(Player has leveled up and gained Ability Points.)
(Player can use the Camera to upgrade.)
“Huh?” Xu Bei had barely taken a few steps when a string of notifications suddenly appeared before his eyes.
He picked up the Camera at his waist, surprised that this thing actually had a function?
The Camera’s Flash unfolded, but the Lens Cap still wouldn’t unscrew, though the System prompted him to put his eye up to it.
“Big baby alert, is this broken System designed for players who are all idiots or something?”
Of course, Xu Bei knew how to use a Camera, but why wouldn’t the Lens Cap come off? Which pig-nosed designer came up with this genius idea?
[Character – Unfilial Son] Abilities:
Stamina: 10 (Increases the character’s health.)
Muscle: 7 (Increases the character’s damage.)
Spirit: 5 (Increases the character’s mana bar.)
So this Suffer Adventure Virtual Game character only had three attributes.
Even a newbie like Xu Bei found it a bit odd. It wasn’t as if he’d never played video games before. Usually, there would be a whole list of stats to add points to.
Things like health, stamina, strength, intelligence, spirit, speed, dexterity—a whole pile of attributes, with dozens of playstyles for Players to choose from.
So why did the Virtual Game’s stats become so simple now? Why were there no speed or dexterity attributes anymore?
The reason was simple: this is a Real Name System Virtual Game.
It scans the Player, not only reading all the Player’s information, but even simulating the Player’s physical condition.
Whatever actions the Player can perform, whatever kind of punch they can throw, it all depends on the Player’s own skills—something the Virtual Game can’t change.
So the game can’t increase the Player’s movement speed, physical dexterity, or reaction time; all those depend on the Player’s own qualities.
Game attributes can only increase the damage the Player deals to monsters, which is the [Muscle] attribute.
Then there’s the Player’s health—add points to [Stamina].
Finally, there’s the mana for using game skills—add points to [Spirit].
Xu Bei thought for five seconds, then dumped all his Ability Points into Muscle.
He didn’t even count how many points he had—he just went all-in on offense.
(Streamer, what kind of playstyle is this)
(All offense!)
(Muscle!)
(This ruthless?)
(Strength)
(Streamer’s still excited)
(Show-off)
(Wait, you’ll die as soon as you step outside)
(Not adding health?)
(BOSS is coming! Streamer, don’t be a clown!)
(Let’s see how you die)
(Streamer, you can do it)
(Streamer’s filial son, reel it in)
(Even a small Streamer has fans licking boots?)
(Disgusting man, don’t make me sick)
(Never seen a woman before?)
(Streamer might not be a woman)
The Audience was stunned by the Streamer’s stat allocation, and the Barrage instantly exploded across the screen—it was just too wild!
At the same time, a wave of contrarian Barrage spammed the chat, relentlessly mocking the Streamer.
There were no Moderators in the Anchor Room of Unfilial Son, so every Audience member could go crazy and speak freely.
Not only could they roast the Streamer, they could even roast each other—the Barrage turned into a dogfight, and the chat environment was downright toxic.
Yet it was precisely this stinky Live Room that was skyrocketing in Heat.
The Livestream Website updated every fifteen minutes, and Unfilial Son Livestream Room jumped up several pages at once.
Turns out Unfilial Son had climbed to first place on the [New Streamer Popularity Growth Chart].
This was a special exposure chart set up by the Livestream Network to help small Streamers get noticed.
Old Streamers couldn’t get on this chart, and Big Streamers weren’t allowed to compete with New Streamers for this Heat—only New Streamers who had been streaming for less than two months could make the list.
“Find me a woman to test my fist on.”
Xu Bei was still completely ignorant of this New Streamer chart; he was already immersed in his Virtual Game.
With all his points in Muscle, Xu Bei was brimming with confidence as he strode boldly down the Corridor of the Abandoned Factory.
By the way, although this Abandoned Factory looked like it could be explored everywhere, in reality, it was a straight path.
Modeling a big open world in a Virtual Game would be a waste of resources.
So on each floor, most Staircases were blocked by Iron Gates—the Player could only walk from one Staircase at one end of the Corridor to the Staircase at the other end.
The rooms inside the Abandoned Factory could be explored, and you could find things like [Medicine] and [Battery].
Speaking of Medicine and Battery, it was worth having a good chat about them.
Yet another chance to criticize some of the Streamer Unfilial Son’s idiotic actions.
Medicine wasn’t a big deal—Xu Bei picked up a lot.
But so far, he hadn’t taken any damage—not once hit by a Jumping Corpse Female Worker. So not using Medicine to heal was understandable, maybe even impressive.
But along the way, he’d also picked up another core item: Battery.
Remember that busted Camera with the Flash?
As long as you load a Battery, the Flash will shine, serving as a makeshift flashlight for the Player for a short time.
Never mind why a DSLR needs a Battery—if the game says it works, then it works.
Each Battery has a set amount of charge; when it’s drained, you swap in a new one.
If you run out of Batteries, the Player has to fight monsters in the dark—a very dangerous situation.
Although this setting wasn’t explained in the System prompt, lots of Barrage in the Live Room liked to offer tips—but, unfortunately, the pig-nosed Streamer Unfilial Son never looked at the Barrage.
So he was always fighting monsters in the dark, shattering the Audience’s understanding of how to play the game.
But considering his earth-shattering move of not taking the starting equipment at the beginning, this really didn’t seem like much anymore—the Audience quickly got used to the Streamer’s antics.
So Streamer Unfilial Son was not only challenging a bare-handed no-damage run, but also a no-Battery, all-darkness run.
It might all be pig-nosed moves, but the Audience just loved to watch.
The Streamer’s Heat was pure, with no bot marketing at all.
Streamer Unfilial Son had now reached the end of the first floor of the Factory, and almost every room along the way had a Factory Girl Zombie No.1.
But compared to the Jumping Corpse Three Sisters encountered at the Factory entrance, these were a hundred times easier to handle. One-on-one, he was basically invincible.
If you had to compare, the Jumping Corpse Three Sisters were even tougher than the first Jumping Corpse Female Supervisor he’d met.
“Three cobblers are better than Zhuge Liang.” Xu Bei continued his sharp commentary.
In this busted Virtual Game, he only feared being mobbed by enemies—he’d never been afraid of a one-on-one fight.
(It’s coming)
(It’s coming!)
(Streamer, prepare to die)
(Break the Streamer)
(Steely gaze)
(Go for it)
(Crush the Streamer)
(Like putting all your points in strength?)
(Streamer still bare-handed? Still showing off?)
(Let’s see how you die)
While the Streamer was still strolling along, the Barrage had already begun another round of celebration.
In fact, most of the Audience watching the Livestream were old hands already familiar with the game’s progression—could there really be any newbies watching?
Well, maybe there were some newbies, but the veterans were definitely the majority.
So many of the Audience already knew where the game’s BOSS would appear, and knew exactly where the hard parts were.
They were just waiting to see the Streamer step right into the trap!
We’re all here to watch the Streamer get crushed and brutalized by the BOSS, just to see his tragic expression!
