“Is it possible—just saying, is it possible that Instructor Behemoth is actually on the third floor, and Xiaoxi is only on the second floor? Maybe she didn’t think much about it, just didn’t want to kill the other trainees, so she held back?”
“You know, that actually sounds a lot like Xiaoxi’s personality (laughs)”
“Yeah, I used to wonder, since she was already going all out, why did she draw that line behind her and say those harsh words? Turns out, that’s the reason!”
“Schemer Xiaoxi.”
“What if Xiaoxi just wanted to look cool? (side-eye smile)”
Instructor Behemoth’s murmured explanation seemed to resolve the audience’s confusion about why Yun Ruoxi suddenly turned on the trainees so ruthlessly.
Although some viewers still had their own opinions, as the camera sensibly cut back to Yun Ruoxi’s cubicle, their attention was quickly drawn in by the shocking scene.
The camera swept overhead like a drone.
After several rounds of combat, the surviving trainees stood scattered, as if facing a man-eating beast.
And at the center of their encirclement stood a lone blue-haired girl.
She was barefoot, standing in a pool of blood; her fair feet were covered in thick, sticky blood. All around her, more than thirty unconscious trainees lay sprawled, limbs tangled.
Her blood-soaked figure swayed slightly. Each step forward sent new ripples through the crimson pool.
The trainee she had locked onto swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing under the piercing stare of those murderous red eyes—his face frozen with terror, body rooted to the spot.
And in just the past five minutes—
Everyone who attacked her, or whom she set her sights on, or anyone who tried to cross that Death Line, was, without exception, brutally “killed” by this seemingly delicate blue-haired girl!
Yet, despite so many casualties, only a scant few trainees had managed to even scratch her.
So now—
Gazing at the exhausted blue-haired girl, the trainees knew that victory would eventually be theirs. Yet, not one of them wanted to step forward, to become the sacrificial pawn who wore Yun Ruoxi down.
But as before—
If they wouldn’t come to her, Yun Ruoxi went to them.
Step by step, she advanced, leaving a trail of gradually fading bloody footprints.
The trainee under her gaze breathed faster and faster, until, unable to withstand the crushing psychological pressure, he finally let out a desperate roar and charged at her!
That shout was like a signal; no matter how unwilling, the surrounding trainees all rushed in as well. They could not let Yun Ruoxi pick them off one by one!
In an instant—
Countless figures shot toward a single target like arrows.
Yet the result was nearly identical to before.
Even though her five senses had been sealed far beyond normal human limits, and her stamina was drained after round after round of combat—
Yun Ruoxi’s martial skills were simply too superior, and she wore upgraded gear provided by Lin Zhen.
She swung her right arm fiercely, and her round shield spun out at high speed, knocking aside several people before snapping back with a “whoosh,” magnetically locking onto her forearm.
Blocking the Alloy Great Axe that hacked down from behind her.
Perhaps the only lesson humanity ever learns from history is that humanity never learns any lesson from history at all.
Despite so many examples, another trainee still tried to seize the moment during Yun Ruoxi’s battle to cross the Death Line, charging straight toward Aili.
“You’re looking for death!”
Yun Ruoxi shouted, slamming her left hand to the ground and flipping into a handstand.
Electric gloves, output at full power!
Blinding arcs of electricity raced along the alloy floor.
The trainees surrounding her instantly went stiff, paralyzed on the spot.
Immediately after—
She bent her left arm and pushed up.
A nimble somersault sent her behind the crowd, and she shot toward the line-crosser like an arrow released from a bow.
Da-da-da-da—!
The girl’s footsteps were blindingly fast; like a blue bolt of lightning, she closed in, now only five meters from her target’s back.
But at that moment, she suddenly realized—the figure looked incredibly familiar.
In that split second of distraction, the person ahead abruptly stopped, dropped her weapon, and turned around.
It was a petite girl—plain-faced, but still rather pretty and sweet.
A collar hung around her neck, even larger than her own head, displaying her number—
319.
It’s her?
Behemoth actually called even that psycho over…
A thousand thoughts flashed through Yun Ruoxi’s mind.
She let the shock show on her face at just the right moment, halting the raised dagger abruptly in midair.
“319, how… you’re in here too?”
Yun Ruoxi’s face was twisted with struggle, eyes brimming with pain.
Her right hand clenched the dagger’s hilt, index finger pressed to the retractable switch.
The dagger’s tip hovered half a meter from 319’s chest.
A single press would extend the blade in an instant—enough to pierce straight through the other girl’s heart.
But she couldn’t press it—because this was the roommate she’d lived with, day in and day out, for six whole months.
Though not sisters, strictly speaking, they had still been close friends—able to confide in each other during the day and before sleep.
So even now, in this life-or-death struggle, being forced to kill her was almost impossibly hard.
When Yun Ruoxi turned and saw 319, the show replayed her shifting expression in slow motion—shock melting into pain—then cut to warm memories of the two of them together.
Moments of training, quiet complaints, whispered conversations after lights-out.
Joking about which male trainee was handsome, sharing secret giggles.
But perhaps the production team did it on purpose.
The carefully chosen flashbacks were all heartwarming moments; the darker truths were left out, making their friendship seem even more tender and close.
“Wow, Behemoth’s ruthless—he even stuck Xiaoxi’s roommate among the enemies.”
“Behemoth: If you won’t kill your own sister, I’ll make you kill your own roommate.”
“Xiaoxi has it way too tough.”
“Maybe there’s still hope. If Xiaoxi and 319 can both awaken at the brink of death, maybe the War Camp will spare them.”
“I don’t think 319 will make it—probably just here as a sacrificial lamb for Xiaoxi’s growth.”
“It’s me, Blue Hair.”
319’s eyes brimmed with tears, her voice choked. “When I got the order, I still hoped for a miracle. But the moment I saw you here…”
She raised her trembling right hand, pitiful and remorseful, looking at Yun Ruoxi with concern.
“I tried to harden my heart, to kill you—but I just couldn’t. I really couldn’t. I hid at the back of the crowd, hypnotized myself again and again, but whenever I raised my knife and aimed at you…”
She gave a self-deprecating laugh. “All I could think of were the memories of these six months together, and then my hands just kept shaking.”
“But you still came charging at me.”
Yun Ruoxi bit her lower lip hard. At last, tears began to roll down her cheeks.
“I’m sorry, 319…”
“No, I didn’t charge at you to become your enemy.”
319 bit down on her lower lip.
Her gaze passed over Yun Ruoxi, looking at the trainees charging from behind, and said with determination:
“I’ve made up my mind—even if the road ahead is full of danger, I want to fight by your side.”
