Deya City—the portal of light behind the Church of the Goddess of Life slowly opened, and Truth stepped back through the gateway that Olivia had created using Faith Power.
Since her title was “Prophet Goddess,” being able to wield Faith Power was undoubtedly one of her basic abilities.
Moreover, to help Olivia—a rather fragile individual—protect herself, the Goddess of Life had directly authorized a portion of Faith Power for her use.
On top of that, since both natural disasters and demons were doing everything they could to capture her, Olivia had immediately vanished after sending Truth back, promising to get in touch if anything came up.
Truth didn’t pester Olivia with questions. After all, this was the Goddess of Life’s domain; it wouldn’t do if her inquiries were overheard…
It was now noon, and most of the blessed believers had already dispersed.
Yet Deya City remained teeming with people, bustling with discussions about the bright future ahead and praises for the Holy Maiden.
Truth’s Faith Points were steadily increasing bit by bit.
“My stats are mostly still in the double digits, but my Faith Points have already reached 34,000…”
Without rushing out from behind the church toward the lively city center, Truth first checked her status panel:

“Damn it, even though I have more Faith Points now, I still don’t know what exactly they do. All I know is that I can send things to my believers from a distance. Looks like I need to level up quickly, but there’s been so much going on lately that I haven’t had the time.”
Truth resolved to visit the Adventurers’ Guild soon—there had to be plenty of ways to grind levels there. After all, she hadn’t even explored it yet since arriving in this era.
“But before that, I should take care of the Holy Maiden matter first.”
She put away her panel, adjusted her clothes, and slowly pushed open the heavy door.
Suddenly, a male voice called out from behind her:
“Wait a moment, Holy Maiden.”
Turning around, she saw a man dressed in dark gray stealth gear step out from the shadows near the changing room.
Approaching her, he removed the mask covering his face, revealing a slightly aged but composed expression, then performed a formal greeting from some unknown region.
A Mid-tier Assassin? Truth immediately recognized his profession—after all, the skills of Shadow Stealth and concealed presence were all too familiar to her.
“Who are you?” she asked calmly.
Oh? He looked a little surprised she wasn’t scared. Was he not afraid that she might think he was here to assassinate her? It seemed the Ninth Saintess was steadier than she appeared.
“Apologies for the abrupt interruption. My name is Bazelle, a scout from the Sun Family.”
Bazelle produced a Sun Emblem to prove his identity, then took out a palm-sized Exquisite Wooden Box and offered it with both hands.
“Congratulations, Holy Maiden, on receiving the Goddess’s recognition. Witnessing your emergence from the Sanctuary of the Life Goddess was my honor. To express the Sun Family’s respect, we prepared this gift for you.”
So it was a gift… No wonder this guy was hiding here—to be the first to present a gift.
People worldwide were the same after all.
Truth took the wooden box and opened it, finding a quietly resting silver-white pendant inside.
“This is an exquisite-quality space artifact,” Bazelle explained. “It can store at least fifteen cubic meters of items. I believe it will be a great convenience for you in the future.”
An exquisite-level magical item! Most people would never see such an artifact in their lifetime, and this Space Pendant was priceless.
A storage space of fifteen cubic meters could be used for countless things—smuggling and theft were just the most mundane applications.
With this pendant, she could practically achieve wealth freedom right here in Deya City!
The Sun Family was clearly going all out to win her favor. There were few who could resist being tempted by this pendant!
Truth simply said “Oh” and closed the box, placing it on a small table nearby. Then, looking at the somewhat baffled Bazelle, she asked:
“What is the Sun Family?”
“Huh?”
Bazelle was at a loss. The script should have been the Holy Maiden beaming with joy at the pendant and showing strong interest in his overtures. But now, her indifferent expression confused him.
Not understanding the pendant’s value might be one thing, but asking a question like “What is the Sun Family?”—something even a child would know—was unbelievable. Was she even a citizen of Sylvia?
“Heh… hehe, the Holy Maiden sure loves to joke,” Bazelle said with a helpless expression, but he didn’t dare slack off and answered seriously:
“The Sun Family is better known by another name—the Vanguard Family! The Vanguard Family carries the mission of fighting the Demon King. Over a millennium of warfare, the descendants of the first Hero, Aize, spread and finally founded one of the world’s greatest city-states—the Sun City—on the easternmost border of our kingdom.”
“Oh—so they’re the descendants of that Dragon Mother Holatrix’s dragon knight Aize from the CG storyline, right?”
Truth nodded vaguely, making Bazelle even more bewildered. He didn’t know what CG story was, but he knew Aize wasn’t a dragon knight.
Wait, Aize’s first wife Holatrix was the Dragon Mother… Could the Holy Maiden be implying—
“Alright, I got it. Thanks for the gift. If there’s nothing else, I’ll get going.”
Ignoring Bazelle’s stunned look that said, “Why does this innocent-looking Ninth Saintess have such a dirty mind?” Truth continued forward.
But Bazelle called after her again:
“Please wait, Holy Maiden!”
Well, fine, he’d treat her as someone who didn’t understand anything. Bazelle decided to speak frankly:
“The reason our family gave you such a precious gift is that we want your support! Although two Saintesses have already pledged their backing, they are unable to help us fulfill our inherent mission.”
“But perhaps you can.”
“Can what?”
Bazelle took a deep breath and revealed the Sun Family’s urgent mission:
“To join the new generation of the Hero’s Party and follow the Hero to defeat the resurrected Demon King!”
