Unexpectedly, the casual excuse turned out to be true—they really were in the same QQ group.
The probability wasn’t that low after all, considering the game only had 16 players, and five of them came from the same QQ group.
The chance of running into each other was far higher than winning the lottery.
“According to what you said, your Hamster Squad has five people in the game, right?” Ragna’s expression grew serious as he looked at Hua Ru. “Your name is Benzina?”
The girl nodded elegantly.
“And you’re Ji Zeng Wuyuan?” Ragna shifted his gaze to Yelena.
“Yeah!” The young girl happily confirmed.
“And you must be that Rabis something?” Finally, his gaze settled on Xukesi.
(Cantonese) “Not just Rabis something! It’s Rabis Lazli!” Xukesi hurried to correct the Japanese high school student’s mispronunciation.
“Number 10 is that Infinite Monarch guy, right?” Ragna ignored the displeased Hong Kong reporter’s reaction and kept asking.
“Yeah! That’s how ‘pa pa pa’ described him. He said the Infinite Monarch from the previous world appeared as a man in his thirties, really into smoking.
The whole vibe was kinda… gloomy? Lethargic? Extremely sharp-minded, anyone he targeted just died. That’s what ‘pa pa pa’ said,” Yelena wracked her brain to recall what had happened two days ago.
(Cantonese) “Yeah, that’s definitely the old man,” Xukesi confirmed with certainty.
“So, number 10 really is smart, huh? A big threat?” Ragna propped his chin and pondered.
(Cantonese) “Isn’t that obvious? That guy wiped out number 2 with just words. How can he not be scary? I’m scared of him.”
“What about Lin Yuexuan? What’s he good at? Can you tell who he is?” The high school girl looked serious and reliable.
(Cantonese) “That ‘piapiapia’ said Lin Yuexuan is super good at acting cute, and his conversation topics jump all over the place.
One minute he’s chatting about sweet and salty tofu pudding, next minute he’s debating politics in the M78 Nebula.
The guy’s a master at diverting the topic.
No data on his combat abilities though. Just that intel cost me 100 points,” Number 12 Rabis Lazli said angrily, clearly feeling the points were wasted.
Ragna also felt a headache coming on.
What kind of crappy intel was this? And it cost 100 points? Smiling bitterly, he asked, “So how many points did you get scammed out of?”
(Cantonese) “Originally 300, but the guy came to sell me stuff again within two minutes of the game starting, so I bought it. I got all four packs.”
“If I knew this game was such a cash grab, I would’ve gotten into this business,” Ragna lamented.
“What about your side? What’s going on with your QQ group?” Hua Ru suddenly asked an off-topic question after a long silence.
Knowing this woman was sharp, Ragna stopped his own thoughts and answered seriously, “My situation is complicated—it’s a battle team, FS Team, Squad 7.”
Huh? Battle team? Squad 7?
(Cantonese) “What? You guys have gaming battle teams?” Xukesi looked utterly confused, not understanding what “battle team” meant.
“Don’t you know? After 10,000 points, you reach a new level, and after 100,000 points, yet another level.
High-level players can apply to the admins to create QQ groups.
We call those groups ‘battle teams.’ For example, I somehow joined FS Team Squad 7. I often see people being ‘moved around,’ but I don’t know how that works.
The strongest players in our group sometimes suddenly disappear, without being kicked.
After a while, their names reappear. I later learned they were being called to the main team to fight,” Ragna’s words revealed explosive information.
“Does the battle team QQ group have special privileges? Isn’t the Dark World mode supposed to be random?
Isn’t moving top players to the main team just self-destructive? Or can you guys see the next game mode in advance?” Hua Ru grew anxious, a flood of questions swirling in her mind.
“The battle team QQ groups are probably the same as normal QQ groups, as far as I know.
The only extra power is the ability to ‘transfer’ players: spending points to move squad members to the main team for a certain time.
People in the main team can’t go to the squad teams, though. That’s all I know about special privileges.
I’ve never joined a regular QQ group, so I don’t know what powers they have,” Ragna slowly explained the first question.
“What about the Dark World mode? I know there’s solo mode, team mode, and group battles. Aren’t those modes random? Can you guys choose the next mode? Or see it beforehand?” Hua Ru pressed on, desperate for answers.
“It’s all about feel. The main team is supposed to handle group battles.
The bigger the player count, the higher the chance of group battles—especially at full capacity with 500 people.
No one can actively choose to enter the Dark World when it’s full.
Once players come out of the Dark World and the protection time ends, the group battle begins.
Transferring the squad’s best players to the main team is to prepare for these brutal group battles.
But the system’s sneaky. When there are less than 500 players, it says only a few enter the Dark World, but secretly hides them, then slowly pushes players in batches until everyone is in, then group battles start.”
A flash of insight sparked in Hua Ru’s mind.
Thinking carefully, if no one in a group’s QQ group is inside the Dark World and everyone’s passed the protection period, wouldn’t that increase the chance of group battle?
No, wait.
If that were true, then if a QQ group had only one person in the Dark World, wouldn’t there always be a high chance of group battles?
Still, this speculation didn’t rule out the possibility that the system had clearer settings.
For example, if a group had over 100 members and no one was in the Dark World, it might boost the group battle chance.
That sounded plausible but lacked evidence—just pure guesswork.
“What’s the strongest player in your group like? Can they fly or disappear?” Hua Ru asked again.
“No idea. I’ve privately messaged the top players, but they ignore me. Occasionally, I hear others say they’re excellent shots and quick thinkers, nothing about flying or disappearing,” Ragna answered seriously, not sounding like he was lying.
“What about the main team? The main team that can create battle teams should be strong, right?”
“Only those top players know that! They ignore me. I’ve asked, but no one answers. Those guys barely talk, not even once a month.”
“Once a month?” Hua Ru caught another lie. “You said this is your fourth time entering the Dark World, and the protection period is three days, so this isn’t your fourth time.”
“Five times, just five,” Ragna looked embarrassed. Seeing the girl’s disgusted look, he broke into a cold sweat. “Six times, really. Okay, seven times, this time’s for real. No lie. This is my seventh time in the Dark World.”
“How many people from your QQ group have entered here?” Hua Ru changed the subject.
“About two hundred, maybe 240,” Ragna answered while recalling, uncertain even himself.
“I’m asking how many from your QQ group have entered this Dark World now,” Hua Ru clarified.
“Three. Me, someone called ‘Tian Shaoyue Tian,’ and another called ‘Yi Zishen.’ We’re all noobs in Squad Five, always at the bottom. So no intel on them, no idea about their strength or brains,” Ragna’s words meant there was no useful information, and he didn’t know which players they were here.
Not wanting to misunderstand, Hua Ru asked again, “Do you know their numbers?”
Ragna shook his head and answered regretfully, “No idea.”
