Mu Chenxi was relieved when she saw that Master didn’t blame her.
She unconsciously tightened her grip on Bai Yue’s jade hand.
Master was always so tolerant of her, able to forgive her even when she was being so willful…
“Master, Senior Sister, can I go in now?”
Su Qiuyue asked again.
Hearing Su Qiuyue’s question, Mu Chenxi’s heart, which had just calmed down, tensed up once more.
But she also realized that the pressing matter now was the Fire Demon.
If Qiuyue could truly repair the Soul in Master’s Sea of Consciousness, then the threat of the Fire Demon could surely be resolved with ease.
Thinking this, she could only nod at Su Qiuyue in agreement.
“Mm, Qiuyue, come in.”
Bai Yue also nodded at Su Qiuyue.
Su Qiuyue hesitated no longer. Her remnant Soul turned into a thread of blood-red light, slipped into Bai Yue’s body, and smoothly entered Bai Yue’s Sea of Consciousness.
Inside Bai Yue’s Sea of Consciousness, Su Qiuyue saw not a hot spring scene, nor any of the other places Mu Chenxi had visited before.
This place was arranged especially warmly.
The walls were a soft yellow, covered with all sorts of cartoon character stickers.
On the floor were many toys that Su Qiuyue didn’t recognize: toy cars, building blocks, and several cute plushies.
Bai Yue wore a pink-and-white dress, her long hair braided to one side with a pink hairpin, the braid draping over her chest, radiating a gentle and approachable aura.
But what surprised Su Qiuyue even more was that her own body had shrunk to that of a child, covered in injuries that throbbed with pain.
“Aiya, little Qiuyue, come here. How did you get hurt again?”
“Come over here. Bai Yue Mama will take care of your wounds.”
Bai Yue beckoned to Su Qiuyue, and at some point, a Healing Kit had appeared in her hand.
The tiny Su Qiuyue looked at Bai Yue’s gentle, waving hand and, without realizing it, walked over on her short legs.
“You little one, always so mischievous, getting yourself all hurt.”
Bai Yue picked up Su Qiuyue, affectionately pinching her little nose.
With her other hand, she opened the Healing Kit and gently dabbed Su Qiuyue’s wounds with an iodine-soaked cotton swab to disinfect them.
The movements were especially gentle, and Su Qiuyue only felt a cool touch.
The pain in her wounds gradually faded, driven away by a soft warmth.
Unable to help herself, Su Qiuyue reached out her small arms and hugged Bai Yue, staring at her in a daze.
Bai Yue smiled softly at her, teasing, “Why are you staring at me so blankly? Is there something on my face?”
“There’s nothing on Master’s face. It’s just… when Master takes care of me, it reminds me of my Mother.”
Su Qiuyue answered softly, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
The more Bai Yue acted like her Mother, the more she missed her.
“Don’t be sad. Bai Yue Mama will help you rescue your Mother in the future.”
Bai Yue gently ruffled Su Qiuyue’s small head, comforting her with a soft voice.
“Really? Master, are you sure you can return to the past?”
Su Qiuyue’s round eyes widened, longing for Bai Yue’s firm answer.
“Of course. Bai Yue Mama would never lie to you.”
Bai Yue smiled.
“If you don’t believe me, let’s make a Lakhook Oath, okay?”
“Lakhook Oath?”
Su Qiuyue was startled, then hesitantly stretched out her small hand, revealing her little finger.
Bai Yue also extended her little finger, hooking it with Su Qiuyue’s and softly recited:
“Lakhook, hang high, never break for a hundred years.”
“Master, a hundred years isn’t that long for us cultivators.”
Su Qiuyue suddenly spoke up, her tone unconsciously serious.
She froze for a moment herself.
At first, she’d thought the Lakhook Oath was childish.
But when her fingertip truly hooked tightly with Bai Yue’s, feeling the warmth of her skin, she couldn’t help but become earnest, unwilling to let even the smallest detail slide.
Bai Yue seemed amused by her seriousness, lightly rubbing her fingertip against Su Qiuyue’s little finger.
“Then let’s do as you say. If a hundred years isn’t enough, then ten thousand, a hundred thousand, a million years—no matter what, our promise will always hold.”
Su Qiuyue couldn’t tell if Bai Yue’s words were just to comfort her or if she truly believed she could fulfill them.
However, looking at Bai Yue’s gentle smile, feeling the soft embrace around her, and that small hooked finger that wouldn’t let go, Su Qiuyue felt her heavy heart gradually lighten.
There were still many wounds on Su Qiuyue’s body.
Bai Yue carefully cleaned and disinfected each one with iodine, then wrapped them with gauze.
Her movements were so tender, as if protecting a fragile treasure.
Su Qiuyue felt completely enveloped in warmth.
She gazed at Bai Yue’s focused, gentle profile and found herself lost in the feeling of being cared for.
Immersed in that gentleness, she didn’t even realize when she fell asleep in Bai Yue’s arms.
When Su Qiuyue opened her eyes again, her consciousness had already withdrawn from Bai Yue’s Sea of Consciousness.
Instinctively, she looked toward Bai Yue and saw that Bai Yue was limp, collapsed in Mu Chenxi’s embrace.
“Qiuyue, how is it? Did you see Master?”
Mu Chenxi hurried forward, her voice full of nervousness.
She still couldn’t relax, afraid Su Qiuyue might have peeked at Master.
“I saw Master, but I didn’t encounter the hot spring scene Senior Sister mentioned.”
Su Qiuyue replied.
“That’s good…”
Mu Chenxi breathed a sigh of relief, then immediately asked,
“No, that’s not important. How’s your remnant Soul? Has it healed?”
Suppressing her questions, she focused on the most critical issue.
Su Qiuyue heard this, concentrated on sensing herself, then shook her head at Mu Chenxi.
“My remnant Soul doesn’t seem much different from before.”
“No change…”
Mu Chenxi couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
It seemed relying solely on Qiuyue to resolve the Fire Demon wasn’t feasible.
“What did Master look like to you? What was the scene like?”
Mu Chenxi asked about the things she cared about most.
Su Qiuyue thought for a moment.
“The Master I saw… I’d never seen that outfit before. A pink-and-white dress, hair in a side braid with a pink hairpin at the end, draping over her chest. Anyway, Master was very beautiful.”
“The scene was a room. It felt warm, with yellow walls and lots of toys on the floor that I didn’t recognize.”
“Qiuyue, I’ve never entered that scene, either. Can you show me what it looked like at the time…?”
Mu Chenxi clearly felt it was inappropriate but couldn’t resist making the request.
“Senior Sister, do you really want to see?”
Su Qiuyue asked hesitantly.
She knew Mu Chenxi’s feelings for Master were special, and she herself seemed to have become a bit too intimate with Master inside the Sea of Consciousness…
“Yes, show me. I’ve entered Master’s Sea of Consciousness more times than you, so maybe I can give you some pointers.”
Such a poor excuse, and she even emphasized her multiple visits to Bai Yue.
Mu Chenxi was obviously not speaking sincerely.
She herself was also lost in Bai Yue’s Sea of Consciousness, unable to provide any real guidance.
“Alright then, Senior Sister, take a look.”
