【[DOMAIN – DESCENT OF THE DARK MOON】.
Awesome! This is what real magical bombardment looks like!
“We won’t be much help indoors,” Brayetta said.
“That’s enough. Leave the rest to us.” Samimi nodded, gripping her Runic Staff as she charged forward.
“Wait for me!” Rebecca and Niubao quickly followed, rushing toward the gates of the Flame Apprentice Grand Castle.
But they saw the Hong Lion, who had narrowly escaped the Dark Moon bombardment, desperately shaking the castle gates to keep them closed, refusing to let them in.
“Talking big but no fight! When it comes to running, you’re the fastest!” Samimi smirked at this despicable little man instead of getting angry.
“Damned Heretical Magician! Attack! Attack!” the Hong Lion shouted wildly to both sides.
Samimi instantly became alert, glancing left and right, noticing magical staffs poking out from the windows of the Grand Castle.
They conjured fireballs and hurled them straight at their own gates, not bothering with precision—just pure bombardment.
“Hah!” Samimi could only deploy the Thorn Comb Wall to protect her companions, determined to survive this wave of attacks first.
Only if they could rush inside the castle would they gain terrain advantage; trading fire magic on the open grassland was utterly foolish—they could only defend passively.
Although the Thorn Comb Wall’s defense wasn’t as formidable as Mirror Magic, the Thorn Dream could erode the flames and still hold.
However, with so much delay, the Hong Lion was close to slamming the gates shut. If that happened, it would be a huge problem—they’d have to endure multiple rounds of the Grand Castle’s bombardment again.
Lately, all these giant fireballs had left them numb. Even if Samimi could endure it, and Niubao too, Priestess Rebecca was nearly suffocating from the smoke.
“Rebecca, hold on. Here’s a Healing Spell for you.”
Samimi casually cast a Healing Spell on Rebecca, but it didn’t help much; Rebecca wasn’t wounded externally—the smoke was an internal injury.
“I’m fine… really…” Rebecca gritted her teeth, but she clearly struggled to breathe.
“We can’t hold out here any longer! Niubao, prepare for a full assault!” Samimi snapped.
She had wanted to conserve her magic—after all, there were still ninety fiery mages to fight—but they hadn’t even breached the gates yet, and she had already spent a lot of magic.
But Niubao froze, refusing to obey Sister’s orders.
Yet where there’s trouble, there’s a reason. Niubao’s eyes narrowed, as if sensing something.
“Niubao, what did you notice?” Samimi asked.
Without waiting for an answer, she soon realized the Grand Castle gates were jammed halfway and hadn’t closed fully.
“What’s the Hong Lion up to? He’s actually leaving us a way out? No, this could be an empty city ruse designed to lure us in. But would the Hong Lion really have the brains for that?” Samimi quickly analyzed.
The next moment, they saw the Hong Lion being flung out like a lump of mud.
A radiant figure appeared in the gap of the gates, like a deity descending from the heavens.
“Is that you? Wolfie! No wonder I felt something was missing.” Samimi was overjoyed, immediately dragging Rebecca into the enemy stronghold.
Inside the castle hall, dozens of Flame Apprentices lay defeated, all taken down by surprise attacks from behind.
This was a serious violation of the Magicians’ code of ethics, but after all this fighting, who still cared about Magician morals and rules? The first to break the rules were the Flame School themselves!
Samimi had known about Shadow Wolf Girl’s magic from the start.
Wolfie practiced Breath Concealment Magic and Invisibility Magic—she was a stealthy magic user.
To be honest, the trio of Heretical Magicians outside—the invincible “Threefold Spider Tank”—was already insanely powerful, but at least they used proper magic.
The White Spider provided mobility, Brayetta handled defense, and Alisa was the attacker.
Their flawless team composition made Samimi think these three could even challenge the Mage King and win.
But Shadow Wolf Girl was the real outlier among the Heretical Magician Four Sisters. How could a proper magic user learn stealth, and learn it so well? She wielded magic to move even more covertly than a true assassin.
Still, her skills perfectly complemented the Threefold Spider Tank. The Spider Tank forged ahead, and Wolfie infiltrated the enemy’s base to sabotage it.
So why not have the four of them just take down the Mage King already? They might as well be heroes!
“Well done, Wolfie,” Samimi silently mocked in her heart but smiled as she joked aloud, “But are you even a real magic user, Wolfie?”
“My Breath Concealment and Invisibility are theoretically within the magic realm,” Wolfie defended.
“I’m just teasing. Great job, Wolfie. Here, a hug.” Samimi tried to pet her like a dog, but Wolfie scowled, took a step back, and refused the affection.
“Lady Samimi, we’re still behind enemy lines. Please behave.” Rebecca reprimanded strictly.
“The magicians on the first floor are already knocked out, but they were just low-level apprentices. The real experts must be lying in ambush upstairs,” Wolfie reported on the battle status.
“Understood. Wolfie, can you locate the Hong Lion?” Samimi asked.
“On the rooftop,” Wolfie answered.
“Got it.” Samimi’s expression grew cold as she issued orders. “Niubao, it’s your time to shine. Full power fire allowed, just don’t kill anyone.”
“Understood.” Niubao mimicked Samimi’s tone and expression, though her face was naturally expressionless, so it was hard to tell if she was truly cold or not.
However, as she slowly drew the Divine Hammer from behind with her left hand and the Golden Sword from her waist with her right, she transformed directly into a Mad Berserker, dual-wielding weapons.
Cold or not, one thing was clear—this was hot-blooded enemy bloodshed.
“Round Comb Crown.”
“Thorny Encasement.” (A portable eggshell-shaped magic shield.)
“Human Resistance Boost.”
“Priest-exclusive Defense Enhancement – Combination Spell.”
“Warrior-exclusive Offense Enhancement – Combination Spell.”
Samimi wielded a double approach, expending huge amounts of magic, even casting repetitive spells to amplify Niubao into a superhuman.
Without hesitation, Niubao took a powerful stride, moving so fast she looked like a buzzing fly, instantly storming up to the second floor.
“Gotcha! Hong Lion, you’ve been targeted by me! Eat shoe pie!”
Once again, the vengeful Priestess Rebecca approached the Hong Lion, who lay dazed on the ground, and stomped heavily on his face, ten times before she was satisfied.
The Hong Lion had already been semi-conscious but now was completely unconscious and unrecognizable.
“Alright sisters, don’t kill him. Just maim him enough.”
Samimi pulled Rebecca away, secretly releasing some steam by kicking the Hong Lion a few times herself.
“By the way, old Mi and old Ka,” Wolfie added, “I also smelled that traitor’s stench.”
