Faced with the sudden complete turnaround in attitude from Layla and Sylvia, the blonde twin-tailed loli blinked in utter confusion.
No… what’s going on here?
Weren’t these two just satisfied with the Keti meal replacement she had found?
Alice had actually thought there was hope for this to work out, but as soon as she mentioned her husband, these two girls immediately turned hostile!
Grr… damn it, do they really want to be my love rivals that badly?!
Feeling overwhelmed by the number of women eyeing Keti around her and pressured beyond measure, and on top of that having Layla and Sylvia openly drive away the person she brought over, Alice felt her pride wounded and grew angry.
She furrowed her brows tightly and then shouted loudly at the two young ladies:
“Huh? Layla, Sylvia, what are you two doing! The person I just brought here, you… you just drove them away? This… this is way too rude!”
“It’s because you didn’t consult us beforehand, just randomly bringing in a new member without warning.”
“Ugh… if you’re going to bring someone in, at least bring a girl! Suddenly shoving in a boy who even looks a bit like Keti… what if he causes misunderstandings? That’s way too likely to cause confusion for Keti!”
The purple-haired, jellyfish-headed priestess spoke without hesitation about her biggest worry, but instead, this honest truth only made the blonde twin-tailed loli more annoyed.
After a moment, Alice clenched her fists, bit her little tiger fangs, and shouted in frustration:
“Here we go again! Always about Keti! Get this straight, I’m his childhood friend, okay?! Hoo… you guys spoil Keti too much, always looking for him.”
“That’s why he keeps messing around outside and never comes back. Hmph… I bet hearing you guys look for him makes him so happy he could burst. So, have you actually found Keti yet? If you have, why haven’t you brought him back?!”
Regarding whether they had found Keti or not, the priestess awkwardly cleared her throat twice and seemed hesitant to speak further.
Ah… the person was found, but… given Keti’s current situation, if Alice knew, this stubborn tsundere might just lose it completely.
Though Layla wasn’t exactly sure what the situation was either, she thought… whatever, the fewer people who know about this, the better.
The fewer, the greater her chances. The priestess even wished she could give Sylvia amnesia. It was natural not to want to tell Alice.
Clearly, the excuse about worrying over Alice’s mental state was just the priestess’s way of convincing Layla, but the silence gave Alice even more confidence.
After a short moment, the blonde twin-tailed loli quietly lifted her head and mumbled softly:
“Well, I already let Jiaxia join the hero squad, so Jiaxia, you don’t have to leave. Just stay here. Hoo… let them do whatever they want.”
With that said, Alice turned and ran back to her bedroom herself. Left behind, Layla and Sylvia exchanged an awkward glance.
The priestess then left Jiaxia behind and took Sylvia’s hand, gesturing for her to come along to her room for a private chat.
“What a show, sigh… that Alice, quiet for a few days and now she’s causing a ruckus again… haha, she even brought in someone who looks so much like Keti to be the new teammate. You’d think she’s not afraid Keti would hate her at all.”
Lying wearily on the bed after being yelled at by Alice, Layla seemed utterly exhausted.
Sylvia found a chair against the wall and shook her head, saying:
“Not necessarily. Maybe Alice is right this time?”
“Really?”
The purple-haired priestess was surprised by Sylvia’s words and chuckled lightly:
“Wow, you’re pretty good at hiding it. Seems like you’re quite satisfied with that new Jiaxia kid.”
“Tsk… why were you keeping such a cold face earlier? Acting all aloof? Hah~ Honestly, I think that kid’s pretty good too, though definitely no match for our Keti. If you want him, go ahead and chase after him, just don’t steal Keti from me~”
“Are you joking?”
The elf girl narrowed her eyes, then suddenly pulled out a gleaming hatchet from her pocket and sneered coldly: “Do you think I’m the kind of woman to easily fall for someone else?”
“Ahahaha… just kidding…”
Layla immediately broke out in a cold sweat, not daring to tease her anymore. Well, yeah… before when she misunderstood the current Keti as a bad woman, this girl almost attacked someone.
She’s very strict with others… that much was true.
“I don’t like that guy at all, maybe even dislike him a little. Though at first, his mysterious aura gave a good impression, but… afterwards, something felt off.”
“Remember when he pretended to be wronged and tried to leave on his own? At that moment, I smelled a strong vibe of a little green tea boy.”
“Hoo… a green tea boy? Now that you mention it, maybe there’s some truth to that… huh, could this be the unspoken understanding between similar types?”
“Who are you calling green tea?”
The green-haired elf silently raised her hatchet, scaring the purple-haired priestess into immediately backing down, waving her hands and quickly changing the subject:
“N-no, no, I mean I felt the same! But… now that it’s like this, doesn’t that just prove Alice’s move was pretty lousy? So why do you say she’s right, Sylvia?”
“Hmm…”
At this, the elf seemed a bit resentful. After a long pause, she waved her hand and said:
“Because… I think it’s probably impossible for just the two of us to make Keti leave the school and return to the hero squad. We’ve already tried both soft and hard approaches; honestly, there’s no hope.”
“But… do you think there’s a possibility that the real reason Keti doesn’t want to come back is because… the person she really cares about, the one she likes, is Alice?”
“Ah… that…”
Faced with this question, Layla bitterly smiled for a moment, then nodded reluctantly.
Though she hated to admit it, if neither she nor Sylvia could make Keti want to come back even a little, then… this really was the most likely reason.
Keti… is avoiding her feelings for Alice, so… that’s why she refuses to return?
“There’s no way around it, after all, they’ve been childhood friends since they were little. Even if I had ten more years, my place in Keti’s life couldn’t surpass Alice’s.”
The priestess’s voice nearly cracked as she spoke, and the elf girl nodded seriously before continuing calmly:
“So… if we want to provoke Keti into coming back, the best way now is to work through Alice!”
