“Alright everyone, please rest well. I’ll go check the rooms for now.”
After greeting the four members of the Sigma Series, Clara left the infirmary.
She then released her Magical Girl transformation.
The actual program recording wouldn’t start until tomorrow.
Outside of that, there was no need to maintain her Magical Girl form the whole time—especially with the air quality here so pristine. It would be a shame not to take a few deep breaths. She couldn’t be wearing the mask all the time.
“Miss Clara, was it?”
That tall, curvy staff member was still waiting by the door. She looked a bit surprised to see Clara after she had reverted from her transformation.
“Yes, that’s me.”
“There’s barely any difference between before and after you transform. No wonder you wear a gas mask.”
Actually, her facial features did change a little, but Clara didn’t want to explain too much.
“Sorry to trouble you, Miss Rabi. We’ve only just arrived, and we’re already causing you so much trouble…”
Clara thanked her politely, but the woman just smiled and replied, “Please don’t say that. You are our scheduled guests, after all. It’s our duty to look after you. Besides, the solar storm is a natural disaster—no one is to blame.”
“There’s still some responsibility…”
The recurring responsibility of Okada Dharma’s actions, the responsibility for not stopping her—there were many reasons. Of course, it could also be Fran’s fault for jinxing them with her crow’s mouth this morning.
This staff member named Rabi had straight, gray-white hair that fell long and smooth, and dark red eyes. Two small lumps rose on top of her head—Clara couldn’t tell if they were part of her hairstyle or something else.
Her short-sleeved shirt was unbuttoned by two at the chest, revealing a bust so full it could support a milk tea, pressing together to form an impossibly deep valley that kept catching Clara’s gaze.
With a professional smile, Rabi suggested, “Well then, Miss Clara, shall I escort you to the guest room area?”
“Yes, I’ll leave it to you.”
Sista and the others needed to stay in the medical pods for a while longer to treat the invisible damage caused by radiation. They could repair the necrotic cells, but there was no way any of them would be getting up tonight.
Those pale, soft medical robots would take good care of them. With Okada Dharma staying behind, Clara had no reason to linger.
Incidentally, Clara had undergone an examination herself.
The results showed that our Miss Squid was in perfect health. The magical protection standard for Magical Girls was outstanding—she was immune to radiation at least until her defenses were breached, so she hadn’t suffered any effects at all…
“Miss Clara, please get in the car.”
Leaving the infirmary, Rabi brought over a four-seater touring car.
“The main resort area is in the island’s tropical rainforest. There’s still a bit of distance from here—it’d be a long walk.”
“Oh, alright.”
Clara was here on a mission to look for flaws.
But so far, this staff member named Rabi was impeccable.
Still, what mattered was the vacation experience itself, not just the impression of one employee.
Miss Rabi being perfect didn’t guarantee the whole resort was flawless. Besides, they hadn’t even truly entered the resort yet…
Only after experiencing the island’s attractions and sampling the cuisine could Clara offer a fair review.
“Miss Clara, over there is our resort.”
The touring car followed the main road along the beach. Since the island was shaped like a crescent moon, you could see most of it just by following this road. Artificial waves crashed gently on the sandy shore.
On the far end of her vision, rows of exquisite wooden cottages lined a gentle hillside—these were the “guest rooms,” each facing the sea with a view of the golden sands and turquoise bay.
“It’s beautiful. This station… it’s almost impossible to tell we’re on the moon.”
The only flaw was the gaseous dome overhead, stretching into the distance—a constant reminder that all of this was man-made.
The Nitemare Corporation had spared no expense in creating this resort, meant for the wealthy. If not for this crossover event, she probably never would have gotten to enjoy it…
And as one of its very first guests, no less.
“By the way, Miss Rabi.”
Something occurred to Clara, so she asked, “Is this station itself safe?”
“Why do you ask?”
Rabi, still driving, glanced at Clara, her smile unchanged.
But for a brief moment, Clara thought it seemed a little forced.
“On our way here, we came across a giant sandworm corpse and were attacked by a pack of Moon Rabbits. Aren’t you worried those lunar creatures might attack here? I didn’t see much in the way of defenses at the station.”
If a swarm of those rabbit locusts attacked, the entire Moonsea Resort could be wiped clean.
“There’s no need to worry, Miss Clara.”
Rabi smiled as she explained, “Those lunar creatures aren’t suited for Earth-like gravity, air, or temperature. Even deep-sea fish brought to the surface on Earth die quickly.
Especially those huge sandworms—they’re like the lunar buses you rode in on. Once they enter the gaseous dome, they’d be crushed by their own weight and size. Besides, the station is surrounded by sea on three sides, and only connects to the outside of the dome in one small spot. Creatures that have never encountered water simply can’t survive in it.”
So that was it. The gaseous dome and this huge artificial sea were the resort’s natural defenses against lunar creatures.
As they talked, the dome above was already tinged with the golden glow of sunset.
The touring car entered the rainforest.
Rabi parked at the roadside, then led Clara toward the reception and restaurant—a two-story wooden lodge, surrounded by lush greenery and blending seamlessly with nature.
“Oh, Senior Clara~”
A familiar voice called from behind. Before Clara could turn, a pair of arms slipped under her armpits, lifting her up and spinning her in the air.
Clara cried out, “Hey! Lucia, put me down!”
Her sister had changed into summer clothes, and even through the fabric Clara could feel their body heat—a dangerously close contact.
“Hahaha, are you alright?”
“I’m fine! The Sigma folks are fine too…”
Lucia put Clara down, and Clara rubbed her face, then asked, “Are you guys about to have dinner?”
“Mm, the resort is throwing us a welcome feast~”
“Then I’ll eat before heading to my room.”
Hearing this, Rabi—ever the staff member—added,
“From here on, please relax and enjoy yourselves. I promise you, we’ll make this an unforgettable experience.”
With her job as guide complete, Rabi went off to handle other duties.
“Thanks…”
“Clara, you really should change into summer clothes too!”
It was Fran Livka who came over with these words.
But she hadn’t just changed into summer wear—she’d put on the black bikini she bought earlier, draping only a white coat over her shoulders. The skirt portion of her swimsuit was let down, making it look like a short skirt.
She even spun in front of Clara, urging her with a lollipop in her mouth.
“Hey, if you see a girl in a swimsuit, at least give her a compliment, will you?”
Clearly, she was pretty confident in her figure…
But after witnessing Rabi’s “mountains,” Clara found herself temporarily immune to Fran’s level of sexiness.
“Mm, not bad,” Clara nodded.
“What’s with that half-hearted reaction! Careful or I’ll strip you and toss you in the ocean!”
Sure enough, Fran got mad.
Oh boy flag city.
