“Brother, what happened to your face?”
Inside the Rental Apartment, Jiang Yu circled around his brother, staring at the inexplicably red mark on Jiang Xiao’s left cheek, and asked as such.
“Oh, that? My Girlfriend bit me!”
Jiang Xiao grinned, gazing fondly at the mark on his face, boasting with a look of happiness as he spoke.
Though honestly, he couldn’t actually see the mark on his own face.
His Girlfriend quietly pulled her scarf higher, hiding her slightly swollen and reddened lips.
The look on her face was clear to everyone—stifled, yet still secretly delighted.
“Sister-in-law bit you?”
Jiang Yu tilted his head, speaking in a cute tone.
Jiang Xiao nodded.
“Brother, here’s the Room Key.”
Jiang Li glanced at Song Qiuyu, who had quietly walked into the bedroom, then handed the Room Key she held over to her brother.
This Room Key had been given to her in advance after her brother talked with the Drama Club president.
It was Xie Zhuran who helped show the way to the Rental Apartment.
But it was all rather strange.
Brother should’ve gone back to look for Autumn Rain Bro, so why did a biting Sister-in-law appear out of nowhere?
Though, judging by the change in how he addressed her, they’d probably succeeded in getting together.
That’s a good thing.
Maybe she’d have a chance to meet this Sister-in-law during the Short-term Holiday.
“Brother, are you confident you can bring her home during the Short-term Holiday?”
She wanted to get a solid answer, so she could tell their parents when she got home.
“I’ll try my best.”
Jiang Xiao caught the Room Key, his voice lingering with happiness.
“Right, Ah Li, you and Ah Yu can sleep in my room for the next two days.”
“What about you, Brother?”
Jiang Li caught on to what her brother meant. He clearly didn’t intend to sleep with them, but where would he sleep?
“I’ll sleep on the sofa.”
With that, Jiang Xiao walked into his bedroom, took out a blanket, and laid it on the sofa.
Jiang Li hesitated, but thought being an obedient Little Sister in matters like this was probably best.
“But, I want to sleep with Brother!”
Jiang Yu hugged Jiang Xiao’s arm tightly, whining sweetly.
“Be good, sleep with your sister. I’ll take you both to the Theme Park nearby tomorrow!”
Jiang Xiao patted Jiang Yu’s head.
“Wow, we’re going to the Theme Park with Brother!”
Jiang Yu clapped joyfully and jumped in place a few times.
Jiang Li reacted indifferently, holding Jiang Yu’s hand and walking into the bedroom.
She personally didn’t care much about Theme Parks; right now, the only thing that interested her was the identity of this Sister-in-law, and…
…her brother’s relationship with Autumn Rain Bro.
Creak—the bedroom door closed, and at the same time, the door of the other bedroom opened.
Song Qiuyu basically came out right on cue, then casually handed the scarf she’d just taken off to Jiang Xiao, and sat herself down on the sofa.
“What’s up?”
Jiang Xiao pretended to ask, already knowing the answer.
He’d purposely stopped suddenly while kissing her on the hillside to test her reaction.
Sure enough, she was unhappy, or rather—frustrated and left wanting?
“I can’t sleep.”
Song Qiuyu looked elsewhere, her small hand scratching the back of her neck.
“Hmm?”
Jiang Xiao was momentarily stunned.
“When I think about you sleeping on the sofa alone, I just can’t sleep.”
Song Qiuyu turned to look at Jiang Xiao, frowning as she explained.
“Your logic’s a bit off.”
Jiang Xiao corrected her seriously: “Shouldn’t you be inviting me to your bed instead? Why come squeeze onto the sofa with me?”
Even if he was invited, he’d refuse without hesitation.
After all, the Girlfriend’s bed… was far too dangerous.
“I just like squeezing onto the sofa with you, is that not okay?” Song Qiuyu bit her lip hard and spoke with resolve.
“That…”
Jiang Xiao held back a laugh.
“Of course that’s fine. Let’s go wash up first.”
“Mm!”
Song Qiuyu nodded and got up from the sofa.
Like always, they helped each other, but this time, since both harbored certain thoughts, they became even more eager, to the point of racing to help each other.
After a while, the two finished washing up, took off their slippers, and squeezed together under a single blanket on the narrow sofa.
“Qiuyu…”
Jiang Xiao looked at Song Qiuyu, who had already closed her eyes, and spoke in a voice only the two of them could hear.
“Go on.”
Song Qiuyu opened her eyes a little.
“You’ve already rented another place outside, haven’t you?”
Jiang Xiao probed.
“Mm.”
Song Qiuyu nodded.
“You know what you should do next, right?” Jiang Xiao pressed further.
“I don’t know.”
Song Qiuyu rolled her eyes.
“Then think about it…”
Of course Song Qiuyu knew what Jiang Xiao was thinking—he just wanted her not to move out. So she decisively cut him off: “No way.”
“You just said you didn’t know!” Jiang Xiao was half amused, half exasperated.
“It’s only five days anyway.” Song Qiuyu closed her eyes again.
Jiang Xiao was silent for a couple of seconds, then coughed. “Qiuyu, don’t forget, right now you’re a Girlfriend who really, really likes her boyfriend!”
It was as if someone had hit Song Qiuyu’s start button—she opened her eyes wide, looking determined.
Seeing this, Jiang Xiao’s lips parted. He didn’t know what to say.
He’d wanted to keep kissing her then, but even if he gave in to his own desire and hers, she’d always sober up afterwards and brush her teeth ruthlessly.
Although the atmosphere was a bit awkward right now, at least she was still—completely obsessed with being stopped at the verge of a kiss!
He needed to make Qiuyu take the initiative to want him more.
Only then, even after these five days were over…
Just as he was thinking this, the person beside him scooted closer, obediently nestling her small head against his shoulder.
He tensed up all over.
That faint, elegant fragrance lingered at his nose; her soft body pressed tightly against his arm, slender arms hugging him, making his heart race.
If it’s like this, is she really just acting?
Jiang Xiao wanted to believe it wasn’t only acting.
Right then, the doorknob began to turn—without warning.
That doorknob belonged to the room where Jiang Li and Jiang Yu were sleeping.
Not good!
Jiang Xiao froze, then saw the person clinging to his arm suddenly burrow under the blanket, and to keep the blanket from bulging too much, she even shifted her whole body onto his, practically hanging off him.
They were pressed so tightly together, not even air could pass through—she’d even squished little Jiang Xiao’s space, sitting right on him.
She probably thought that was enough, but in reality, it wasn’t.
Slippers!
At the critical moment, Jiang Xiao hooked Song Qiuyu’s two slippers with his foot and kicked them with a swish into a far corner.
Thankfully, even though he hadn’t played soccer in ages, his kick was still fast and accurate.
Whew…
He wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead, still rattled.
Creak—the door to the bedroom opened.
