Noticing that Jinluan was spacing out.
Yin Lin reminded her again, “Go on, what are you doing?”
Only then did Jinluan snap back to her senses.
She increased the output of the Illumination Spell and flew a little closer toward the center of the barrier.
Yin Lin followed nearby, providing cover, already prepared to fire her magic cannon at any moment.
A little over ten seconds later, the preliminary investigation results came in.
The diameter of the barrier was probably around 120 meters, and all three of them, along with the Advanced Demonic Creature, were trapped inside.
Huan Hong had been trying to attack the purple barrier for quite a while, but couldn’t break through. Not even the slightest ripple appeared—the strength of that purple barrier was beyond description.
For now, they couldn’t sense any other demonic creatures, nor did they find any officer-level ones.
But thinking of the semi-transparent film that had hidden its presence earlier, if Lightning Man wanted to hide here, it wouldn’t be difficult at all.
Yin Lin looked at Diamond and asked, “So, did your master say anything about how to deal with this situation?”
She still trusted the Contract Goddess.
Coincidentally, Diamond also trusted the Contract Goddess very much.
“Lady Goddess believes you have a way to solve this problem.” That’s what Diamond said.
What a load of crap.
If you asked Yin Lin how to solve this, she’d only have one answer: shoot!
She was still holding a magic cannon charged up to 80%.
She really wanted to keep charging, but if she did, a 100% powered magic cannon would wipe everyone out.
This barrier was only 120 meters in diameter—everyone inside would die.
Diamond was also giving orders: “Yin, quickly cancel the charge.”
Yin Lin: “The problem is, how do I cancel it? The arrow is already on the string.”
Diamond: “Feel it with your heart, control it with your heart.”
Damn it, what kind of abstract nonsense is this? I don’t understand.
Yin Lin wanted a concrete solution, not this kind of vague stuff.
At that moment, there was movement on the Advanced Demonic Creature’s side. She could sense that it was also gathering magic power.
In just a few seconds, it had gathered a sizable mass of magic.
Knowing full well that the opponent was an Advanced Demonic Creature skilled at long-range attacks, and being able to sense it charging up, it was clear what it was about to do.
The three of them started moving, ready to dodge.
But the Advanced Demonic Creature still didn’t fire. It kept charging, the environment for output was just too perfect.
Jinluan couldn’t stand it anymore and said, “You guys figure out a way to get out. I’ll go hold it off first.”
She dashed forward in an S-shaped path, flying toward the demonic creature.
She absolutely couldn’t let the Advanced Demonic Creature charge up so comfortably. The best way to deal with such an enemy was to finish it off before it could act.
Facing Jinluan, who was rapidly closing in, the Advanced Demonic Creature didn’t panic, and continued charging.
After all, it was an Advanced Demonic Creature. Fighting a lone magical girl was like a father disciplining his daughter. Even though it was injured, it wouldn’t lose easily.
When Jinluan was twenty meters away, she finally got a good look at the demonic creature’s condition.
It really was the Advanced Demonic Creature that had appeared on TV, bombarded by the Human Alliance for an entire day, and even hit by the Mysterious Individual’s orbital magic cannon—even if it was just a glancing blow.
Its current state was terrible: one arm was broken, there was a crack on its head, its whole body was covered in wounds, and green blood was smeared everywhere.
In human terms, this Advanced Demonic Creature’s health bar looked like it had only 40% left, plus it was afflicted with a broken limb debuff, movement speed reduction debuff, weakness debuff, and probably a dozen other Negative Status Effects.
Could it be that in this three-on-two, we actually have the advantage?!
Jinluan was overjoyed and pressed the attack.
The Advanced Demonic Creature was still underestimating Jinluan, continuing to charge up.
But suddenly, Jinluan accelerated, her figure vanishing. In the next instant, she appeared right beside the Advanced Demonic Creature, drawing her blade in a classic sword-drawing slash.
As expected, the Advanced Demonic Creature activated its shield. The slash landed on the shield, unable to break it, but it did produce some ripples.
The attack was effective! But not strong enough!
Jinluan immediately began enchanting her blade. Her arm glowed with golden light, like burning golden flames.
Both her hand and blade were shrouded in this golden fire, illuminating the surroundings even more.
Sensing the danger, the Advanced Demonic Creature finally dropped the act and fired the charged cannon blast.
It was incredibly fast, and at such close range, there was barely any room to dodge.
Jinluan tried her best to evade, but the blast still hit her shield, instantly shattering it, and then grazed her abdomen.
She didn’t have time to worry about her injuries. The Enchanted Blade struck again, and at such close range, even the Advanced Demonic Creature could hardly dodge.
This slash was dead-on, slicing a crack into the creature’s shield. It didn’t shatter completely, but a very small fissure appeared.
The blade slipped through the crack, cutting into the creature’s skin and sinking a few centimeters into its flesh.
“This shield is way weaker than hers!” Jinluan shouted, feeling quite proud.
She tried to stab deeper, but the Advanced Demonic Creature slapped her hard on the side, sending both her and her blade flying over ten meters away.
Luckily, she managed to throw up a shield in time, blocking part of the damage.
The shield broke, absorbing about 60% of the impact, but she still took about 40% of the damage.
Even though this Advanced Demonic Creature specialized in ranged attacks, that didn’t mean its close combat was weak—just that its ranged abilities were stronger.
That slap left Jinluan injured, and before she could get up, the Advanced Demonic Creature attacked again.
A short-charged cannon blast came flying at her. Jinluan rolled twice on the ground and barely dodged it.
Her arm still got grazed, and the thing exploded. The magical girl uniform provided some protection, blocking part of the direct hit, but she still took some indirect blast damage.
Her arm was bleeding, riddled with small wounds.
She scrambled to her feet as the Advanced Demonic Creature kept firing short-charged cannon blasts, averaging one shot every two seconds.
Out of ten shots, one would hit. After half a minute, Jinluan had been struck twice more, picking up a few more injuries.
Then, she raised a moderately strong magical shield again and charged at the Advanced Demonic Creature, tanked another blast, and slashed at it once more.
Again, she broke the shield and opened a crack, leaving a one-centimeter shallow cut on the creature’s neck. She couldn’t cut deeper because the creature grabbed the blade with its bare hand.
Then, with both blade and person, it slammed Jinluan hard into the ground.
This time, Jinluan recovered quickly, got up at once, and continued close-quarters combat, swinging her blade relentlessly—sacrificing power for greater speed and mobility.
She slashed four or five times per second.
The demonic creature tried to grab her in melee, but she dodged nimbly, leaping and swinging three more times, all hitting the shield and creating a dense flurry of ripples.
Cracks began to form in the shield, looking like it might collapse any second. A few more seconds of attacks and it would likely break.
In the distance, Huan Hong and Yin Lin weren’t just standing by and watching—they were busy too.
Huan Hong ramped up her output, fiercely attacking the purple barrier, trying to open a gap to escape.
Diamond was teaching Yin Lin how to cancel her charge, but Yin Lin was hopeless at this.
She had learned how to charge instantly, but couldn’t figure out how to cancel the charge.
Maybe have her discharge little by little instead ? Would be very useful right now
