Aililan was thinking.
When would be the best time to expose Fina Nisi’s cuckoldry? But that required the right moment.
Even though Briana Tell was also a blonde, for the time being, she was still quite useful to Aililan.
If she just wanted to watch a show and had Briana killed the next day, that wouldn’t suit Aililan’s interests. What she wanted was for the two blondes to fight each other, giving herself space to grow.
So, the key still lay with Pella. After some thought, Aililan gave Renata a task, saying, “Go find a few clever scouts and keep an eye on Pella’s movements.”
In a place unknown to others.
Pella’s movements were in full view.
By day, Pella was meticulously cared for, and by night, wantonly toyed with. The next day, she’d go seeking comfort, and so the cycle repeated itself, bound to break her down sooner or later.
Sometimes, Aililan wondered: If Pella could just settle down, would she be able to find a beautiful love? But alas, escaping one blonde only to be played by another—what a pity.
Not a single blonde is any good.
At a grand auction.
The two blondes finally met, bidding against each other for a dazzling Gemstone.
“Two thousand gold coins!”
Fina Nisi called out her bid. As long as she secured this beautiful Gemstone, surely she could win the hearts of even more girls, right?
“Two thousand and one gold coins!”
Briana Tell in the box also made her move, always adding just one gold coin more.
Spending lavishly for women had always been her pleasure. She’d even spent tens of thousands of gold coins to snatch Aililan’s earring. The only pity was that the Saintess was too reserved and pure for her tastes—at least for now.
Why “for now”? Because Briana also looked forward to the day…
When that noble, utterly pure Saintess would fall into the mortal world. By then, even she would go mad for her.
Briana turned her gaze to Pella beside her, speaking tenderly, “Miss Pella, only a Gemstone this brilliant is worthy of a lady like you, born to a prestigious family of the Holy Land. No matter the cost today, I will win it and give it to you.”
Yet Pella seemed even more uneasy and nervous, because she had recognized the voice bidding against Briana—it was Fina Nisi!
“Miss Pella?”
“Ah? Oh, I’m fine.”
“In that case, you just need to sit back and watch the show.”
“Br-Briana, why are you so nice to me? Are you really going to bid for such an expensive Gemstone and give it to me?”
“Because in my eyes, only you, Miss Pella, are worthy of this Gemstone. I’m looking forward to the moment I can personally put it on you!”
Pella: ……
When the price climbed to four thousand gold coins, Pella grew even more uneasy.
She, more than anyone, knew exactly how much money Fina Nisi currently had.
Any higher,
Fina Nisi simply couldn’t pay.
“Four thousand and…”
“Miss Briana.” Pella suddenly interrupted, somewhat embarrassed. “C-could you stop bidding? I already appreciate your intentions.”
Briana: “Hmm?”
“Please, I beg you.”
Briana smiled to herself, unseen. She knew Pella was wavering, so she sighed and said, “Since it’s Miss Pella’s request, I can only do as you wish.”
As expected,
The Gemstone was won by Fina Nisi.
Pella even let herself indulge in an unrealistic fantasy—maybe Fina Nisi would give her the Gemstone?
After the auction ended, Briana decided to meet the person who had bid against her.
With her status and position, she had long known exactly who her rival was.
The maid serving her was a bit confused, and asked privately, “Isn’t that the victim? Why would Lady Briana still go see her?”
The Housekeeper shot her a glare and lectured earnestly, “What do you know? For Lady Briana, stealing is important, but showing your face in front of the victim is also part of the fun.”
Pella, meanwhile, was growing more nervous.
The ever-considerate Briana comforted her, “Miss Pella, what’s the matter? Is it the Saintess asking you to accompany me on the Wine Estate inspection that’s troubling you?”
With those words, Pella’s mind suddenly cleared. That’s right… She was only at Briana’s side because she was following an order from Saintess Aililan.
And it had been given right in front of Fina Nisi that day.
A perfect excuse.
When the group met up—
“Pella!!!”
Fina Nisi shrieked, her eyes flashing with icy fury. She simply couldn’t stand her woman being with another woman.
“Captain Fina Nisi, let me explain. It was Saintess Aililan who instructed me that day, to accompany Miss Briana and help her inspect the Wine Estate site.”
“Everything.”
“Was just the Saintess’s order.”
Briana was about to mediate, but Fina Nisi had already snorted coldly, turned to leave, and shot Pella a vicious glare, as if warning her.
Seeing this, Briana raised her voice and said, “Captain Fina Nisi, losing your temper at a lady isn’t very gentlemanly, is it?”
Fina Nisi’s eyes were icy as she replied, “And who do you think you are?”
[Brazen.]
Briana’s guard was furious.
Great Swordsman Brian drew his sword, intending to teach Fina Nisi a lesson, but in the next instant his body was flung back like a ragdoll.
“Useless!”
Fina Nisi closed in step by step.
However, what Briana lacked least was guards; even more experts stepped up to shield her.
Pella was so anxious she was about to cry, shouting, “Stop, you mustn’t fight anymore!”
Just then, Aililan, under the protection of the Chastity Knights, arrived looking quite displeased.
Aililan was annoyed.
Those lousy guards—
There was no way they could kill Fina Nisi.
Aililan put on an angry face and said, “Fina Nisi, do you know where you are? This is the Inner City.”
Fina Nisi replied sullenly, “Of course I know.”
“Then do you know that a single brick dropped could accidentally kill several Noble retainers?”
“I…”
“Enough, Fina Nisi. As the Grandmaster of your knight order, you should be reasonable and broad-minded. Your spirit should be as vast as the stars and the sea. Your sword should strike down evil, not start a fight over a mere argument.”
Fina Nisi was furious.
She felt her blue hair was about to turn green. You want me to be broad-minded?
If your wife was stolen, let’s see how broad-minded you could be!
Just as she was about to explode, Aililan continued, “In broad daylight, if you publicly kill a Noble or harm innocent bystanders, you’re making things very difficult for me!”
Fina Nisi: ?
Difficult?
Then just don’t handle it!
And besides, what does the Saintess really mean by all this?
It seemed like she was siding with Briana, but on closer inspection, it was as if she was protecting Fina Nisi. In reality, she wasn’t favoring anyone, nor was she really protecting anyone—in fact, she seemed to be fanning the flames.
And yet, all of them had to act grateful to her.
Still, they had to say: Thank you, Saintess.
