Under the setting sun, a silver-haired girl flew alongside the birds in the sky.
Ever since she was hurled out by a powerful force, she had been flying straight like a cannonball.
Even now, she was still flying, with no end in sight, helplessly watching everything unfold without any power to stop or resist.
She seemed to recall the past… it was just like this that caused Sieg to lose everything…
D
Had she changed nothing in the end? Was she truly powerless to do anything?
Amelia couldn’t help but despise her own cowardly incompetence. She didn’t know how long had passed.
The powerful force gradually dissipated, and the girl in the air stopped flying, falling vertically faster and faster.
During her fall, she neither resisted nor struggled. It was unclear if she was trusting something or simply giving up.
But soon, with the last remnants of Sieg’s magic activated, she landed lightly as if she were a feather.
Her lady’s leather shoe gently touched the grass, her legs weakened, and she collapsed backward, finally unable to stay upright.
Her eyes dimmed, and her exquisitely beautiful face showed a trace of self-reproach and despair.
There was no joy of survival after the disaster.
Her slender jade hand covered her snow-white forehead, and her mind overflowed with countless thoughts.
Now, she couldn’t live without Sieg.
She couldn’t live without him at all.
If he were gone, it might as well be death for her.
Death… wouldn’t even be unacceptable.
After all, her only motivation to live was Sieg. She had no other thoughts left.
If anything happened to him, living would be meaningless.
But the moment she was thrown out, she understood the other’s painstaking intentions.
Her hand brushed over the belongings thrown out together with Sieg — those things…
If she went back now, all his efforts and sacrifices would be in vain, and that would be a greater betrayal to him.
Conflicted in an instant, she became lost and confused.
Maybe she was just too weak, she thought bitterly, suffering.
After all, all these tragedies were caused by the person’s own lack of strength…
I wish I had power.
Perhaps she once had some strength, but ever since she was expelled, now she had nothing left — except this body.
She no longer prayed to the gods.
If she had to pray, it was only to Sieg, praying that he would appear by her side.
These inner conflicts didn’t last long.
Soon, she made up her mind.
Her tender fists clenched tightly, lips bitten gently, determined to die with Sieg, no more running away.
Redemption should be paid for with everything.
Even if it meant betraying his painstaking intentions, she couldn’t accept a world without Sieg — not even for a minute.
Of course, she wouldn’t let Gerard succeed either. After all, she was Sieg’s woman.
A faint smile curled at the corner of her mouth.
Slowly rising, she got up from the lawn, brushed off her face, and ran under the sunset.
The silhouette of the determined girl was moving hearts.
She kept running hard toward the Demon King’s Castle, as fast as she could.
She didn’t know how long she had been running.
Out of breath, her hair disheveled and utterly devoid of grace, her face smeared indistinguishably with sweat and tears — only her unwavering gaze remained.
Pain kept radiating from her long legs, reddened and swollen, aching unbearably.
Every step was a struggle; she even lost one of her shoes along the way.
As night fell, the moonlight was still beautiful and enchanting.
Her blood-red eyes faintly caught the reflection of the Demon King’s Castle.
Darkness blanketed the area — no longer vibrant and lively as before.
Only the impenetrable black sphere remained at its center, sealing everything inside.
Not letting anyone in or out.
Just a single glance sent chills down the spine.
Seeing this, Amelia regained her spirit once again.
With a dry mouth, she kept calling out Sieg’s name, continuing to run without pause.
She knew the goal was right in front of her.
Giving up was impossible.
In theory, even running, no matter how fast, she couldn’t possibly have come back this quickly.
After all, it should have taken at least ten or fifteen days to return.
The distance between where she landed and the Demon King’s Castle was hundreds of thousands of miles.
Yet, something had changed around her in that time — no one could explain it.
That was Amelia’s unique power.
Not reliant on anyone or any tool, nor any intervention from the gods.
Simply the power of love — the power born from her longing for Sieg.
It surpassed everyone’s expectations, even those of the gods, who hadn’t foreseen this step.
Some even lamented that this was the price of losing control over a pawn — this woman was terrifying.
But she had no time or energy to care about that.
Her mind was filled only with hope to return quickly, to live and die alongside Sieg.
Finally back, her heavy footsteps came to a stop.
Amid the ruins left by battle, she left footprints one by one.
The silver-haired girl gasped for breath, drawing in one breath after another, continuously adjusting her state.
Joy surged through her heart, dispersing her exhaustion, and she steeled herself.
She didn’t stop because she had given up — she stopped because she had reached her destination.
Her blood-red eyes reflected a huge sphere, vast in coverage, sealing the Demon King’s Castle completely without any gaps.
She lifted her delicate jade hand to sense it, closing her eyes.
As expected, she found Sieg’s faint presence, and also the hateful Gerard, like the sun that scorches.
The two seemed to be fighting inside.
Accompanied by a series of explosions echoing in her ears, it was Sieg, battered and bruised, being blasted out by a powerful force.
He coughed up fresh blood, even expelled a barrier, flying toward Amelia’s direction.
He muttered, “You fell for it, Gerard. This is my escape route.”
Thrown out, he raised his hand midair to try closing the barrier, hoping to buy some time.
He had planned to trap Gerard here, even if only for a short while, to buy Amelia time to run farther, to reduce her presence and avoid being found.
He had known from the start he couldn’t keep him trapped forever, but at least for ten days or so…
Yet, plans couldn’t keep up with changes.
Probably due to long neglect and the other’s cheating, too.
The barrier didn’t hold for even half a day.
Seeing Gerard break the barrier and chase after them, blood-red steam rising all over him, the whole man looked very off.
Even Sieg couldn’t help but laugh dryly.
He thought it was absurd.
Gerard kept getting stronger without limits, as if he was eating something, and kept eating.
Thinking of this, he spread his hands, ready to accept death.
After all, he had no resurrection totem left, and struggling was meaningless.
“I’ve bought enough time. I’ve done my best.”
Using the magic he placed on Amelia, Gerard would most likely not find her.
Perhaps she had just fallen right next to the girl.
His pupils dilated, hoping it was just a hallucination.
His thoughts abruptly stopped as he raised his hand to touch the long leg, feeling the delicate skin, the pale smoothness.
Though some redness and swelling spoiled the beauty, it was indeed her. It was really her.
“**, ………..”
M
He had just about to speak when Gerard came rushing wildly.
He kept chanting the girl’s name.
Like someone famished seeing a delicious meal, probably fueled by drugs, his battle power surged, making him delirious.
“Amelia, you really came back to see me.
I knew you couldn’t bear to leave me.
I love you, love love love love love love love you.
Let’s go.”
“Damn it.”
With no choice but to continue struggling desperately, Sieg frantically searched his groin, fumbling for an emergency item.
He actually found one.
Quickly, he threw it on the ground, forming a small barrier.
It barely enclosed Amelia and himself, cramped and narrow, the two pressed almost together.
Only the useless Gerard remained outside, swinging his fists, trying to break the barrier.
But it was to no avail.
Still, this was only temporary safety.
