Chapter 20: The Unease That Won’t Fade

“Morning Sunlight, calm down. We can’t run around like headless flies—leaving here won’t solve the problem.”

“Rather than changing our resting place, it’s more important for you to relax your mind. Don’t be so tense.”

As Bai Yue spoke, she reached out and gently placed her hand on Mu Chenxi’s head, softly rubbing as if comforting a little kitten.

She enjoyed Bai Yue’s affectionate touch, and it eased her taut nerves.

“I’ll set up the Cave Dwelling. You’ve been flying all day—rest a bit.”

Bai Yue said.

“Alright.”

Mu Chenxi obediently agreed, watching Bai Yue busy herself in the temporary Cave Dwelling.

Soon, everything was arranged.

“Chenxi, did that feeling come back?”

Bai Yue asked softly.

“Yes, Master.”

Mu Chenxi nodded, staring down at their clasped hands.

This time the feeling was even stronger—holding Master’s hand couldn’t drive it away.

It made it impossible for her to settle her mind for cultivation.

“Has it gotten worse?”

Bai Yue asked worriedly.

“Yes…”

Mu Chenxi nodded.

The unknown danger made both Master and disciple anxious, and the atmosphere grew heavy.

“It’s okay. Chenxi is so strong—we’ll be fine.”

Bai Yue placed her other hand gently over Mu Chenxi’s, comforting her.
