Even without a bodyguard, Demons wouldn’t be able to take me… Oh ho, so arrogant?
Omili looked down at the little one before her and grinned.
As expected, just as she thought, Truth must be feeling invincible because of the Old Grandmother—who was probably at least Nine-Rank or even Ten-tier—inside her:
“Hmph, I knew you’d say something like that. I already heard from Goddess about it! There’s a senior hidden in your body, right? That’s why you’re so fearless.”
“Oh, you found out about that?” Truth covered her mouth with a surprised expression.
“Of course! Don’t underestimate my connections!”
“Did Goddess tell you just how amazing the senior inside me is?”
“Uh… well… her Herbalism is absolutely incredible!”
“You even know that?”
Now Truth was sure. Omili had gotten her information from Aisia. So, Truth crouched down and casually picked up a blade of wild grass, continuing,
“Then, do you know… just how high the upper limit of Herbalism is?”
“Upper limit? It should be something like bringing people back from the dead or granting eternal youth, right? Wait, don’t tell me you think you can rely on herbalism alone to avoid being targeted by Demons?”
“Why couldn’t I?”
“How is that possible?! What, can you concoct some ‘Escape to Heaven Potion’? Never mind whether you can brew it, just gathering ingredients of that level on the Dea Plateau is already a problem!”
Potions effective against Demons had to be at least Extraordinary grade.
And that was the bare minimum—the Church normally used even higher Epic Equipment or Epic or Above Equipment grade potions to fight Demons!
But where would you even get those Epic Equipment ingredients?
Since Epic Equipment materials were so expensive, they rarely circulated on the market.
If you wanted them, you usually had to gather them yourself. But if you did…
Wouldn’t Demons sniff you out by the scent?
So, no matter what, you still needed a bodyguard!
“That’s how you think about it? Looks like your understanding of Herbalism is very limited.” Truth waved the small, green blade of grass in front of Omili.
“What? Are you saying you can avoid being targeted by Demons with just that blade of grass?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“So, I’ll make you believe me. Tell me… shall we play something fun next?”
Truth took a step back and winked at Omili.
Perhaps due to a certain special allure, her petite form instantly made Omili’s mouth water, as if saying: as long as Omili played with her, she’d satisfy all of Omili’s base desires…
“P-Play what?” Omili unconsciously glanced down at her feet, her expression slowly turning perverted.
“Cat-and-Mouse Game! The rules are simple. If you can catch me within the next ten minutes, I’ll let you do whatever you want with me. No matter what request you make, I’ll agree to it.”
On the other hand, if you don’t catch me, then you have to agree not to assign me a bodyguard, and no matter what I do in the future, you have to cover for me.”
Let you do whatever I want?!
Filtering out all the irrelevant words, Omili immediately began to rub her hands together at those four key words. What, was Truth selling herself to me?!
Good, good, looks like I’ll have to take you down a notch.
Even though I’m not as skilled at scouting as Shadow Demons or Abyss Demons, I’m still Nine-Rank.
With the support of the Space Element and Shadow Element, I’m no worse at tracking people than an Eight-Rank Assassin.
“No problem! But let’s be clear, I’m not going to go easy on you!”
Dreaming of hugging a cute little loli to sleep every night in the future, Omili agreed without hesitation.
What’s a Cat-and-Mouse Game?
I’m a Nine-Rank Elementalist with mastery over Space and Shadow! How could I possibly lose to a little Priestling like Truth?
So Omili couldn’t help but burst out laughing:
“Guhehehe…”
Truth flashed her a sweet smile in return:
“Are you ready? We’re starting, three, two, one…”
Then, Truth slightly parted her cherry lips, stuck out her pink tongue, and, right in front of Omili, gently held the blade of grass in her mouth. Just as Omili blinked, Truth whispered softly:
“Start.”
In the next instant, Truth vanished from Omili’s sight, without any warning or delay.
And Omili only blinked once:
“Eh?”
Gone?!
The moon was slowly rising. In the massive BOSS territory, aside from the still-trembling Crimson-Backed Centipede, only Omili remained, stunned and standing in place. She glanced around in astonishment:
“Truth?”
“What’s wrong? Ten seconds have already passed.” Truth’s gentle voice echoed from all directions.
Only now did Omili realize—oh no, this Priestling actually has something up her sleeve!
How did she do it? Do Priests have stealth skills? Or was there something odd about that wild grass she picked?
Omili immediately crouched to examine the grass blade Truth had picked, but found nothing unusual.
So, she placed her left palm flat on the ground, commanding all elemental forces within a kilometer to listen to her orders.
At the slightest disturbance, she would instantly teleport over!
But after five breaths, Omili heard only the wind…and the rustling of grass…
Could Truth have already run far away?!
Omili directly teleported into the sky, the sound of space twisting thundering around her.
Starting from the Crimson-Backed Centipede’s territory, she began to teleport frantically outward at a rate so fast it looked like she was using a clone technique, diving into Shadow Space now and then to search for traces of the Element of Life.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
In the Elite Monster Thornbug Cocoon’s territory, Karen and the others looked up in terror at the twisted starry sky.
Under Omili’s spatial fluctuations, the once peaceful night sky slowly transformed into Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
“What’s going on…” Kovado hugged Anderson in fear, never having seen such a sight before. Then Anderson shoved him away:
“Get off me, man!” …
High in the sky, Omili was starting to vanish.
She stretched out three fingers with her left hand for a quick divination, while her right hand controlled water, fire, earth, wind, space, and shadow—the six elements she knew best—to sweep for any sign of the Element of Life.
But the little Priestling seemed not to have disturbed the Element of Life at all.
That meant she hadn’t used any skills.
She couldn’t be found. Absolutely couldn’t be found…
Five minutes passed. Omili had tried every trick she had, but still couldn’t even pinpoint Truth’s general location:
“This doesn’t make sense?”
“What’s wrong?” Truth’s voice echoed in Omili’s ear again, making her jump:
“You didn’t run far?”
“Why would I run? I’ve been nearby you all along.” …
By the campfire, just as Karen and the others were relieved to see the twisted starry sky returning to normal, the next second, the whole world started to shake.
The three of them hugged the nearest tree trunk in fright:
“Another earthquake?!”
“No, it’s not just an earthquake, look over there!” Kovado pointed into the distance.
There, a twenty-meter-high water tornado was raging through the forest.
And that wasn’t all. Next came a continuous, violent gale that nearly blew the three of them away, followed soon after by a blazing fire scorching the entire ruins!
Now, the trio was surrounded by earthquakes, water tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, and… a twisted starry sky!
“What is this mess, did we violate Heaven’s law or something?!” Karen felt like she’d encountered every natural disaster in the world tonight.
But really, it was nothing much—Omili was just going all out, trying to dig three feet into the ground to find Truth.
