“I can escape!”
“I have to find a way out!”
Waking up once more, Lin Nuo realized he was alone in the room.
Looking up at the sunlight pouring through the window above, his resolve to escape only grew stronger.
“Chirp?”
Fatty Bird, who was pecking around on the ground, looked up at him, as if asking what all his mumbling was about.
“Locked in a secret room with no door…”
“Tied up into a twist by XÄ«, playing her ‘clear offense and defense’ games…”
“This is downright miserable, like being sold off as bait!”
Not sure whether speaking aloud would let XÄ« hear him, Lin Nuo could only shift his position, doing his best to avoid being seen by the mirror on the wall.
Then, without a sound, he slipped off the Rainbow Crystal from his wrist and tossed it onto the floor, gesturing at Fatty Bird with his mouth and eyes.
“Chirp?”
Fatty Bird understood at once, hopping over to peck at the crystal bracelet on the ground before picking it up in its beak.
Lin Nuo pointed with his finger at the dazzling sunlight shining through the window.
Fatty Bird hopped into the sunlight, adjusting its position according to his instructions until–
The light refracted through the Rainbow Crystal converged like a magnifying glass, shining onto a few Paper Cranes perched on the windowsill.
The Paper Cranes, apparently tasked only with surveillance, showed no sign of intelligence and did not avoid the increasingly hot beam of light.
“She must not have noticed the bracelet—luckily she didn’t take it away…”
“As soon as those Paper Cranes catch fire, I’ll bite off the string tied to Fatty Bird, let it fly out to deliver a message, and I’ll be saved!”
“Whoosh whoosh whoosh–”
Suddenly, from the wall behind him, the exact same sound of paper pages flipping came again, just as when XÄ« had first entered.
And the sound grew louder.
Thinking XÄ« had discovered his plan and was coming in to punish him, Lin Nuo quickly twisted around and lunged at the wall.
But this movement left him puzzled–
“This wall…”
“Why is it… soft?”
The next instant, a girl’s light and pleasant laughter sounded from right in front of him.
“You’re making me so ticklish, young master~”
His vision spun, and everything before his eyes shattered like broken glass, splintering apart until all he could see faded away like a mirage.
Only then did Lin Nuo realize: instead of pressing against the wall, he was actually pinning down XÄ«, who was covering her mouth and smiling at him with eyes like crescent moons, both of them on the bed.
“No! Wait, I…!!”
Before Lin Nuo could struggle to get up, XÄ«’s soft, fair hand pulled him down by the shoulder so he couldn’t move, nestling against him as her delicate cheek rubbed back and forth on his body: “Young master is just too cute~!”
“As soon as I give you the tiniest hint, you can follow the clues and work hard to come up with an escape plan—definitely a solid runaway route.”
Dangling from her fingers was the Rainbow Crystal that she had, in fact, already taken away earlier.
She would never make such a beginner’s mistake.
From beginning to end, she hadn’t left this room, hadn’t left her bed, hadn’t even moved away from him.
He must have fallen into an illusion for a split second.
‘Not fair…’
‘She even knows illusionist-type magic?!’
“Chirp.”
Fatty Bird, perched on Lin Nuo’s shoulder, poked his head with a wing.
Seemed to be asking if all his muttering and rambling meant he’d come down with a fever.
“Ugh.”
Lin Nuo managed to sit up, grasping XÄ«’s soft hand on his shoulder, but before he could do anything more, a cold, gleaming knife suddenly slid out from XÄ«’s sleeve.
“…”
“Don’t move around, young master,”
“I’ve answered everything you asked me, honestly.”
Her gaze swept across his face, her gentle voice dropping slightly: “Now, it’s my turn to ask you something.”
“That thieving cat used the Purification ability to suppress the Blood Leech Curse in your body, which means you must’ve accepted her blood. Both of you should have wounds.”
“If I remember correctly, her blood is used for healing. If it comes in contact with wounds caused by ordinary magic items or spells, there’s a risk of contamination, so she probably bit you herself to make a wound.”
“So…”
“Which part of your body did she bite to get her blood into you?”
‘Thieving cat? Who’s that? Purification ability… oh, she must mean Princess Amidina.’
Lin Nuo felt his scalp go numb: “Why are you… asking this?”
“My man actually has parts that have been touched by another girl? What else could I do?” XÄ«’s tone was chillingly matter-of-fact: “If you’ve been touched by someone else, I don’t want it. I’ll just cut it off and toss it away.”
“?!”
‘…Damn it!!’
Lin Nuo almost covered his mouth in shock, but caught the look in XÄ«’s eyes.
Forcing down his panic in a heartbeat, he placed the hand that should’ve covered his mouth instead over his collarbone.
His expression was perfectly panicked, as if this was exactly where Princess Amidina had bitten him…
With XÄ«’s intelligence, if he lied and said Princess Amidina hadn’t touched him, she’d never believe it.
If he said the Princess bit his mouth, and they had fed blood mouth to mouth…
Judging by XÄ«’s attitude, she really might cut off his lips.
If it was his neck, and she cut it—he’d be done for.
She probably wouldn’t actually kill him right now…
So he replied, “Neck”
“Neck, huh?” XÄ« narrowed her eyes, her gaze becoming even more unreadable.
“But… there doesn’t seem to be a wound here…”
“It’s been so many days, a small wound would’ve healed by now… If you don’t believe me, ask it.”
“Chirp?”
Fatty Bird, pointed at by Lin Nuo, shook its head, then tried to tilt its neck up—only to realize it didn’t have a neck.
“…”
XÄ« put away the knife and released his shoulder, seeming to believe him for now.
Just when Lin Nuo thought he’d muddled through and XÄ« wouldn’t make trouble for him anymore, as he was sitting up, the girl lying on the bed suddenly flipped over and pinned him down, her smooth, glowing legs shifting and then straddling him.
?!
Who knows where XÄ«, who looked so harmless, got such strength; her small, white hands easily pressed down on his wrists.
Her cherry blossom lips moved directly to the spot he’d indicated—where Princess Amidina had bitten him—and bit down.
This action, filled with emotion, was clearly much rougher than before—
“Ahh…”
Just that one bite, his neck was definitely red now!
And it’d stay that way for at least two days!
As if unsatisfied, Xī—no one knew how long she kept biting the person beneath her—finally raised her head, staring at his face, turned aside and facing her, as if she was looking at someone letting her bite him as much as she pleased.
XÄ« licked her lips with her pink tongue, then suddenly stopped as if she’d found a new target.
Lin Nuo couldn’t understand how this seemingly delicate girl could so easily press down both his wrists with just one hand.
She even raised his wrists above his head.
This position… is it really okay?!
“You…”
One breath.
Two breaths.
Three breaths.
The girl simply stared at him, pupils shining, breathing growing heavier.
Lin Nuo finally couldn’t hold back: “What are you trying to… mm!”
It was as if Xī had been waiting for him to open his mouth—she instantly pounced.
Her cherry blossom lips drew close, and the sweet scent in her mouth completely silenced any words he might have had.
Sizzle…
Sizzle sizzle~
“Damn it…”
“Why am I getting pinned down again!”
Roughly prying open his lips, XÄ«, with an unsatisfied hunger, invaded again and again.
Like a puppy, she bit all over his face and lips, her clumsy first attempt at kissing burning with an intense possessiveness.
Her teeth gently grazed every bit of skin on his lips, the dizzying sweetness becoming addictive.
God knows where she kept pulling knives from—Lin Nuo didn’t dare bite the girl before him, simply letting her lips and tongue sweep over him, until he was almost out of breath…
