The Blood Demon Tribe mobilized over ten thousand soldiers in total.
This was not an easy feat.
A month ago, they had suffered a crushing defeat in the Northern Forest Battle, with heavy losses.
The forcibly conscripted soldiers were unwilling as well; if not for the influence of their bloodline, they wouldn’t have even been able to maintain their combat strength.
These ten thousand plus soldiers were divided into three small legions.
The First Legion went to the frontlines to withstand the Northern Expedition Coalition.
The Second Legion stayed in the middle to provide support at any time.
The Third Legion remained in place to guard the upper ranks.
The place where Ella and Zero launched their surprise attack was the Second Legion.
The strengthened True Undead Calamity was remarkably effective.
As a skill where quantitative change could lead to qualitative change, the summoned numbers increased by half, and their strength rose by more than a tier.
Looking at the battlefield not far away, where the Blood Demon Tribe’s soldiers were being slaughtered, Ella couldn’t help but sigh.
“The soldiers of the Blood Demon Tribe die and fall every moment, while my Undead are endless.”
“Yes.”
A voice beside her replied.
“Too evil.”
“How can you call it evil?”
The Pink-haired Thunder grew agitated at these words.
“What’s the goal of our battle? It’s to turn Black Cross Star City into Bright Cross Star City. Since we have a Light goal, it can’t be evil. You…you…”
Ella wasn’t at a loss for words.
Rather, she noticed that Zero’s gaze was very innocent, as if the words just now weren’t hers.
They really weren’t hers.
“I… I’m over here.”
A weak loli voice came from the other side.
Ella turned and saw Silitya standing nearby.
Who knew how long she’d been there?
Anyway, the summoning had happened earlier.
The other Undead brothers were all on the frontlines fighting, and the elf loli was hiding here slacking off.
But it couldn’t be helped.
After all, as a caster unit, she wanted to use her abilities as a Plant Whisperer.
After searching for a long time, she found there weren’t any usable plants on this battlefield.
She couldn’t very well summon a few weeds to jump up and launch fierce normal attacks at the Blood Demon soldiers.
That would be too plain.
“So why did you come out?”
Ella tightened her small face.
“I didn’t call you, only the ones good at fighting. You’re still taking up a slot for the living.”
Silitya blinked.
“But yesterday, didn’t your speech say, ‘If there is battle, one must answer the summon’?”
“…………”
That…seemed to be a real line.
“Fine, let’s do this. I’ll give you a mission now. Go find the main army of the coalition, tell them the road ahead is clear, and to charge straight in.”
“Oh, okay.”
Silitya didn’t think much of it, obediently nodded, and floated off toward the main force.
By evening, when the main force of the coalition arrived, they found the ground covered with the corpses of Blood Demon soldiers, while their own side hadn’t lost a single man.
On the side of the Elves, the one leading the group was a robust general hundreds of years old.
Seeing the scene, he couldn’t help but look twice.
“Respected Sky Knight, Miss Ayla, was this your doing?”
The Powder-haired Thunder Girl held her face in one hand and gave a gentle smile.
“I only made a small contribution. Don’t mind it.”
She then turned to the two generals on her side.
“We’ll rest tonight and head straight for the Wastelands at dawn.”
The Wastelands were the core area of the Blood Demon Tribe, mostly where the upper ranks resided.
The Four-Armed General Duo Luo and One-Eyed General Gumu cupped their hands.
“Understood!”
The Elven general almost followed suit, but finally caught himself in time.
“.Alright, we’ll cooperate as well.”
At this point, the Mage Corps brought by the Elves proved their worth.
On the battlefield-turned-wasteland, they poured out several bags of seeds, chanted spells, and after a while, vines spread across the ground, finally growing into several large tree houses.
Though simple, they were perfectly windproof and more than adequate as army accommodations for a night’s rest.
The Elven side gave orders to the Mage Corps to prepare separate small rooms for the two girls.
“Do you always have to plant a grove of tree houses every time you make camp?”
Zero asked curiously.
“Won’t these tree houses be left behind when we move on?”
“No, these magical plants are temporary.”
Ella explained.
“They’ll be gone by tomorrow morning.”
“I see. Ella knows so much.”
Of course.
Back then, those Demon Race pests kept clamoring to attack the Elves, forcing her to scour everywhere for intel.
Lying down, she exchanged good nights with the girl, and the Demon King drifted into a sweet sleep.
Zzzz
The next morning, the war pressed on.
The east line was slightly slowed by the complicated terrain of the snowfields, but the west line had already surged north, piercing deep into the heart of the Blood Demon Tribe.
This time, Ella didn’t need to act personally.
As the Third Legion, the Blood Demon Tribe soldiers stationed in the hinterlands clearly understood that when the enemy advanced here by the third day, the situation was hopeless.
There was hardly any will to resist.
No matter how much the upper ranks shouted, the soldiers’ fighting spirit couldn’t be raised.
They lacked the bloodline for it.
The Northern Expedition Coalition organized a multi-pronged assault.
The Mage Corps sowed seeds to establish a Green Zone.
The Elven Deerhorn Cavalry and Demon Elite charged together, while the fewer Dragonhawk Riders provided air support, accurately taking out elite units among the enemy.
With both quality and quantity at a disadvantage, and lacking powerful individual bosses, the Blood Demon side was in dire straits.
On the other hand, the strongest two girls didn’t even make a move.
Duo Luo and Gumu charged forward—four blades and a bald head sweeping all before them.
The Elven general, riding a Dilu and firing arrows as he charged, still couldn’t match the two Demon Race.
Half an hour after the battle began, a white flag was raised on the fortress of the Blood Demon Tribe.
“They’ve surrendered.”
Ella rose from a vine chair in the Green Zone and, with Zero, mounted her Dragon Hawk and flew toward the fortress.
Several generals had already entered the fortress and confronted the remaining upper ranks of the Blood Demon Tribe.
Though powerful, compared to the Bloodslaughter King, they were clearly lacking.
The blood aura on their bodies was weak, perhaps burned hot during the battle, but once calm returned, so did surrender.
“Generals, Lords.”
The new Blood Demon King stepped forward ingratiatingly.
“We are willing to surrender. Please show mercy.”
Gumu’s single eye suddenly glared.
“Stop! Stand there!”
The Blood Demon King jumped in fright.
“Y-yes…”
No one else spoke.
Duo Luo and Gumu stood on either side like golden-armored gate gods, while the Elven general seemed about to say something, but seeing their stance, chose to fall in line.
A few minutes later, the Dragon Hawk landed on a broken windowsill, and Ella stepped down gracefully.
Dory suddenly strode forward, frightening several of the Blood Demon upper ranks.
But he merely swung his four arms—two to pick up a chair, two to wipe it clean—and then respectfully placed it before the Powder-haired Thunder Girl.
“Lady Ayla, please sit.”
