‘Although she was taller than me and more developed, Lando inexplicably felt that the other girl was the type easy to take advantage of.’ Â
Before she realized it, her hand had already comfortably rolled around in the other’s fluffy hair.
The pink-haired little Mouse turned around in surprise, looking at Lando, who stared back with those icy blue eyes for a moment before hastily pulling her hand away, smiling awkwardly. Â
“Oh, I remember now, you’re the talented kid Miti mentioned.”
After scrutinizing Lando for a moment, Su Mu suddenly smacked her forehead in realization, then put down the game controller, rubbed her slightly numb legs, and stood up.
Lando’s gaze gradually shifted upward until it was firmly locked on a pair of things she couldn’t look away from.
Seeing it like this, it really was quite indecent.
Though thinking it was indecent, her body was honest—she unconsciously buried her eyes deep in the valley barely exposed between the buttons of Su Mu’s cartoon pajamas.
Su Mu naturally caught the direct stare and instinctively turned away, pouting slightly.
“Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to offend.”
Seeing Su Mu’s scolding expression, Lando’s heart immediately filled with panic and guilt as she apologized repeatedly, silently blaming herself.
Why did she lose control of herself at a moment like this?
Could it really be because of that thing left inside her body by that woman? Â
“It’s fine. Uh, let’s eat some pudding first. Sit.”
Su Mu’s face flushed as she turned around to grab a pudding nearby, inwardly grumbling.
‘What was I thinking? She’s just a little girl, what does she know? Look at her all scared.’Â Â
Though thinking that, Su Mu still felt strangely teased.
Since things had come to this, she might as well eat some pudding to calm her nerves.
“What’s your name?”
“Me? I’m Luo Jialan.”
Lando sat down next to Su Mu, tilting her head as she answered, taking the pudding handed to her.
The sweet caramel aroma instantly wafted into her nose, making her unconsciously sink into the moment.
Right now, being able to sit peacefully on this comfortable cushion felt a bit strange, as if she was supposed to have some conflict with the other.
But even though she had just been so offensive, Su Mu didn’t hold any grudge and even offered such a good pudding.
She really was a gentle person.
“Nice name, sounds very literary. I’m Su Mu, the Magic Girl supervisor. Don’t let my youthful looks fool you—I’m almost thirty.”
And almost thirty, still single and unemployed, a homebody who, if not for Magic Girls, would be living off her mom’s support.
“You look nothing like it; you look so young and pretty.”
Lando’s surprised expression was genuine.
Hearing such praise, a smile involuntarily curved Su Mu’s lips as she kept adding pudding to Lando’s plate. Â
Such sweet talk.
“So, do you want to become a Magic Girl? I can tell you have talent and will definitely become a famous Magic Girl.”
But Lando’s gaze lingered on Su Mu and on her plate full of pudding.
After a moment’s hesitation, she spoke impulsively:Â Â
“After becoming a Magic Girl, will I be able to see you often?”
Su Mu froze, the spoon hanging mid-air.
“Of course you can.”
Unexpectedly, Su Mu didn’t deny it.
Was she secretly hoping for such a thing? Â
To work alongside such a lively, adorable girl.
Though they’d only just met minutes ago, Su Mu felt as if she’d known her for a long time.
Just looking at those slender fingers brought a sense of ease and joy. Â
Had she been alone too long?
Or had she recently read too many fanfics about elemental Magic Girls? Â
But she was already 27 and didn’t want to waste the girl’s youth…
She should be very popular, always surrounded by handsome, humorous people, and find the one who truly fit her best. Â
“That’s great. I-I want to become a Magic Girl.”
Lando’s pale purple eyes suddenly sparkled like stars, dazzling Su Mu and enchanting her so much she forgot all her earlier distractions.
The only thing she could say in response was a simple, “Okay.”
The conflict that should have arisen was quietly dispelled amidst the sweetness of shared pudding.
Nearby, “Miti” watched silently for a long while, sighing without a sound.
This was another story entirely.
Her Camera captured this moment, everything fading away as the shutter clicked.
What could prove what had just happened, aside from the photos Tang Nai held, were the sincere feelings in Su Mu and Lando’s hearts that would never fade.
Meeting again with different identities and appearances, then walking toward a seemingly more romantic ending.
The two girls who locked eyes again had unknowingly embraced each other, white sparkling lights dancing beside them, blessing them.
An extra Memory Point lit up, marking a new, better story—one where Su Mu replaced Tang Nai in becoming the conclusion.
Lando probably wouldn’t resent Tang Nai anymore; she might be more willing to forget that person and embrace the better Su Mu who belonged to her.
“Don’t worry, at least I’ll always hate you.”
By Tang Nai’s ear, a voice eerily similar to Su Mu’s suddenly sounded.
Upon hearing it, Tang Nai smiled knowingly, “Irina, you borrowed my collection to flirt with Little Miti, and now you’re heartlessly pulling out? Isn’t it too soon?” Â
“Look at what you’re saying. How can I be pulling out? You were the one who got tricked out of it all. In the end, it’s your fault.”
“Fine, blame me then. But I won’t take responsibility.”
Saying that, Tang Nai flipped her hair back, gently set down the photo in her hand, and then quietly vanished—just as silently as when she arrived.
***
“Hey, Little Mouse Mu, which train are you taking back? And your seat?”
“The first G74 in the morning, Car 10, Seat 13D.”
Su Mu checked her ticket again while glancing at Ye Wanqing’s electronic ticket, her expression instantly freezing.
G74, Car 10, Seat 13E.
“Are you kidding me? Did you deliberately buy the seat next to me?”
“Hah, you talk as if anyone wants to sit beside you. I’m just worried you’ll drool on my clothes when you fall asleep.”
Though saying that, Ye Wanqing couldn’t help but reveal a bit of delight on her face.
“Only you would do something like that!”
Su Mu was still surprised by the coincidence, even suspecting Irina had secretly done some magic again.
“So, for the 8-hour trip, what should we bring tomorrow morning? Instant noodles? Self-heating rice? Playing cards?”
“I suggest you don’t get excited too early.”
It wasn’t that Su Mu wanted to dampen Ye Wanqing’s enthusiasm; just thinking about her purpose for going back made her heart sink uncontrollably.
Sigh.
