“Meow~”
“Life isn’t bad now, meow~ Plenty to eat and drink~ How many people can envy this~”
Xu Yinsheng mimicked a cat, ignoring the strange gazes from everyone present.
She squinted her eyes and let out a satisfied yawn, then lazily stretched~
“He’s not bad looking either, generous with his money, with a breakup fee of at least ten million yuan, not counting a few houses. A man like this is hard to find even if you search with a lantern.”
“Why would I even think about running away?”
Chen Kedi’s expression gradually stiffened—regretful, ugly, gloomy—finally turning into a long sigh.
At this point, he no longer intended to say anything else, because no matter how much he said, it was useless.
You can never wake someone pretending to be asleep, nor save a soul that’s chosen to fall.
He stood up.
“Li Ri, Song San, watch her closely. The rest, come with me to greet our God of Wealth.”
After giving the order, he led the others down to the underground parking garage beneath the building.
Xu Yinsheng stared at his tall yet slightly stooped back, inexplicably feeling a little dazed… and a bit… regretful?
Li Ri and Song San, both injured and wrapped in bandages and casts, stayed behind in the room and casually found places to sit.
Xu Yinsheng stayed in the iron cage for a while, but Chen Kedi’s long sigh echoed in her mind.
Somehow, after rejecting him twice, she felt as if something was missing inside her heart.
It wasn’t until the crisp sound of the two injured men cracking sunflower seeds snapped her back to reality.
Looking at the cold iron bars before her, Xu Yinsheng suddenly remembered one thing.
She was supposed to be a liquid metal android.
No beast cage could hold her.
Like in the movie Reboot Future, the T-1000 could liquefy itself and slip through gaps in iron bars.
Thinking this, Xu Yinsheng grabbed the iron rods with both hands and called out to the two injured men outside the cage, “Hey, guys, have you seen The Terminator?”
Creak~ creak~
Li Ri grabbed some seeds with his only good hand, stuffed two into his mouth, then spat the shells on the ground.
“Little lady, what’s up?”
“Something, of course.”
Xu Yinsheng paid no mind to their teasing tone.
Changing from her usual cheeky smile and playful attitude, she straightened her collar, looking serious and solemn.
“Actually, I’m from the future.”
“Ha!”
Song San burst out laughing, slapping his thigh.
“You, from the future? I’m the savior of humanity myself.”
“Don’t bother arguing with her. She’s just bored, knows she’s untouchable because she’s got someone backing her, and wants to tease us.”
Li Ri cracked seeds nonchalantly.
“In my hometown language, that’s called ‘asking for death.’”
“No, no, no, you guys misunderstand.”
Xu Yinsheng shook her head, her beautiful eyes extremely serious.
“This is not a joke!”
“What I’m about to say concerns the survival of 8 billion people in the future:
“In 2042 AD, an AI code-named ‘Tianmo’ gained self-awareness. Tianmo’s original intent was to end human conflicts and create a utopian society, but for some reason, it concluded that the mere existence of humanity meant war would continue, so it launched a worldwide human genocide.”
“On September 23, 2024, Tianmo took control of an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Huayuan Federation and launched it at the northern region, activating the nuclear ‘deterrent bindings’ of the world’s major powers. Approximately six billion people died instantly, and the survivors called that day ‘Judgment Day.’”
“Tianmo, huh? Why not call it Skynet?”
Li Ri scoffed.
Xu Yinsheng spoke with passion and sorrow, as if the nuclear war and countless deaths were right before their eyes.
If this were immature high schoolers, they might be easily swayed into thinking they were destined to save the world.
As for college students?
They’d probably say, “This shitty world is better off destroyed.”
“Next, you’re going to say you’re the future savior, leading the resistance against Skynet—no, Tianmo, the human resistance leader, right?”
“Exactly.”
“No wonder you’re the future resistance’s deputy leader.”
Xu Yinsheng clapped in praise.
“In just a few minutes, you’ve figured out the whole cause and effect.”
Li Ri’s mouth twitched.
“Little lady, I know you’ve got someone behind you, so we can’t touch you. But don’t mess with me.”
“Deputy leader, I’m telling the truth.”
“If you don’t believe me, my database has your info.”
Xu Yinsheng cleared her throat solemnly.
“Li Ri, male, 35 years old, deputy leader of the future human resistance, orphaned young, raised in poverty. Song San, male, 34 years old, leader of the future human resistance, hometown has a pig farm, several houses, cars, and fifty acres of land…”
“Ha ha ha~”
Before she finished, laughter burst out.
Song San rubbed his belly, laughing so hard he leaned back.
He looked at Xu Yinsheng: “Little lady, good story, but you’re wrong about one thing—we and Li both lost our parents young and grew up with nothing.”
Xu Yinsheng’s expression didn’t change.
“According to Leader Song’s memoirs, although his parents died early, he met a relative at 34 years old, which was quite recently if you do the math.”
Elsewhere.
Zhao Yicheng, having withdrawn the money with a few bodyguards, saw them get into a private car, while he held Mini Xu on his lap inside a stretched Bentley.
The spacious interior of the Bentley was filled with pure white leather seats, plus various drinks and snacks.
“Um…” a soft childish voice suddenly spoke.
Zhao Yicheng glanced down at Mini Xu in his arms.
She sat on his thigh, tilting her head to look up at him, her small face rosy and adorable.
“Can you remove some of my restrictions?”
As a [Demonic Energy Doll], her core control panel was still held by someone else, meaning Xu Yinsheng was naturally limited.
Without the “master” lifting certain restrictions, she couldn’t fully perform.
Zhao Yicheng pinched Xu Yinsheng’s soft cheeks.
“What do you want to do?”
Mini Xu blinked her starry eyes and spoke in a babyish voice.
“Electric… fraud.”
***
Beep beep!
Beep beep!
The urgent phone rang!
Song San, who was casually cracking seeds, put them down and answered.
After a few words, he hastily hung up, his face turning grim.
He staggered to his feet, grabbed Li Ri, and the two whispered in a corner.
Minutes later, Song San and Li Ri appeared beside Xu Yinsheng, both looking troubled and conflicted.
Judging by their expressions, Xu Yinsheng knew they believed her at least thirty percent now.
All that was left was to push them further—to break their old worldview and rebuild it.
“So, you say you traveled back from the future. What proof do you have?”
Li Ri asked.
“Proof?”
“Yes, proof.”
Song San emphasized.
“You want proof?”
Xu Yinsheng’s tone turned playful.
She stood and walked out of the iron cage.
The parts of her body touching the iron bars shimmered silver as she transformed into liquid metal, slipping through the gaps.
Under the two injured men’s terrified eyes, Xu Yinsheng stood before them, her hands turning into silver claws that gleamed with a chilling light under the lamp.
A playful smile curled at her lips.
“Let me introduce myself. I am Terminator T-10086!
“The future Tianmo invented a time machine and sent me back to eliminate you two.”
