Su Luo finished speaking, took the Spray, and then said, “I’ll probably be staying in this Village for a few days. Please help me find a place to stay.”
The Village Chief readily agreed and led Su Luo to the backyard of the Village Chief’s House.
The backyard was huge, with many vacant rooms inside.
After arranging a room for Su Luo, the Village Chief received her thanks as Su Luo gave her a deep bow.
But just as she straightened up, Su Luo suddenly sprayed the Spray right into the Village Chief’s face…
The Village Chief was caught off guard and took the Spray full on her face.
She clutched her face in pain, letting out muffled whimpers with indistinguishable syllables.
Her figure began to swell, gray fur sprouting from her body, and her muscles bulged, tearing through her clothes.
The whole transformation took less than ten seconds, and the Village Chief had turned into a textbook Werewolf.
While the Village Chief was transforming, Su Luo struck her once and the damage was -17.
Su Luo knew that her regular attack should deal -16, but this time it was more.
To test her theory, Su Luo deliberately waited until the Village Chief finished transforming before using her first skill, and as expected, the attack reverted to -16.
‘OK, it seemed that during the transformation, it was their vulnerable period.’
Su Luo thought about this, but her hands didn’t stop.
She quickly distanced herself from the Village Chief and kited her around the yard using her first skill.
The Werewolf was still pretty fast, but every time it got hit, it would feel the pain and involuntarily slow down.
As for Su Luo, because she had been an orphan since childhood, running away was a compulsory lesson when she was weak.
So not only did Su Luo run fast, but she always turned at just the right moment, making the Werewolf pounce at nothing.
Throughout the whole process, the Werewolf didn’t even touch the corner of Su Luo’s clothes.
Su Luo ran circles around the Werewolf in the backyard, finally exhausting it.
When the Werewolf’s HP was depleted, it turned into motes of light and disappeared.
Only then did Su Luo sit down on the ground, panting heavily.
It was obvious that after beastification, the original intelligence dropped to that of a wild animal, which was why she had it so easy.
Su Luo stared in a daze at the spot where the Village Chief had disappeared.
When this person met her, there was no joy in her eyes—instead, there was a hint of something else.
When she spoke of the Witch, she didn’t use respectful words.
For example, she said “dead” instead of “passed away.”
Such behavior was totally unlike someone who truly respected the Witch.
More importantly, Su Luo had to ask for many key pieces of information before the Village Chief would answer.
Su Luo didn’t think it was because the Village Chief forgot; it seemed more like she was deliberately withholding information.
But because of the system’s mandatory requirements, they could only exploit loopholes—if the player didn’t ask, they wouldn’t say; only when asked would they be forced to tell the player.
That’s why Su Luo boldly guessed—the Village Chief was a Werewolf!
So she put on that show, catching the Village Chief off guard with the Spray.
Judging by the result, her guess was confirmed.
The Village Chief really did turn into a Werewolf.
But if even the head of the Village had become a Werewolf, then the situation in this Village was even worse than she’d imagined!
A heavy feeling settled in Su Luo’s heart; perhaps the Witch’s death was also caused by the Werewolves.
She stood up, patted the dust off her backside, took seven of the ten Spray Bottles, and returned to the room the Village Chief had arranged for her.
The final use of these eight Spray Bottles would depend on the situation going forward.
If she took them all, it would only arouse suspicion.
If those players behaved themselves, she wouldn’t mind giving them a little more.
But if they were troublesome, she’d just tell them there were five in total, and she’d already used one.
Now that the situation had changed, she needed to reassess things.
Su Luo once again opened the Dungeon panel:
[Dungeon: Real Werewolf (Solo)]
[Mission: Your team must win]
[Rules:]
[1. Good side must report Werewolves during the day; Werewolves must kill the good side at night. If all Villagers or Gods are dead, Werewolves win. If all Werewolves are dead, the good side wins. If the good side wins, all dead good side members are resurrected, and all Werewolves die and fail, and vice versa.]
[2. Eliminating a Werewolf: +5 points]
[Eliminating a Villager: -10 points]
[Background: You were tourists camping outside the Forest to play Werewolf, but accidentally discovered a Village deep in the Forest constantly threatened by Werewolves. Now, the Werewolves have already infiltrated the Village…]
[PS: Players who have not yet arrived at the Dungeon site must arrive before noon today, or they will be forcibly expelled from the Dungeon as a failed death.]
It was clear that there were still three sides in the game: Villagers, Werewolves, and Gods.
The only known God so far was the already-dead Witch.
The Village Chief said they were God’s Envoys, so Su Luo guessed they were also Gods.
Then there were the Villagers and Werewolves in the Village.
Judging by what the Village Chief said, the Werewolves didn’t actually know who their own kind were, nor how many Werewolves were in the Village.
