“Ahhhhhhh!!!”
A shrill scream tore through the entire Manor, echoing from the utterly ruined gate where Bai lay powerless, staring at Yalbera just a step away. The terror in her heart nearly made her faint again and again. She so desperately wished this was just a dream, a nightmare from which she was about to awaken.
But Yalbera’s cold hand, gently caressing her cheek, forced her to confront a cruel reality.
“Finally, you belong to me again. Yes, that’s the expression I want—let go of all your worries, abandon all hope, give your body and soul to me completely, surrender yourself to pleasure. You don’t need to think about anything, don’t need to consider anything. All you have to do is—enjoy.”
Bai could no longer speak. She just lay there, devoid of the will to live, her gaze entirely overtaken by despair.
She’d been completely broken.
Yalbera smiled, kissing her once more.
Just as she was about to unleash her ugly desires, a warm tear fell onto her face.
She froze.
This was… a tear?
Lian was crying?
Why?
Why would she cry?
Wasn’t being together with her good? She had, after all, waited and longed for this for nearly a thousand years.
Why, why…
When was the last time Lian had cried…
Suddenly, Lian’s face before her death flashed through her mind.
Yes, that was the last time—she would never forget that tear falling onto her hand.
“Master, are you going to keep hurting Lian?”
All of a sudden, a familiar voice came from beside her.
Yalbera turned her head and saw Lian’s figure standing quietly by her side, silently watching her.
“No! It’s not like that, I just don’t want you to leave me again… I just missed you so much,” Yalbera said anxiously.
“Then why are you hurting her? Lian (Bai) is in utter despair right now, Master.”
“Sigh…”
Lian walked toward Yalbera, knelt down, and gently pressed her forehead to hers.
“I beg you, please wake up… This isn’t how Master is supposed to be.”
It was as if the sound of a water droplet echoed in her mind, and the light in Yalbera’s eyes returned…
She looked around.
The room was a mess, books scattered everywhere on the floor, and Bai lay there, utterly lifeless.
“What have I done…”
She clutched her forehead, brows tightly furrowed.
Was this disaster all her doing? Everything that had just happened felt so unfamiliar to Yalbera.
It was as if she had been replaced by someone else—her actions, her thoughts, even her soul had changed, becoming a more frenzied, terrifying Yalbera, one whose mind was filled only with Lian.
She reached out, wanting to heal Bai’s injuries, but the moment Bai saw Yalbera’s movement, terror and despair flooded her eyes, as if she were staring at a monster about to devour her.
It seemed she’d already gone completely mad.
With a wave of her hand, darkness suddenly swallowed Bai’s vision, plunging her into a deep sleep.
She collapsed to the floor. Watching her, Yalbera was filled with doubt.
Ever since Bai arrived here, her mental state had grown increasingly bizarre.
She often saw Lian at her side, just like before, just like a thousand years ago.
Her longing and yearning had only grown stronger.
Was it just her imagination, or had she seen Lian’s figure in Bai more than once?
And this time, it had erupted completely.
She’d actually done something so ugly and mad—ten minutes, a full ten minutes, where her mind and thoughts were wholly consumed by filthy desires, casting aside all restraint and elegance, abandoning all pride and nobility.
Completely, she’d surrendered to pleasure, using Bai to satisfy herself…
Remembering all that madness, Yalbera now actually felt… excited?
As if she’d secretly longed to do this for a very long time.
She looked at Bai again, falling into a long silence.
“Have a good sleep, little one. When you wake up again, you’ll forget all of this…”
Her voice drifted through the dim room.
She needed… some peace…
***
Bai opened her eyes and stretched with a big yawn, then smacked her lips twice.
“Feels like I slept for ages.”
She looked out the window at the moon. Right now, it was the Morning Hours.
What day was it again?
Oh, right, the second day. She’d planned to tidy up the Garden today.
She got out of bed, and while getting dressed, a book on the table caught her eye.
Curious, she picked it up.
“How strange, does Bai own this book?”
Bai scratched her head. It was a Magic Book—when did she ever think about learning magic?
Her little brain spun for a while, but she couldn’t recall. Maybe she just put it there while tidying up.
Thinking so, Bai perked up again.
The most important thing right now was to quickly get the Garden in order.
If she finished early, maybe she could return to the human world sooner!
When she arrived at the Garden, Bai was completely stunned.
A mess, a total mess!
The ground was littered with broken stones and weeds everywhere, and even shattered statues had somehow toppled all over the place, as if a wild storm had swept through and left this chaos behind.
But a Vampire’s own domain shouldn’t suddenly have wind, right?
And what kind of wind could send rocks flying?
Bai swallowed hard.
Could it be that wicked woman made this mess out of boredom?
“How long will it take to clean all this up…”
Bai sighed to herself.
Just the stones alone—her small body couldn’t possibly move them.
“What should I do… If only I had Lady Aiersha’s or Yalbera’s magic, then clearing these rocks would be a breeze.”
She thought for two seconds, then clapped her hands and declared decisively.
“Alright, then I’ll learn magic! After all, there’s a Magic Book in Bai’s room. Maybe this is the goddess’s will!”
***
Two hours later.
“『Ας πάρουμε το τέλος!』 (Wind Magic!)”
A hurricane whipped up sand and dust, blasting it outside.
Bai looked out the window—the already messy courtyard was now even more chaotic.
“Magic is actually pretty easy. Bai learned it right away,” she said with a smile.
Striking while the iron was hot, her confidence swelling, she flipped through the book again in search of the next spell she needed, and soon stopped at Gravity Deprivation.
After a quick read-through, Bai raised her palm toward the stool beside her.
“『Βαρυτική στέρηση!』”
…Nothing happened.
“Ah-le?” Bai scratched her head.
The Wind Magic had worked instantly—why not this one?
She tried a few more times in different poses, but it was useless.
Frustrated, she scratched her head and ears.
Did she mispronounce a word?
But Aiersha wasn’t here anymore—there was no one left to teach her to read!
Go ask Master?
No, no, no, she’d suck Bai dry!
But other than Master, there didn’t seem to be anyone else who could teach her.
“Ugh…”
After a long inner struggle, Bai finally decided to ask Yalbera.
Maybe that wicked woman would knock her out with a bite again, but if she could master Gravity Deprivation, it would save her so much trouble in the future.
Even if she had to pay with blood for knowledge, it was still a good deal!
With that thought, Bai mustered her courage, grabbed the book, and was about to head out—then suddenly stopped.
She’d taken the Magic Book from the study without permission.
Would Master blame her?
Maybe she should leave a note.
She turned to find a piece of paper and copied down the spell, then as she turned, her left foot tripped over her right and she fell headfirst to the floor.
The note in her hand went flying.
Rubbing her sore head, Bai quickly looked up and saw the note drifting under the bed.
She reached under to grab it—and pulled out…
Two identical notes?
