After Aiwei was brought to the entrance by the guards, she was handed over to another group of Vampire Clan members.
These were Vampires that Aiwei had never seen before, and their attire was completely different from the Vampires she usually saw in Frothy Castle.
It seemed they served a different Blood Clan Prince.
The guards did not make things difficult for Aiwei, nor did they place any restraints or seals on her, as if they had been given special instructions.
Aiwei was quickly led to the door of a room.
The guards opened the door, and after Aiwei went inside, they closed it again.
With a hint of fear and curiosity, Aiwei examined this room she had never seen before.
This was a bedchamber with a style completely different from Fuluoxi’s rooms.
Hmm… how should she put it.
Aiwei didn’t know how to describe this room; she could only say… it was a bit tacky.
All the furniture in the room was made of pure gold, inlaid with dazzling, luxurious gems that could blind the eyes. And that wasn’t all.
In the direction Aiwei was looking, there was a small hill over a meter high.
This was also the first time Aiwei had seen a literal mountain of gold and silver.
Calling it a mountain of gold and silver wasn’t enough, because the things here were worth far more than that.
Aiwei believed that anything from this room could feed an entire family for a year if taken outside.
Even the room’s lights were some kind of magical craftwork, but compared to the lights in Fuluoxi’s rooms, they were much dimmer—probably because the owner also found them a bit too glaring.
After all, with so many reflective surfaces.
Aiwei secretly grumbled in her heart, but she didn’t see the room’s owner.
She stood in place, glancing around. After about a minute, a flash of violet appeared before Aiwei’s eyes.
When Aiwei saw this shade of violet, she couldn’t help but recall Fuluoxi’s black long hair and her cold, chilling aura.
But she quickly pushed Fuluoxi out of her mind, because she recognized the person from the color.
It was Emilia!
“Hi, little one.” Emilia, not acting like a Prince at all, waved at Aiwei and greeted her.
Aiwei didn’t know what the other party wanted, so she could only return the greeting stiffly.
The scene froze awkwardly for a moment; Aiwei didn’t know what to say, nor what Emilia wanted from her.
After all, the Blood Clan Princes all had different tempers—even just dealing with Fuluoxi’s mood swings was enough to keep Aiwei on her toes.
Who knew what kind of temper this Blood Clan Prince had? If she accidentally angered her, dying would be only natural.
“Don’t be so nervous, little Aiwei, don’t be afraid. I’m not like Fuluoxi—I won’t hurt you.”
Emilia waved her hand, her charming voice ringing in Aiwei’s ear, making her shiver unconsciously.
“Recently, Fuluoxi seems to like you a lot. She only drinks your blood now.”
“Even when I tried to invite Fuluoxi to drink my special blood beverage, she refused. It really broke my heart.”
“Although I added a little something extra to it, that’s not a reason for her to turn me down, right?” Emilia rambled on to herself.
Added a little something… Only a ghost would dare drink that.
Hearing this mischievous Blood Clan Prince, Aiwei couldn’t help but complain inwardly.
“Alright, alright, I won’t beat around the bush with you. I came to find you because I want to make a deal.”
Emilia bent down, leaning in close to Aiwei, her violet eyes locking onto Aiwei’s as she enunciated each word:
“I want information on Fuluoxi. In exchange, I can help you escape from Fuluoxi, leave here, and return to the Violet Empire.”
Aiwei’s pupils shrank sharply. Almost instinctively, she replied.
“Sorry, I can’t agree to that request.”
“I won’t run away, nor do I want to return to the Violet Empire.”
Aiwei had no idea what this Prince was thinking.
But she never trusted things that fell from the sky, let alone when they came from a Vampire, especially a Prince.
A Blood Clan Prince suddenly calling you over and telling you she’ll help you escape—Aiwei could tell something was fishy with just her toes.
Maybe this was just a test of her loyalty.
If she answered wrong and Fuluoxi found out, her life would be forfeit.
“Aiya, don’t be so quick to refuse.” Emilia said in an exaggerated tone, reaching to pat Aiwei’s head.
But Aiwei instinctively turned her head aside, dodging Emilia’s hand. By the time Aiwei realized it, she had already done so.
Emilia didn’t get angry at Aiwei’s reaction. As if nothing had happened, she simply withdrew her hand.
Her expression didn’t change in the slightest.
“I guess you’re wondering if I’m here to test you, aren’t you?”
Aiwei didn’t answer, but her eyes said everything.
“Alright, alright, I get it.” Emilia shrugged helplessly and sighed.
“I want to kill Fuluoxi.”
The nonchalant, devil-may-care attitude Emilia had vanished completely, and the words she spoke sent shockwaves through Aiwei’s heart.
“You probably don’t know, so I’ll keep it simple.”
“For us Vampires, there are two ways to replace the Chief Speaker—one, kill the current Chief Speaker directly; two, wait for their term to end.”
“But our Vampire lifespans are very long. Each time the Speaker is replaced, it’s almost always by killing the previous one. That’s how Fuluoxi rose to power.”
“And I want you to find out Fuluoxi’s weaknesses and tell me, and also help me slip her a drug that will weaken her before the battle.”
“As long as you do this, I’ll help you leave here.”
Aiwei listened silently to Emilia’s words, gaining a rough understanding of the Vampire’s parliamentary system.
She could only think… it was pretty primitive.
But Aiwei didn’t respond to Emilia. She just looked quietly at her with clear eyes.
“Sorry…”
Aiwei opened her mouth, but before she could finish, Emilia pressed a finger to her lips, stopping her.
“It’s fine, you can take your time and think about it.”
“I’ll come find you again in three days. You can give me your answer then.”
“Big sister here is the most trustworthy of all—I’d never deceive anyone.”
Aiwei pressed her lips together, saying nothing, and was escorted by the guards back to the courtyard where the Blood Slaves spent their leisure time.
In her mind, Emilia’s words echoed again and again, stirring Aiwei’s heart.
Escape.
Her first goal upon arriving in this world now seemed to have a glimmer of hope.
Originally, in Aiwei’s plan, she thought she couldn’t escape until she had thoroughly scouted the Vampire Castle.
Aiwei didn’t know how much of Emilia’s words she could trust. After all, with Fuluoxi as an example of someone who could go back on her word, there was always the risk of being tricked.
At that moment, footsteps sounded again from the courtyard gate.
This time, the newcomer was a Vampire Aiwei knew well.
“Miss Aiwei, the Prince has summoned you.” Liya said.