Moreover, Su Luo keenly realized that the Werewolves must not be allowed to know who their own kind were, because the Village Chief had said, “If we knew, it’d be easy.”
That sentence was missing a subject—what would be easy?
Su Luo thought it likely meant that taking over the Village would be easy.
According to the rules of Werewolf, once the number of Werewolves exceeds the combined number of Gods and Villagers, the Werewolves will launch a counterattack and start kidnapping directly.
By then, it would be impossible for them to quietly wipe out the Werewolves.
It would turn into a hard battle.
So they couldn’t let the Werewolves know who the other Werewolves were.
Earlier, the Village Chief said a Werewolf had stolen the treasure left by the God to protect the Village.
Su Luo guessed that this treasure must be a powerful item and would need to focus on finding it later.
Unfortunately, she had no idea what the treasure looked like.
After sorting out her thoughts, Su Luo wandered around the Village.
This Village had twelve households, but not just twelve people.
Some families even had five members, which made things much harder for her.
Su Luo found that most Werewolves were easy to spot—you could tell by the way they looked at her, the God’s Envoy.
The only troublesome part was making sure no other Villagers saw her use her skills against the Werewolves.
Su Luo picked a target, walked up to him under everyone’s gaze, and said, “The Village Chief wants to see you.”
The man looked displeased and asked, “The Village Chief wants me? What for?”
Su Luo almost laughed.
He glared at the God’s Envoy who came to save him, and showed no respect to the Village Chief at all.
Was he afraid others wouldn’t know he was a Werewolf?
Su Luo pretended not to notice anything and replied innocently, “I don’t know either, I just got here.”
The Villager nodded and said, “Fine, I’ll go check.”
Su Luo said, “Actually, I have something else to ask too. Let’s go together.”
The Villager frowned, but in the end didn’t refuse, and walked with Su Luo toward the Village Chief’s House.
Once there, Su Luo deliberately lagged a step behind.
After the man entered the house, she closed the door behind them.
The man still hadn’t realized something was wrong and impatiently asked, “Where’s the Village Chief?”
Then he turned around and asked, “You…”
Su Luo seized the moment—just as the man turned, she whipped out the Spray from her pocket and quickly sprayed it in his face.
Sure enough, the man immediately clutched his face, glaring at her fiercely.
Su Luo didn’t care how vicious his look was; she activated her skill while the man was still transforming, punching and kicking the Werewolf as he changed.
When the time was right, Su Luo repeated her earlier tactic and put some distance between them.
Unexpectedly, this Villager-turned-Werewolf was much stronger than the Village Chief.
Although the HP hadn’t changed, his speed was much faster than the previous one.
Su Luo was caught off guard and was pounced on, knocked to the ground.
With one swipe, the Werewolf took off 5 HP.
But Su Luo, who had experienced countless battles, used her small frame to slip out from under the Werewolf, quickly escaping and using her skill on the man again.
A Werewolf had 100 HP.
Su Luo’s punches and kicks during his transformation had reduced it to 70.
After two more skills, he had 36 left.
Energized, Su Luo fired off two more skills and then charged up to finish off the Werewolf, who was down to 4 HP.
In truth, defeating a Werewolf wasn’t that hard, unless it attracted other Werewolves, which would be troublesome.
And this Dungeon was all about attrition—if you got hurt by a Werewolf, you’d have to use Red Potion to heal, especially since time was tight.
Su Luo had already counted; there were about 38 people in the Village.
She’d already figured out that if the number of Werewolves exceeded the combined number of Villagers and Gods—and the Werewolves found out—then they’d start kidnapping.
Given the system’s usual tricks, Su Luo suspected that most of the Village’s people were already Werewolves.
After all this, it was already one in the afternoon.
Su Luo casually grabbed some ingredients and made herself lunch, then watched the time as she headed to the village entrance to wait for the other players.
Sure enough, around three o’clock, the other players arrived at the Village.
Number Six spotted Su Luo and called out in delight, “We made it!”
Su Luo nodded to her.
The other players appeared one after another before Su Luo.
Number Seven, face dark, asked, “Why didn’t you remind us? Came here on your own? Are you planning to hog the quest rewards for yourself?”
Su Luo almost laughed out loud at this shameless accusation—who gave him the illusion that he could control her?
He Yu, heard Number Seven’s ungrateful words and angrily scolded him, “If it weren’t for Su Luo, you wouldn’t even know about this quest! We’d have wasted a whole day in that stupid game, and the quest would be lost for sure. How do you have the nerve to blame her?”
Number Eleven echoed, “Yeah, she was being nice to tell you. She didn’t have to. What, did you expect her to find this Village and then go back to fetch you? If you can’t even be grateful, at least stop talking nonsense. If you’ve got the guts, go find the Village on your own!”
Number Eleven was clearly infuriated by Number Seven’s shamelessness, and retorted with a slightly red face.
