Somewhere in Deya City, inside a luxurious building heavily guarded by enforcers, Gadelia brought Suna here right after the martial trial ended.
Since Reg had become a candidate Hero and was now officially a human god, he couldn’t go to Snowveil City.
Truth had been chosen as the Saintess, and Mailun was disqualified for cheating. On top of that, Reg’s taunts had completely broken Mailun’s morale— he was still ranting crazily over at the training ground.
So now, Gadelia could only bring Suna here to meet with Her Highness.
Suna was a little nervous. She hadn’t expected an interview after the martial trial ended. Wasn’t she supposed to just go home and rest until the results came out the next day? And why was she the only one brought here?
Following the senior Skywing warrior in front of her, she entered a spacious conference room, where a pair of fluffy cat ears immediately caught her eye.
“Hello, Suna, I am Vilona, from the Northern Royalty, meow.”
Dressed formally, Vilona sat at the far end of the conference table, studying Suna with keen interest. In front of her lay the exam paper Suna had written during the written test.
“Y-You… hello?”
Suna sat respectfully opposite Vilona. Gadelia stood beside Vilona, her cold expression pressing down on Suna like an invisible weight. Even a senior Skywing warrior could only stand next to this little cat?
Vilona straightened her back, trying to add a bit of dignity to herself, but like Truth, her height was a disadvantage.
“We are very satisfied with your results. Congratulations, meow. You are the only student from Deya City accepted by us. Please pack your things quickly and prepare to go to Snowveil City with us, meow.”
Only one student was accepted— there was no choice. To avoid drawing attention, Vilona would have to place Suna’s name on the admission list for the Sylvia Royal Capital after returning to the Academy.
Doing this, however, meant risking being ‘ear-tugged’ by some Scourge Fire Meteor Sky Island mage… but that was still better than being whispered at by some annoying priest!
Accepted? I got accepted?!
Suna’s emotions surged. She actually had the chance to study at the Royal Magic Academy!
Thank the Goddess… no, wait, maybe I should thank that demon?
Though it felt a bit perfunctory and rushed… Why did she have to leave for Snowveil City so soon? The next semester hadn’t even started yet.
Seeing Suna’s confusion, Gadelia cleared her throat and responded.
“Because Deya City might not be safe for a while, Her Highness will return to Snowveil City immediately. And crossing half of Sylvia alone is quite dangerous— you’d better come with us.”
Is that so… Suna hesitated. She didn’t want to leave so soon, after all, she still had many things to resolve. And if what Gadelia said about the city’s insecurity was true, wouldn’t her father be in danger?
I can’t just abandon my father.
Her cat ears twitched. Vilona quickly noticed Suna’s hesitation and quietly asked Gadelia what was going on. Had the Royal Magic Academy lost its appeal?
“Your Highness, as far as I know, Suna is probably a lesbian. She might be afraid she won’t have time to be with her little girlfriend anymore,” Gadelia whispered back.
“Oh, oh, I understand, meow.”
Human preferences were strange— how could someone like the same gender? But preferences were one thing, talent was another.
Vilona valued Suna’s ability to control elemental power at Second Tier, and from the test papers, she didn’t discriminate against Beastkin. Suna was perfect for staying in Snowveil City.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to leave so soon, meow. But after this, you’ll have to find your own way to Snowveil City, meow.”
“Really? Thank you so much, Vilona, meow!”
Suna’s furrowed brow immediately relaxed, then she got a sharp glare from Gadelia.
“You must call her Her Highness Vilona!”
“Sorry…”
“Well then, we will leave here tomorrow. Do you have any other questions?”
Questions… Suna thought for a moment and realized she had one big question.
“Yes. About the demon!”
……
“Damn demon, try saying that one more time!”
“Just say it, you dead bitch!”
On the Deya Plateau, the two insults echoed alternately in Ariel’s mind as a gentle breeze brushed her tear-streaked face. At this moment, she was questioning her life choices.
After successfully summoning Lord Firestorm, before Ariel could explain the situation, Truth invaded her mind and delivered a ‘friendly’ greeting to Firestorm.
Then the two started cursing each other inside Ariel’s mind.
Ariel also discovered that the usually wise and inscrutable Lord Firestorm could get so flustered that he would curse others just like a drunken tavern brawler—throwing around words like “idiot” and “scum” with ease.
Her lofty image of Firestorm shattered. Was this really the dignity of a Sovereign-class powerhouse? More like the village gate shrew— utterly undignified!
And then there was this so-called Saintess, actually a high-ranking demon in disguise, who hurled curses at Firestorm… well, Ariel didn’t dare repeat those words in her mind, but they were truly shocking.
Who knew words could be combined like that? She’d learned something new today…
No wonder they were demons. If Ariel were insulted like that, she’d probably be reduced to tears, but Lord Firestorm could strike back. Indeed, a Sovereign-class powerhouse.
In truth, Firestorm was just as annoyed.
Five minutes ago, he received a call from his follower Ariel, saying she accidentally provoked a powerful entity while scouting the mist.
Alarmed, Firestorm activated all his defenses and anti-detection skills before responding.
Just as he was about to ask what happened, he found Ariel’s consciousness invaded by a pool of blood that morphed into a blood demon, which immediately shouted at him:
“Fuck your mother!”
“What?!”
Firestorm had thought it was the terrifying entity Ariel encountered in the mist, but it turned out to be a wildly insolent, foul-mouthed demon.
Not only did it bully my follower, but it didn’t even respect me? Isn’t that a bit much?
Firestorm immediately struck back. Hah, I’m known among Sovereigns as the sharpest-tongued god around. You primordial demon dare challenge me? Let’s see if you can handle my venomous words!
Ten minutes later, Firestorm was losing it.
Damn, these demons really have the most evil mouths!
This was the first time Firestorm saw someone use body parts as insults—he was barely holding his ground, even losing momentum…
Fine, since that’s how it is, don’t blame me for using my secret weapon:
“Done yapping? What good is your mouth? If you want compensation for your losses, you better check your own weight first!”
Firestorm unleashed his trump card: brute force rules.
Except when facing gods and the very rare Eleventh Tier beings, this move always worked! Against a peak Tenth Tier, all flashy tricks were useless!
“Fine then, come over here for a duel! I’m too lazy to keep yapping with you, you mother scorpion. If I don’t beat you to hell today, I’ll eat my own shit!” Truth retorted immediately.
With anti-detection activated, Truth saw Firestorm as a huge, crimson, fire-elemental scorpion with two long venomous stingers.
“You!”
Firestorm was truly furious now.
“Do you know who I am?!”
“Yes, yes, you’re the will incarnate born from the Scourge Fire Meteor Sky Island. If it weren’t for that damn sky island constantly moving and untraceable, I would’ve flown over long ago to let you feel your old man’s tough love!
I’ve wanted to beat you for a long time!”
