Magic Feather Fantasy.
“Captain Su Nian, maybe we shouldn’t fight him. I’ll go find the city guards to handle this,” Amy said beside Su Nian, her voice laced with concern.
“Relax, your captain can easily take them down,” Su Nian replied, arms crossed, reassuring the ever-gentle Amy.
“If Captain Su Nian says she can win, then I believe you.”
“A duel it is! Go, Captain!”
The carefree Lise cheered from the side.
At that moment, all the staff of Magic Feather Fantasy had gathered to support Su Nian.
They knew better than anyone there were no tricks or props involved.
The breathtaking magic castles and snow effects were all conjured by Captain Su Nian herself.
Realizing this, their worries about the duel vanished.
Just then, another commotion erupted outside.
Soon, another group surged into Magic Feather Fantasy like a tide.
They were the newly formed Magic Feather Fantasy Fan Club, rushing over upon hearing about the troublemakers.
The fan club members flooded in, their faces flushed with urgency and anger.
They brandished hastily made signs and makeshift weapons, their eyes filled with determination to protect Su Nian.
Leading them was a lean young man named Evan, his gaze resolute as he waved a wooden stick.
“Whoever dares to mess with Magic Feather Fantasy will have to go through us first!” Evan shouted.
Evan was Amy’s older brother, a steadfast supporter of her singing career.
After being awestruck by Su Nian’s debut performance the previous night, he had founded this fan club.
“That’s right, they’ll have to go through us!” the fan club members echoed.
Oscar’s expression darkened further, jealousy burning fiercely within him.
He never expected a mere idol from a small performance troupe to command such loyal and passionate followers.
Would his own mage underlings ever stand up for him like this?
With a venomous glare at Evan, Oscar sneered, “A bunch of fools who don’t know their place! No one can save her today!”
His wand blazed with intense light as powerful magic gathered around him, readying for a fiercer assault.
Standing on stage, Su Nian watched the crowd rallying for her, warmth swelling in her heart.
She took a deep breath, her face regaining its confident and resolute expression.
“Don’t worry, everyone. I’ll handle this matter properly today,” Su Nian declared, stepping slowly onto the expanded stage in the center of the hall.
“Come on then. I’m right here you can all come at me if you want.”
Standing at the center of the stage, Su Nian seemed enveloped in a faint, ethereal glow, like a goddess descended to earth.
Beneath her breathtaking beauty lay a formidable power ready to be unleashed.
She tilted her chin up slightly, her gaze icy yet unwavering as it locked onto Oscar, the leader of the troublemakers.
Oscar’s anger flared at the sight.
“I’ll take you on!” he roared, leaping onto the Magic Feather Fantasy stage alone.
What did she mean by “all of you”?
Did she think so little of him?
Once onstage, Oscar swung his wand violently, conjuring a basketball-sized fireball wreathed in scorching heat in his palm.
The next moment-
The fireball streaked toward Su Nian like a meteor, scorching the air along its path and causing it to warp with a sizzling sound.
Yet Su Nian remained unruffled, a faint smile curling at the corners of her lips.
With a graceful sweep of her right hand, she traced an arc in the air and murmured softly, “Water Barrier.”
In an instant, a crystalline curtain of water materialized before her, standing firm as a shield.
The fireball collided with the watery barrier, flames scattering and steam billowing.
Lise, meanwhile, pumped her fist excitedly and shouted, “Go, Captain Su Nian!”
The staff of Magic Feather Fantasy held their breaths, their eyes locked onto Su Nian’s figure.
Oscar, seeing his attack fail, grew even more furious.
He muttered an incantation under his breath, and as light flickered at the tip of his wand, several sharp ice spikes shot forth toward Su Nian.
Against a water barrier, the more conventional ice magic clearly held an advantage over fire.
The ice spikes gleamed coldly, like deadly blades, their speed making evasion impossible.
Su Nian’s eyes sharpened.
Her hands moved swiftly, her magic responding to her will.
The next moment-
Every drop of water in the vicinity seemed to answer her call.
Even the ice spikes Oscar had launched “halted” midair, their control wrested away by Su Nian.
In an instant, dozens of ice spikes hovered around Oscar, the closest one mere centimeters from his neck.
He could already feel the biting chill of its edge.
The once-proud Oscar paled instantly, collapsing to the ground in terror.
“Is this all you’ve got? And you dared challenge me?” Su Nian said disdainfully, her voice clear yet carrying an undeniable authority.
The room fell into stunned silence, everyone awestruck by Su Nian’s overwhelming magical prowess.
After a beat, the Magic Feather Fantasy staff snapped out of their daze first.
Cheering wildly, they rushed onto the stage, surrounding Su Nian.
“Captain Su Nian, you’re amazing!”
“Now this is a true master of magic!”
Lise leaped up in excitement, hugging Su Nian.
“I knew you’d win, Captain!”
Amy approached as well, a relieved smile on her face.
“Captain Su Nian, you truly didn’t let us down.”
Further back, the members of the fan club erupted into cheers.
“Did they really think they could take on our magical idol Su Nian? No match at all!”
“Wow, I barely blinked and the duel was over. The magic academy students are that weak?”
“Coming here to pick a fight only to get instantly crushed-how embarrassing.”
“This is what the magic academy students are made of?”
The fan club members clearly weren’t about to pass up the chance to mock the troublemakers.
Yet just as everyone basked in the joy of victory and the defeated mages hung their heads, a figure suddenly appeared at the hall’s entrance.
The magic academy students squinted-then their eyes widened in recognition.
It was Sains, the dean of the magic academy’s academic affairs office.
One of the Twelve Grand Archmages, the Starflare Archmage!
In an instant, the previously dejected students perked up, rallying toward their dean with renewed confidence.
Sains stepped into the hall of Magic Feather Fantasy, his piercing gaze taking in the scene before him in a single sweep.
“Oscar, you’ve certainly made quite a scene here.”
Sains’ voice, deep and commanding, echoed through the hall, instantly silencing everyone.
Upon hearing Sains, a flicker of hope flashed across Oscar’s ashen face.
He scrambled over on his hands and knees to stand before him.
“Director Sains, you must uphold justice for us! This Su Nian―her magic is downright sinister. She must have used some underhanded methods!”
“We merely came on behalf of the Magic Academy to discuss matters, yet she attacked us without hesitation. And they even dared to insult our Red Maple Magic Academy-clearly looking down on us!”
Oscar sobbed dramatically, though a faint glint of cunning flickered in his eyes.
