“Wow! Get out of the way!”
The opposing Fire Mages were startled by the rebounding small fireball and let out a loud cry.
Their formation immediately fell into chaos, lacking any sense of unity; command was a mess, and the whole group fought solely on instinct.
But it wasn’t the Fire Mages’ fault or the surrounding apprentice spectators for being shocked. Facing the Nun of Atonement as such a ruthless enemy every day and witnessing such duels definitely didn’t do anyone’s nerves any favors.
“Clang!”
Even Samimi herself was extremely confused, not understanding what had happened.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Haven’t you ever seen my [Mirror Magic] before?”
A familiar, reliable, and cool voice rang out behind her, instantly boosting Samimi’s courage to two hundred percent.
But when Samimi and Rebecca turned around, they were so frightened their legs nearly gave out.
Because a white giant spider appeared right behind them, its presence terrifying enough to make them jump.
However, looking closely, the smooth white exoskeleton of the insect was somewhat striking—eight strong and powerful spider legs, its body free of dense hair, not too disgusting, perfectly fitting Samimi’s taste in monsters.
Rebecca was already too scared to move, clutching Samimi’s black silk-clad leg tightly just to feel a bit more secure.
On top of the white giant spider’s head stood none other than our beloved Head Resident, Brayetta.
And on the white giant spider’s massive backside sat the perpetually sleepy girl, Arisa, who was still dozing off.
“Head Resident, you’re here!” Samimi cheered.
“You sure know how to stir things up, forcing us to step in,” Brayetta said with a helpless shake of her head and a bitter smile.
“Let me make it clear first—winning this won’t get us back to the Moon of Darkness Hall,” Samimi said with a smile. “No bets, just pure grudges.”
“That’s right. If there were bets involved, we wouldn’t have come. This time there are no restrictions; our Heretical Magicians are free to intervene,” Brayetta said, spreading her hands and grinning defiantly.
“Is this the White Spider’s magic, or is it really her? Isn’t she human?” Samimi asked.
“This is White Cicada’s magic. She is human, and this is her special magic: [Shapeshifting Magic]. She materializes her magical power into flesh, strengthening her own strength, and finally transforms into a monster,” Brayetta explained.
“Is that really magic? Definitely heretical enough,” Samimi muttered with a hint of disdain.
While they were talking, the third wave of large fireball attacks from the Fire Mage group came crashing in.
But no matter how many fireballs were thrown, Brayetta’s Mirror Magic, which could negate ninety-nine percent of magical power, remained unbroken.
Brayetta’s expression gradually grew serious, her tone cold and calm as she said, “Leave this to us. We’ll cover you while you charge in.”
“Isn’t your Mirror Magic supposed to be non-offensive?” Samimi’s face grew serious as well.
“You don’t need to worry about that. Now go settle your grudges,” Brayetta said as she turned around, patting Arisa’s cheek and whispering in her ear, “Get moving! It’s time to show these mediocre magicians the Meaning of the Dark Moon.”
Hearing the words “get moving,” sleepy Arisa reluctantly opened her eyes but immediately closed them again the next moment.
“Bzzzz~ Boom boom~ Boom boom~”
A powerful blue magical energy surged out from her, shooting up into the sky toward the bright blue heavens.
In an instant, the deep blue completely covered the Magic Academy’s sky, hanging a faintly glowing full moon high above, looming over the Flame Apprentice Grand Castle. Everything beneath it appeared so small.
This time, some apprentices were scared to the point of fainting, and everyone needed a moment to recover.
Even Halid, Child of Rock, looked pale and shocked, unable to believe what he saw.
“Haha! Who would have thought besides me and him, there’d be a third person who could reach this realm!”
From atop the distant teaching castle, Sherry William, wrapped in wild wind, flew into midair and looked up at the magical moon in the sky, laughing heartily.
“What is that?” Samimi also looked up in surprise, asking.
“That’s [With Moon Magic],” Brayetta explained. “It’s Arisa’s [Domain: Moonfall].”
Upon hearing the word “Domain,” Samimi’s heart jolted, recalling many unpleasant memories.
“What does Domain mean?” Although she roughly understood, she still asked.
“It’s magic that alters the environment. Its actual effect is to allow the magician’s [Chant Acceleration] and [Spell Connection Delay Reduction to zero], achieving [Unlimited Casting]. But more precisely, a magician can only be said to have a Domain after mastering those two points. I don’t understand Domain well myself, so it’s hard to explain clearly. It’s more of a feeling than an official type of spell,” Brayetta introduced.
“Sounds backwards… huh?” Samimi tilted her head, confused.
Because she could also do chant acceleration and spell connection delay reduction, did that mean she also understood Domain magic?
It seemed that what she lacked to activate a Domain was just an “environmental special effect.”
If those three points defined a Domain, then Sherry William could definitely activate hers. That pale green-haired girl was actually the most secretive of all—she definitely didn’t show her full strength in the last battle.
Alright, now that she knew what Domain was, it wasn’t some incomprehensible concept. She could study and try activating one herself in the future.
She was only missing the environmental special effect to reach Domain magic.
But Samimi felt like one more phrase was needed to make it feel right—only magic Domains could counter other magic Domains.
“Let me show you the strongest force of the Moon of Darkness Hall,” Brayetta said with a smile.
While they spoke, her Mirror Magic already blocked the third wave of large fireballs from the Fire Mage group.
At the same time, the Moon of Darkness Hall’s counterattack began.
In the night sky, the eerie dark moon seemed to blink a few times like a shooting star.
Looking closer, those were actually falling deep blue half-moon magical shockwaves, slowly rotating like rows of sharp blades.
They descended onto the ground right in front of the Flame Apprentice Grand Castle’s main gate.
“Defend! Everyone, defend!” The Hong Lion shouted loudly, but he himself turned and ran inside the castle.
The deep blue half-moons fell to the ground without any explosion sounds.
They only created twisting shockwaves in the air, easily shattering all the flame shields.
When everything quieted down, over thirty advanced Fire Mage apprentices lay sprawled on the ground. Everyone had suffered magical backlash and was knocked unconscious—but only lightly injured.
It’s easy to kill someone, but it takes true skill to knock someone out without causing harm.
This actually showed the strength of sleepy Arisa’s magic Domain.
There’s no need to describe the crowd’s reaction; those who understand know exactly what this means.
“Wow, instant kill,”
Samimi’s eyes widened, her breath caught as she held tightly.
