shape.
She cradled the cloak, still warm with her soul power, and walked past the still-burping Yan Hua to Bai Yue’s side, quietly draping it over her.
The cloak, with the warmth of Bear Skin and the heat of spiritual power, instantly drove away all the cold around.
Bai Yue naturally took her hand as she tidied her collar.
It was a faint, unreal coolness, yet so tangible.
Su Qiuyue’s soul form trembled slightly, her pretty face flushing faintly.
She didn’t say a word, just sat down beside Bai Yue, clinging to her like a kitten seeking shelter.
Bai Yue was amused by her clinginess, pulling her into her embrace and wrapping the wide, warm cloak around them both.
“Shimei, do I have one?”
“You do. You brought down the bear, so I made you a Bear Head Hat.”
On Yan Hua’s head, a cute Bear Head Hat appeared, the round ears lifelike—clearly another of Su Qiuyue’s works.
Yan Hua was delighted with her gift and gave Su Qiuyue a thumbs up.
“Qiuyue, you’re amazing.”
Mu Chenxi received a Scarf woven by Su Qiuyue as well, which she immediately wrapped around herself before leaning against Bai Yue.
Looking at the three disciples before her.
One fiery and lively.
One gentle as water.
One reserved and clingy.
Bai Yue’s heart felt incredibly soft, and a gentle smile bloomed on her lips.
