Chapter 8: Vyea’s Far-Sighted Insight

Vyea had no idea what kind of grand performance this tearful, wronged-looking cat-eared girl was putting on.

Nor did she understand why her one and only former apprentice would appear here, unrecognizable at the moment.

All she knew was this:

She had just moved into a new home, and someone was already lurking outside her door.

Not good, very not good.

Could it really be!

“I’m not a stray cat!”

Herkate felt insulted and snapped, “Also, why aren’t you pouring me any tea?”

“Creatures like cats are notoriously hard to domesticate, and their intelligence isn’t high enough. Better to send them away sooner rather than later.”

Lania answered while pulling Herkate’s scattered attention back and giving Vyea a somewhat surprised look:

“Miss, you’ve been to the Academic Tower too?”

“Of course,” Vyea smiled brightly as she led the conversation.

The cat girl, seeing her smile for the first time, was stunned. So your so-called poker face really was just to fool me!

Seeing the young Brave’s eyes grow slightly distant, Vyea changed the topic:

“The Human Race has a limited quota for official Braves. Once that quota is exceeded, Blessings will no longer descend, and no new Braves will appear.”

In Vyea’s memory, when she was active as a Brave, all eighteen slots were already taken.

Among humans, there was no shortage of these passionate, determined souls.

Lania stood up promptly, apologizing softly to the white-haired little girl sitting quietly opposite them while putting down the steaming hot tea:

“Sorry, things have been a bit restless in the city lately. I have to leave. Please be careful and don’t go out easily at night.”

Without even two seconds passing, she hurried back and solemnly asked the white-haired girl again:

“I really enjoyed talking with you. Can I come again next time?”
