Inside the Academy’s Research Room, Suna sat awkwardly across from Truth, unsure of how to start the conversation.
Reg and Mailun had been taken away by several teachers at the Academy’s entrance for disrupting the Academy’s atmosphere.
They were probably in for a long lecture, but that didn’t concern them now.
For Suna, the priority was to figure out how to face Truth.
“Truth, I’ve already advanced to Second-Tier!”
Suna threw out the topic first. Truth clapped her small hands enthusiastically.
“Really? That’s wonderful!”
Then silence fell between them again, and Suna felt a twinge of awkwardness. Might as well get to the point.
“Well… Suna still finds it a bit hard to say this.”
“If one day I leave Deya City, will you be sad?”
Although every encounter with Truth tended to bring some misfortune, Suna knew it was always that demon’s doing.
As long as the demon disappeared, Truth would be the perfect little companion!
A companion she could tease as much as she liked. Heh.
But unfortunately, the demon wasn’t going to let Truth and herself go that easily.
The pet contract was still in effect, after all. So this time, Suna had two reasons for approaching Truth.
First, to see how Truth would react if she knew Suna planned to leave Deya City. Second, to test if the demon would just let her go so easily.
“Sad? Why would I be sad? If I miss you, I can just come find you.” Truth swung her legs back and forth in reply.
Uh, such a pure answer… Truth was still very much the same Truth.
But come find me?
You’re just a First-Tier little priest, barely able to leave Deya City, let alone cross half of Sylvia to reach Snowveil City.
You’d probably get waylaid by some adventurer right after setting off.
Thinking it over, Suna decided to tell Truth everything about the Royal Magic Academy and her own thoughts. Truth nodded repeatedly.
“Mmm, you really have ambition! That’s awesome. I support you unconditionally!”
“Really?!”
The frown on Suna’s face gradually eased. Great— Truth wasn’t sad at all, probably because she had no idea how far Snowveil City actually was…
So Suna cautiously reminded her of the distance, but Truth remained cheerfully oblivious:
“When I come find you, don’t flip out and refuse to recognize me! Or I’ll tell Hermit on you! As a player, high-efficiency map running is an essential skill.”
Truth had already prepared, planning to keep leveling up to unlock the Mist’s teleport function, and hatch the Dragon Egg of the Illusory Realm so she’d have a mount to fly around on.
By the way, why were Tia’s little followers so slow? She hadn’t received any news yet.
Hermit… that must be the name of the Mist demon, right? Why isn’t Truth calling it “my lord” anymore?
After a moment of silence, Suna quietly asked:
“Does Hermit… Hermit know about me wanting to leave Deya City?”
“I can ask.” Truth closed her eyes and clasped her hands.
But just as she was about to raise her index finger, Suna suddenly leapt forward, interrupting the spell and pinning Truth beneath her:
“No! Actually, with Hermit’s power, it probably already knows my thoughts. Since it hasn’t said anything, that means it agrees. We better not disturb it!”
Heh, quick reflexes. Truth’s pink eyes looked at Suna innocently.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps sounded outside the door. Suna jumped up in alarm. She’d already realized that being with Truth usually led to misunderstandings.
So she had to be prepared for whatever came next!
“Suna, I have urgent news for you!”
The visitor was Earl Suho, standing outside and waving anxiously for Suna to come out. She hurriedly stepped outside, while Truth perked up her ears and listened from behind the wall.
“This is bad. The assessment officers in charge of admissions rushed here overnight all the way from the Wangdu. They’ve already started enrollment at the Academy’s square!”
“That’s so fast!”
Suna was shocked. They only received the notice yesterday, yet the officers were already here today to recruit students. Why the rush? Not even any advertising?
“But isn’t this a bit too tense…”
Seeing her father’s anxious expression, Suna was a bit speechless. She could just sign up now.
“Of course it’s tense! Those officers from Wangdu look down on the pitiful scraps I’m offering. Just one of the magic items they have is worth half my life!”
“Ah, I see…”
So her attempt to buy influence had failed. Although she hadn’t really expected it to work, Suna started feeling nervous and decided to check out the enrollment situation at the square.
So Truth was left alone in the Research Room.
At the Academy square, thousands of students crowded around the registration desk, carefully studying the assessment content.
Suna tiptoed and squeezed her way in, her eyes widening in shock.
“This is way too difficult!”
……
Five minutes later, Tia returned to Earl Suho’s side looking dejected.
“There’s no hope. Several of the books on the written exam are ones I’ve never even heard of. Looks like after graduating, I’ll just try to get into the Intermediate Academy in Shouwang City instead…”
Seeing his daughter’s disappointed expression, Earl Suho didn’t know how to comfort her:
“Actually, living a stable life isn’t so bad either.”
