Northern side of the Dea Plateau, Huoyun Island.
“No…no, this is bad, my body feels awful, my source power is draining away again!”
Still completely naked, Heavenly Fire knelt on the ground, one hand clutching her stomach, the other bracing herself on the earth, her face twisted in pain.
This was already the third time she had spoken to Truth like this.
“The newly-born Will of Calamity can’t leave the Core Region for too long… There’s a rule like that?”
Truth frowned as she looked down at Heavenly Fire beneath her feet.
She had originally planned to take this little one back to Mist first, but every time she tried to pick her up, Heavenly Fire would cry out, “It hurts! It hurts!”
Then she’d say she was born too early and needed Huoyun Island’s energy to sustain herself, or she’d unravel and dissipate.
This was rather troublesome. Little Fire couldn’t leave Huoyun Island, but killing her would be a pity; after all, Truth was quite fond of that innocent and easily embarrassed character setting of hers.
She couldn’t take her back to play with slowly…
And she herself couldn’t just stay here to watch over Little Fire—she had to manage Mist and level up, too.
Not to mention, Little Fire had the highest authority over Huoyun Island.
If Truth left, she worried that Little Fire might just sail off with the island.
At this very moment, Mist was still moving west at full speed.
After some thought, Truth decided to have Heavenly Fire stop Huoyun Island for now:
“Little Fire, just park Huoyun Island here for the moment.”
“But, I’ve never tried controlling a floating island before…”
Heavenly Fire looked puzzled and confused.
But inwardly, she was already grinning.
Hehe, thank goodness her acting was top-notch; she hadn’t let this wretched Demon drag her back to its lair.
With her charming and adorable appearance, she’d managed to stump the Demon.
After all, anyone would feel an overwhelming urge to protect something as cute as herself, right?
Although this Demon’s “human” mindset was interesting, in the end, she was still the better player!
Heavenly Fire silently praised herself, then put on a pitiful face and looked at Truth.
As soon as Truth left, she’d escape immediately.
She vowed never to set foot in the Dea Plateau alone again until she broke through to the Second King Tier.
From now on, she’d skirt around from the snowy plains whenever she went to the Land of Exile.
“Just give it a try, everything has a first time.”
Truth patted Heavenly Fire on the head, and after a few shy, loli-like murmurs, Heavenly Fire finally tried “controlling Huoyun Island” for the first time.
If she slowed down and stopped the island now, it’d be easier to escape later!
After a few breaths of “difficult manipulation,” Huoyun Island was finally brought to a halt by Heavenly Fire.
“Not bad at all.”
Truth patted Heavenly Fire’s head again:
“Next, just stay here and wait for me a little while. I have to go take care of some important business, and after that, I’ll have plenty of time to spend with you. I’ll even bring you several beautiful outfits that suit you perfectly, and teach you a few…”
Truth leaned in and whispered in Heavenly Fire’s ear:
“Even more comfortable things, you know.”
“Ugh…”
Heavenly Fire was so startled she staggered back several steps, turning her head away as if shy, but in reality, she was gritting her teeth behind Truth’s back.
This wretched creature! How dare she keep trampling on my dignity—no way!
Heavenly Fire had no idea what Truth had just done to her.
Although there was a strange sort of pleasure, the electrifying sensation that had run through her whole body at the end still frightened her, and made her lose face in front of her Disciples in a way she hadn’t in hundreds of years.
But Heavenly Fire was sure the Blood Demon was nothing good, so whatever she’d done definitely wasn’t anything decent!
She’d been humiliated in front of her Disciples!
She could still recall Elis’s shocked, confused, and dazed expression at that moment.
She’d clearly told her not to watch, but Elis had witnessed everything from start to finish, and then she, Heavenly Fire, had even trembled and sprayed some weird liquid in front of her…
Unbelievable! She, the Will of Firelan Isle, had actually sprayed water—this was as humiliating as forcing a flat-chested girl to wear a D-cup bra!
Thinking of this, Heavenly Fire secretly shot a glare at Elis, who was standing aside trying her best to shrink her presence.
Elis, feeling terribly guilty, fixed her gaze on the distant, towering Northern Frontier Mountains.
Whoa, those mountains really are…mountains!
“I’ll be off then. I’ll have Elis stay here and keep you company. She bears my mark—if you need anything, just tell her… Eh? Why is there a flame symbol flashing on your forehead?”
Just as she was about to return and prepare Mist for its grand opening, Truth suddenly noticed the strange mark on Heavenly Fire’s forehead.
Cold sweat instantly broke out on Heavenly Fire—oh no, why would someone try to contact her now!
Usually, Heavenly Fire was never secretive, so unlike Truth—who’d let messages pile up in Mist’s core until she went to check—Heavenly Fire always had auto-answer and speaker mode turned on.
Whenever someone contacted her through Firelan Isle, the message would immediately pop up.
Sure enough, a massive projection appeared before the three of them on the floating island—a gigantic dragon, pitch black from head to tail.
Truth instantly recognized the dragon type; it was a bit smaller than regular dragons, its body covered with tough black spikes, with black smoke constantly rising from it.
“A Demonic Dragon?”
A Demonic Dragon? Weren’t they with the Demonic King Faction? Why would they be contacting Huoyun Island? Could it be that the former Will of Calamity she’d driven off had secretly been collaborating with the Demonic King Faction all along?
Truth didn’t speak up, simply stood quietly to the side, watching the exchange between the Demonic Dragon and loli Heavenly Fire.
“Hm? Heavenly Fire, why have you become so small?”
The Demonic Dragon spoke first, and loli Heavenly Fire had no idea how to explain, stammering all the while.
Thankfully, the Demonic Dragon didn’t dwell on it:
“I didn’t expect you could shift your human form at will.”
“W-what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just saying. Still, you seem a lot more timid now—is it a side effect of your new form, or did something happen?”
The dragon glanced at Truth and Elis nearby—hmm, a Tier 2 Priest and an intermediate Disciple.
What was Heavenly Fire doing with two ants like this?
“We noticed your floating island stopped at the Dea Plateau, so we came to check. After all, Desecration got killed here, so we have to be on guard. You haven’t run into any trouble, have you?”
“No trouble…”
“Figured. With your strength, nothing much should bother you. Anyway, don’t delay—hurry over, everyone else is almost here. The Demon God says we’re going to try to elevate that Legendary Item to the level of Forbidden, and your power is essential.”
With that, the dragon cut the connection. In the next instant, Truth’s face appeared right in front of Heavenly Fire:
“Little Fire, what do you mean ‘try to elevate a Legendary Item to Forbidden’? Does that mean Huoyun Island’s destination holds a Legendary Item?”
So, the old Heavenly Fire really was involved with the Demonic King Faction, and their reason for heading to the Land of Exile was tied to Legendary and Forbidden Items!
Heavenly Fire was now sweating even more profusely.
Oh no, it seemed this Blood Demon was coming up with some dangerous ideas…
She’s not seriously planning to steal the Demon God’s treasure, is she?!
