Chapter 53: Do Something More Romantic

Wendy yanked Astreia and rushed back to the room.

He already had a plan in mind.

As long as he let the First Princess see that letter, all misunderstandings would vanish like smoke.

Astreia’s Demonization should also be alleviated to some extent.

However, when his gaze landed on the candlestick, he froze.

Beneath the candlestick, it was completely empty.

“What’s going on? Where’s that letter you were going to show me?”

“The letter… Maybe the wind was too strong and blew it to the floor!”

He immediately bent down, lifted the carpet, and began searching the room frantically.

He opened every drawer, rummaged through the wardrobe, and even yanked off the pillowcases and gave them a shake.

The whole room was turned upside down.

But the Farewell Letter seemed to have vanished into thin air—no matter how hard he looked, he couldn’t find it.

Minute by minute, time ticked away.

Wendy’s forehead was beaded with sweat.

But behind him, that gaze grew more and more intense, the pressure mounting.

Suddenly.

Astreia seemed to think of something.

“You, go stand guard at the door. Don’t let anyone approach.”

Astreia shot Cara a meaningful glance.

“Yes, Your Highness!”

Without hesitation, Cara turned and left the room.

“Clang!”

After the crisp sound of metal, the door was locked from the outside.

Damn!

At that sound, Wendy’s heart seized up, and his whole body stiffened on the spot.

He slowly turned around, and came face-to-face with that half-smiling, half-menacing expression.

The aura surrounding Astreia was no longer simply brutal; now, it carried the teasing, predatory amusement of a cat toying with a mouse.

“My Prince~”

The Witch’s voice was syrupy sweet, yet made his scalp tingle.

“This letter you spoke of…?”

“Can’t find it, can you?”

“Gulp.”

Wendy swallowed hard, his shirt clinging damply to his back.

He knew this look all too well.

After last night’s “thorough communication,” he could instantly tell—Astreia was on the verge of a full-blown eruption.

Trying to explain the missing letter now, or offering any excuse, would only be adding fuel to the fire.

What should he do?

He absolutely didn’t want to be forced into making those… humiliating sounds again!

“What are you dawdling for?!”

The Witch stepped closer, her sweet scent washing over him.

Near her neck, the tear-like Dark Purple Demon Mark glowed even redder, almost as if it had come alive.

Wendy’s legs were so weak, he could barely stand.

His purpose in bringing her here was to calm her down, to weaken the Demonization.

The letter was only a tool—the real goal was what mattered!

If reason wouldn’t work, then he’d just have to “communicate” by another, more direct and primitive method!

With this thought, Wendy forcibly suppressed his fear, and squeezed out a twisted smile.

“Astreia, actually…”

“Actually, I’ve come up with a new position I’d like to try with you. Would you help me out?”

“Oh?”

The Witch stopped, tilting her head in obvious interest.

The next moment, her figure rapidly filled the Prince’s vision.

Two palms lifted Wendy by the waist and abruptly hoisted him up, pressing his entire body against that powerful, muscular chest.

“Thud!”

Warm, soft, springy, resilient.

The weak, pitiful, and helpless Prince trembled all over, but didn’t dare make a sound.

The Witch laughed unrestrained, her cheek slowly brushing his ear.

“So you really did want to… right~”

Her breath was fragrant and seductive to the core.

Wendy almost lost all strength in his lower back, nearly sliding from Astreia’s arms.

But this fire had been ignited by his own hand.

In the distance, the half-collapsed Sunset Mountain stood out, sunlight casting a unique, violent silhouette.

A strange sense of accomplishment suddenly surged in Wendy’s heart.

Moving mountains and overturning seas, destroying heaven and earth.

Such things had existed only in myths in his previous life, yet he’d managed to accomplish it just by moving his lips.

“So, you want to do it… here, hmm?”

Astreia’s voice came from behind him, one hand pinching his cheek, her fingertips gently caressing.

The “danger” in that gesture was unmistakable.

Wendy held the Witch’s misbehaving hand, shaking his head.

Taking the opportunity, he slipped behind Astreia, wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his chin in the hollow of her shoulder, breathing in the fragrance of her hair.

“Don’t you think…”

His voice was low, almost hypnotic.

“In the midst of such magnificent scenery, with your thousands of Soldiers looking on…”

“Doing something that belongs to just the two of us…”

“Would be more romantic, more thrilling?”

He could feel the tense body in his embrace suddenly relax.

She fell silent.

It seemed she was savoring his words.

The Prince was laid out facing in, his back suspended over empty space, lying flat on the cold stone.

One slip, and he’d plunge a dozen meters onto the Calisthenics Ground below!

Wendy was scared out of his wits, clinging to Astreia’s neck for dear life, not daring to loosen his grip even a little.

But the Witch only gazed at his panic-stricken face with infatuation.

She stretched out her tongue, gently licking her lips.

The madness in her eyes was now utterly unconcealed.

“If we’re going to play, let’s play big.”

“Let’s give our loyal Soldiers a magnificent gift…”