True enough… As a noble of the Suho Family, Suna’s life was already far beyond most others. She could live peacefully and happily in Deya City.
But her father seemed to have forgotten that peace was impossible now—after all, she had signed a contract with some lecherous demon…
Still, she had dreams!
Suna wanted to become a great mage who could move mountains with a wave of her hand. She wanted to explore the mysteries of history’s long river.
Most of all, she wanted to break free from the demon’s control and give both herself and Truth freedom!
That opportunity was now in front of her, but she couldn’t grasp it.
“Sigh, I’ll think of another plan.” Earl Suho sighed and left the Academy, leaving Suna alone lost in thought.
Actually, there was one more option…
Five minutes later, Suna hurried back to the Research Room and faced Truth again, resolute.
“Please let me talk with Hermit!”
Determined to seize this once-in-a-lifetime chance, Suna was decisive.
Rather than being toyed with by the demon until death in Deya City, she’d rather use the demon to her advantage, giving herself a chance to go to the Royal Magic Academy and find a way to escape the demon’s control!
Suna was sure they could help her there!
Truth said nothing and immediately closed her eyes, clasping her hands. This time, Suna did not stop her.
When Truth opened her eyes again, those blood-red irises sent chills down Suna’s spine.
Don’t panic, don’t panic…
“Little dog, next time you visit me, be sure to kneel properly!”
Truth slouched casually in her chair, crossing her legs. At the same time, with ruthless strength, she pressed Suna’s head down bit by bit until Suna was forced to kneel on the floor.
“Y-yes… master…”
After uttering the words with some bitterness, Suna trembled as she voiced her request—to go study at the Royal Magic Academy.
Truth looked somewhat puzzled. You came to me just for this?
I’ve already unlocked the Ancient Elves talent for highest elemental affinity in you, you know? Any decent academy would be fighting over you!
Seems like the little dog isn’t paying close enough attention to her own talents. Let me give you a little confidence boost:
“Piece of cake.”
In her demon form, Truth stroked Suna’s hair disdainfully, which oddly gave Suna a sense of security. Then Truth smirked and added:
“So, little dog, how will you repay your master?”
Here it comes!
Suna had already expected the demon to make unreasonable demands, so she was mentally prepared.
“I know what to do…”
Leaning forward slightly and arching her hips, Suna slowly slid her hands beneath her skirt. The faint sound of fabric rubbing against skin echoed as a pale blue pair of panties appeared on her thigh.
Not daring to stand, Suna sat with her legs in front of her so the skirt could cover her last shred of dignity as she carefully removed the panties…
“Is this… enough?”
Though prepared mentally, she couldn’t help trembling all over and nearly shedding tears from embarrassment.
But it was worth it!
“Not enough.” Truth said coldly.
“What?”
Truth hadn’t expected Suna to comply so readily this time. She only wanted her to bark a couple of times.
But since Suna liked doing this, she’d go along with it.
Ignoring Suna’s helpless look, Truth casually tossed the panties aside and gently lifted her chin:
“As a little dog, you should bark, right?”
“You…”
Suna wanted to shout, “Don’t push your luck!” but the difference in their status made her keep silent, silently cursing the demon in her heart.
“So pathetic…”
Bark like a dog? How humiliating, how shameful! Tears welled up in Suna’s reddened eyes. After all, she was the prestigious heiress of the Suho Family in Deya City!
But if she didn’t do it, wouldn’t all her effort be for nothing?
Quick, think of your future, of the achievements you might gain, and of the day you’ll have this demon under your feet, setting both yourself and Truth free…
I have to do this!
Driven by resolve, Suna trembled as she parted her lips slightly, showing a pink tongue, then closed her eyes and softly, reluctantly whispered:
“Woof…”
Ugh, Kurusi…
“Tsk tsk tsk, didn’t eat breakfast? Whose little dog barks so quietly? Louder!”
Truth kept rubbing Suna’s black hair, while Suna shot a glare tinged with anger, quickly closing her eyes and gritting her teeth:
“Woof!”
“Just once?”
“Woof! Woof! Woof woof woof!”
Suna went all out, tears falling helplessly onto the floor. Damn you, demon! I’ll make you pay back double someday!
“Wow!”
Truth’s eyes lit up as she pulled her little dog into her arms, stroking her slowly with a smile stretching to the corners of her mouth.
Every bark from Suna brought Truth immense joy. How wonderful! As a master, I’ll take good care of you and never let anyone cause you the slightest grievance!
Except me, heh heh.
After all, I do love seeing pretty girls make these helpless yet indignant faces. It’s just too adorable!
