But there was no time for everyone to admire her beauty.
The Great Elf Archer raised her longbow, nocked an arrow, and pulled the string with a graceful motion.
“[Blessing of the Nine Angels].”
Samimi enchanted the arrow, and the tip immediately ignited with holy flame.
In the next moment, the Great Elf Archer released the bowstring, sending several streaks of fiery arrows cutting through the dark night.
They flew over the zombie horde, accurately striking the heads of the Tool-type Zombies.
The holy flame instantly spread, engulfing their heads, then their entire bodies began to burn, turning into clusters of orange fireballs that illuminated the battlefield behind them.
The Tool-type Zombies were completely wiped out in an instant, and the holy flame even spread further outward.
The Little Zombies without brains that were caught in the holy flame got burned, and the burning Little Zombies attracted other zombies, continuing the chain reaction.
Zombies exposed to holy flame were like dry wood meeting a fire spark, they ignited quickly. This was also one of the holy flame’s special traits.
Last night, there weren’t as many Night Zombies, so the holy flame didn’t spread as much.
Tonight, there were many more Bottle Zombies, so the flames burned fiercely, while the Left-type Zombies were unusually numerous, causing the holy flame to keep expanding.
It was as if the Bloodchant Clan’s tainted blood was being purified through my Sacred Nurturing technique; my magic could burn away all evil creatures by touch.
Just a few enchanted arrows destroyed over half of the zombie horde. Even the Bamboo Rod Zombies accompanying them were burned down together, and the battlefield cleared up significantly.
“My greatsword is already sharpened and ready!”
Director General Mei Shanyao and the God-Qin Maiden Archer climbed up the fortress wall, but the battle had already ended.
“Brother? The zombies? Why have they disappeared?”
Director General Mei Shanyao looked confused and anxious, as not a single Little Zombie remained below.
Everyone once again witnessed the immense pressure the Demon-Hunting Nun exerted over the Blood Banner.
The Blood Clan hidden in the shadows could feel that the small figure was their clan’s greatest support.
Samimi was not only capable of using holy flame to burn all evil spirits; she also possessed incredibly strong healing magic to see through the Blood Clan’s various defensive tactics.
Without the Demon-Hunting Nun’s presence at Zhen Town, this expedition team would likely have been wiped out several times over.
“Sounds like a command!”
“Charge! Those damn Bloodchant zombies have been spotted!”
The knights and adventurers raised their arms and cheered, celebrating their victory in the middle of the field.
But at this moment, a sudden rustling came.
The Demon-Hunting Nun’s body suddenly faltered and collapsed to the ground.
Luckily, the swift Director General Mei Shanyao stepped forward immediately to support her.
Of course, this was expected—Samimi would never want to be caught off guard.
“What happened?” The Papal Left Hand, tense like a scalded shrimp, anxiously asked.
“The magic consumption was enormous,” Qi Qi calmly explained. “To prevent the Bamboo Rod Zombies’ invisible sneaking, she just activated the full-course exploration instant spell. At the same time, she had to maintain the augment spell to support the teammates who infiltrated the enemy lines, so the magic consumption was huge.”
Hearing this, everyone was filled with mixed emotions and didn’t know what to say.
“Let the nun rest for a while. She’s been through too much,” said the Papal Left Hand.
“I’m fine… I can still hold on,” Samimi pretended to be nonchalant as she faintly smiled and wrote a few words.
“That’s right. It’s still dark; you can’t rest yet. Without her exploration spell, we wouldn’t be able to defend against the Bamboo Rod Zombies’ attacks,” Qi Qi said coldly.
“How can you be so heartless? She is your teammate,” Director General Mei Shanyao reprimanded the stout knight in a friendly but stern tone.
“I’m just stating the facts. Who else here can understand the Bamboo Rod Zombies’ tactics?” Qi Qi responded calmly and reasonably, without anger.
Everyone was silent.
“I can,” suddenly the Socially-Anxious Maiden Archer, who had remained quiet until now, stepped forward.
“Can you?” The blonde elf archer still wore a faint smile. It seemed she always had an unreadable expression, never revealing what she really cared about inside.
“Yes, senior. I can sense the subtle air currents, and those moving zombies cannot escape my sight. However…” the little archer hesitated.
“But what?” Director General Mei Shanyao asked.
“It would be better if you could give me an [Hawk Vision] augment spell,” the little archer said quietly, timidly requesting help.
Everyone looked towards the Demon-Hunting Nun.
Samimi acted weak but was actually conserving all her strength.
You could say this little archer was pretending too well, more cunning than even the White-haired Witch Bemore, she wouldn’t really believe my holy flame was just a trick.
But never mind, knowing this woman’s personality, it was better to play it safe and keep some cards hidden.
If the White-haired Witch Bemore was a reckless bombshell, the mysterious little archer was a cold, defensive arrow.
She could perform dazzling maneuvers within the explosive range of the magic staff, but cold arrows were not so easily released.
The White-haired Witch Bemore’s personality had already been fully exposed, but the Socially-Anxious Maiden’s little thoughts were just so, her emotions were also a kind of defense, allowing her to react and detect threats early.
Yet some people’s defenses were not easy to break. Once revealed, it was truly unbearable for them.
The God-Qin Maiden Archer was not like Socially-Anxious Maiden Bemore. Bemore had no friends. If someone became her friend, she would feel grateful.
But the other three female leads all had their own friends, their own lives, their own social circles, and their own honor to protect.
Bemore had none of those things. She bore the heavy burdens of being both a fugitive and a witch, yet still lived well.
The shameless White-haired Witch cast aside useless social ties and honor, becoming a magical practitioner focused solely on cultivation, thus bringing joy to the team.
A mage could cultivate without distraction, but other physical-type teammates couldn’t be like us, always lost in thought every day.
By her side, the God-Qin Maiden Archer was accompanied by a radiant elf vanguard.
This glowing elf held a status among the group that was likely equivalent to the position of the saintly Makima Guesada there.
She was a respected master, a dreamlike figure, and the image I originally aspired to become.
I had to be careful not to lose face in front of these women and must conceal my true feelings.
Even Samimi could sense her teammate’s long and complicated psychological process.
“[Wide-Eye Technique].”
So after careful consideration, Samimi still chose to pretend not to know anything and said nothing more, simply bestowing an augment spell.
The God-Qin Maiden Archer received the precious augment spell and, no doubt, felt immense relief. After all, she was still wearing a full-body cloak of concealment, without the support of a spirit so her advantages were limited.
However, everyone could roughly guess her race, it was definitely an elf, otherwise her keen eyesight wouldn’t be possible.
“Does this mean you still can’t rest?” Director General Mei Shanyao asked sharply.
