Shen Ruxue walked into the Law Firm.
The entire structure of the Law Firm was very simple; the Front Desk was connected to the workspace of several employees, forming the largest area in the firm, but there was absolutely no privacy at all.
The only slightly private places in the entire Law Firm were the meeting room partitioned off inside, and Chi Yingyu’s private office at the very back of the firm.
Because there was a meeting room specially used to receive guests between the private office and the main work area, even though the soundproofing wasn’t great, none of the colleagues in the firm would ever know what happened inside the office.
When Shen Ruxue entered, she briefly stated her purpose, and was led by the Front Desk staff to the meeting room in the middle.
She was served a cup of water and told to wait for a moment.
As the Front Desk staff prepared to go to the office to inform Chi Yingyu that someone had come to see her, Shen Ruxue stopped her.
She had come here precisely to listen in on what would happen between her younger sister and that woman.
If she was interrupted, she wouldn’t be able to hear anything at all, so Shen Ruxue just said she had an appointment and had simply arrived a bit early.
Because of this, the Front Desk didn’t press further, and after a simple reception, returned to her own seat.
Shen Ruxue gazed at the closed partition door and slowly moved closer to her sister’s office on one side, pouring out the tea from the disposable paper cup.
She pressed the paper cup against the wall and put her ear to it, so she could hear every movement inside the neighboring office more clearly.
As for her sister’s current situation, Shen Ruxue had heard many rumors from outside.
The little girl who had needed her care and coaxing when they were young had now become a legend.
If not for her own decades of extra life experience, Shen Ruxue felt the title of little genius would never have fallen to her. She only relied on the seniority of her soul, while her sister was the real genius—a perfect, astonishingly talented lawyer.
But what Shen Ruxue didn’t know was that all of Chi Yingyu’s reputation as a genius and all her achievements were inseparable from Jiang Lai.
Her own husband and her sister had been entangled for more than ten years. Though they were still two individuals, in some sense, they were already inseparable.
Everything Jiang Lai and Shen Ruxue now possessed was thanks to each other’s help.
In the end, Shen Ruxue had been away from them for too long and gradually could no longer understand what went on in their hearts.
In the past, she had clearly been the one who understood them best, but now she could only watch as an outsider, unable even to openly acknowledge them.
While Shen Ruxue was growing anxious and uneasy, a delicate and tender voice that made one’s heart tremble sounded from the next office.
“Yingyu, I’m already warm enough now. You don’t need to keep holding me like this.”
From the moment she entered the office, Jiang Lai had been held in her sister-in-law’s arms like a doll.
Her sister-in-law’s embrace was warm. Her body, which had been cold, became much warmer in her sister-in-law’s arms.
The air conditioning might have given her air-con sickness, but being held and warmed by her sister-in-law’s body heat brought an indescribable comfort.
If it were just a hug, a moment would be enough, but even after both of them felt a little hot, Chi Yingyu still had no intention of letting go.
Right now, the posture between the two was a bit strange.
Chi Yingyu was sitting properly in her office chair, while Jiang Lai was straddling her sister-in-law’s lap like a seductive fox spirit.
If Jiang Lai’s clothes had been a bit more revealing—like a pencil skirt or a pretty short skirt—her current posture would have been incredibly alluring.
Chi Yingyu usually picked clothes for convenience, mostly gender-neutral outfits that looked natural on both men and women.
But now, she regretted not having a few sexy, cute outfits. If her brother-in-law wore them, she could feast her eyes.
“But I haven’t hugged you enough yet, brother-in-law. You have no idea how busy and exhausted I just was—I was so tired I could barely catch my breath.”
Chi Yingyu’s voice was coy, just like a child acting spoiled, and Jiang Lai was a sucker for this sort of thing.
With her sister-in-law complaining and acting cute, how could she, as an elder, not give the response she deserved?
Jiang Lai didn’t want to become someone useless, so whenever she could be of use, she tried her best to show her value.
Her sister-in-law acted spoiled and complained to her because she depended on her and trusted her enough to express it.
So she absolutely couldn’t let her sister-in-law down.
The Jiang Lai who had just been resisting this posture gradually became proactive, gently wrapping her arms around Chi Yingyu and softly caressing her sister-in-law’s slender back.
“Clothes are really such a nuisance.”
Chi Yingyu, holding the soft Jiang Lai in her arms, desperately wanted to strip off all the clothes on Jiang Lai, to bare her original form and feel her direct warmth and softness.
“Brother-in-law always has that unique scent.” Chi Yingyu wanted to say she was addicted to it and couldn’t get enough, and that if she didn’t smell it for a day, she’d have serious withdrawal.
Chi Yingyu was already completely addicted to Jiang Lai, but if she said these things out loud, she might scare her adorable brother-in-law.
“What scent could it be? We use the same shampoo and body wash. If you ask me, sister-in-law, you smell just like me. The two of us smell exactly the same.”
As if to prove her point, Jiang Lai gently sniffed Chi Yingyu’s scent, hugging her sister-in-law’s waist to keep herself from falling during the whole process.
Chi Yingyu, seeing Jiang Lai leaning into her embrace, held her by the waist to keep her from slipping to the floor, and took the initiative to kiss Jiang Lai’s neck.
She bit down lightly on her fair, delicate skin, nibbling gently with her teeth and leaving a conspicuous red mark.
Jiang Lai felt a warm tongue licking the skin of her neck, the sensation sending a shiver through her—moist, a little cool, yet the tongue itself was burning hot.
This strange feeling of being bitten made Jiang Lai tremble all over, and she couldn’t help but let out a tempting gasp.
Why did her sister-in-law act like a little biting kitten?
“It hurts a little…”
