“Croak!!!”
The golden toad on the left suddenly throbbed violently in its throat.
Then, a booming roar, like the striking of a mighty bell, tore through the vast sky.
The entire Guanghan Palace seemed to tremble slightly from that single toad’s call.
At the same time—
“Rumble rumble rumble!”
The massive Red Hall Door responded with a deep rumble and slowly slid open just enough to allow passage.
The instant the door opened—
A lazy, chilly, yet naturally enchanting immortal voice flowed out, impossible to ignore.
The voice carried a teasing laughter: “Tsk tsk tsk… Xue Xue~
“To think I even specially made a little back door for you in the backyard back then…”
The voice paused, dragged the tone out and raised it slightly, “And yet? You never used it once! Truly, you’ve broken this merciful heart of mine~”
Trap!
Dog?
Bah,
“Huh?” Hearing this, Xun Xue burst into laughter in irritation. Holding Lu Qiancha’s hand, she strode unapologetically into the hall.
Facing the cold, peerless figure reclining leisurely on the Long Chair of Ice at the far end of the palace, she raised her voice and shouted, “Huang Hua! Put away your…”
“You call that a ‘little back door’? That’s clearly just a dog hole you have to crawl through!”
On the ice-carved dragon chair, the woman of unmatched beauty and chilling aura like frost and moonlight barely twitched her brow.
Her eyes cast a sideways glance, sharp as shards of ancient ice, pinpointing Xun Xue’s face.
The corner of her lips lifted into a bewitching smile that could topple the world: “Xue Xue, aren’t you just a… rather fine-looking little dog yourself?”
“Huang Hua!” Xun Xue felt as if someone had stepped on her tail and nearly jumped on the spot. Her fluffy, ghostly blue hair and the large tail behind her flared up in an instant with a “swish!”
Gritting her teeth, she pointed at the woman on the throne, her voice almost hoarse from shouting, “I’ve said it eight hundred times! I am a noble, dignified, and fierce wolf! Qiancha.”
“If you say I’m a dog one more time, I swear I’ll rip the roof off this Guanghan Palace!”
In that moment, the cold inside the hall plummeted sharply, as if the icy walls were coated in an even thicker layer of frost.
“Oh dear~”
Faced with such a fierce outburst,
Huang Hua—the stunning Primordial Lord who wields the Taiyin Authority—finally rose leisurely from her dragon chair.
Her wide sleeves drifted like flowing clouds.
A set of furniture formed purely from condensed Yuelight Essence Desk and Chair appeared out of thin air in the middle of the hall.
She stepped lightly, as if treading on flowing moonlight, and elegantly sat down in the Taishi Chair directly facing the entrance.
Then, she propped her delicate chin on one hand with grace, her moon-white starry eyes lazily scanning the still-fluffed Xun Xue and the stiff, statue-like Lu Qiancha beside her.
Huang Hua’s lips curled into a seemingly innocent but actually mischievous smile: “Alright, alright~ Xue Xue, don’t be angry…”
Her chilly voice slowed down, carrying a tinglingly soothing tone: “How long has it been since we last met? I was only teasing you a little, surely you can’t…”
She sighed softly, a hint of slyness flashing through her gaze: “Not even able to take such a small joke, hmm~?”
Hearing this, Lu Qiancha couldn’t help but glance back and forth between Xun Xue and Huang Hua, her expression strange.
It felt like she was overhearing something quite significant.
“Don’t say such irritating things.”
Xun Xue sat down unceremoniously opposite Huang Hua, arms crossed, glaring furiously: “I came all this way riding the moonlight just to visit, and you had to find a way to needle me? You did this on purpose, right?!”
“Hehe~” Huang Hua’s moon-white eyes shimmered with deeper amusement, as if looking at a puffy pet, “I just wanted to add some warmth to this cold palace with some playful words. Xue Xue is… just mad out of embarrassment?”
“Cut the act!” Xun Xue snorted sharply through her nose, chin lifted, cutting to the chase, “I don’t have time to argue with you this time—I brought my precious daughter with me to visit!”
She rubbed Lu Qiancha’s head beside her, her tone suddenly filled with undisguised pride and dominance: “Good food, good fun, show it all quickly. No hoarding!”
“Daughter?!”
The trademark cold smile at Huang Hua’s lips shattered instantly like an ice-covered lake cracking into pieces.
Her previously lazy, leaning posture stiffened abruptly.
Her jade-cold eyes gleamed with a sharp scrutinizing light as they slowly focused on the tiny wolf pup beside her—who looked like a miniature version of Xun Xue, only able to poke out her curious little face and ears due to her small size and the high seat.
The temperature inside the hall seemed to drop by ten degrees.
A faint yet bone-chilling frost pressure quietly spread out, accompanied by Huang Hua’s suddenly darkened voice: “This child, whose is she?”
Then, Huang Hua’s cold gaze fixed on the little girl, who was trying hard to listen with her blue wolf ears standing upright and a half-curious, half-cautious face peeking out.
“Mine.”
Xun Xue’s answer was firm, decisive, and self-righteous, with a hint of ‘are you stupid?’ in her expression, “Who else would she belong to? Stop wasting words here.”
Huang Hua’s mouth twitched.
Suppressing the displeasure inside, she continued: “Xue’er! I’m asking, who did you marry? Whose bloodline is this child?!”
“We’re not married. This child is simply mine.”
Xun Xue placed her hands on her hips and spoke righteously: “I gave birth to her and I raise her.”
Lu Qiancha quickly glanced at Xun Xue upon hearing this but said nothing further.
Huang Hua stared at her close sister, her eyes swirling with a barely contained icy chill.
Every word dripped with biting frost: “Xue’er, you haven’t been tricked by some heartless scoundrel, then abandoned, right?”
“Crack—!”
Before the words even finished,
The jade-cold armrest, harder than black iron, was silently crushed to powder by a thread of anger leaking from her fingers, scattering like dust.
Huang Hua lifted her eyes and stared straight at Xun Xue, her words filled with murderous intent:
“Who is that man? Give me his name and birth details, and I will personally descend to the mortal realm to slay that villain.”
She bit the last words like crushing gold and jade.
The killing intent was so fierce that even the red-eyed golden toads guarding the hall shrank their heads.
Lu Qiancha involuntarily leaned back slightly, wondering if immortals really had become so violent—just one disagreement and they come down to kill?
“You’re out of your mind? Such murderous temper?”
Xun Xue was startled by this sudden thunderous killing aura but quickly showed her disdain: “Get your head clear. It’s not what you think. I’m not married, nor did I meet any heartless man.”
Facing Huang Hua’s still frosty, probing gaze, Xun Xue sighed helplessly.
Under Huang Hua’s questioning eyes, she explained everything clearly.
“So, this child can be said to be a foundling?”
Huang Hua rubbed her forehead in speechless frustration.
Her gaze towards Lu Qiancha was full of strangeness.
Then she looked back at the little wolf pup who had been quietly trying to blend into the background, her expression complex beyond words.
