“Because… isn’t that man quite powerful?”
Celthina tilted her head, her voice carrying a hint of a teasing smile. “I mean that Mr. Lynn whom little Keti is always clinging to. If he is there, it’s impossible for anything to happen to her, right?”
“Urk… You, you, you! What are you saying?! You’re not allowed to say that Keti sticks to Lynn like that! Keti… she, she, she should be the one clinging to me! That’s how it’s supposed to be! Wah—”
Hearing Celthina’s words, even the purple-haired jellyfish-haired lady, who had been cowering just a moment ago, couldn’t hold it back anymore.
She immediately began to protest against the Lord Regent right then and there.
Meanwhile, Sylvia seemed to have not lost her composure yet. She knew very well that this woman was simply provoking her, and that such a provocation might even be subconscious.
‘This girl… this girl…’
“Hah, what are you talking about? That Lynn… while it’s true he has some skill, in the end, he’s just a teacher at the Magic Academy. How can that guarantee Keti’s safety?”
The green-haired elf miss stared intently at Celthina before speaking harshly.
“You brought the two of them here, yet you, an Archon, won’t accompany them inside. You clearly have no intention of ensuring their safety!”
“Celthina, what are you thinking? As the leader of the elf tribe, have you forgotten such important regulations regarding guests who visit the fairy forest?!”
Thus, it was impossible for Sylvia not to suspect the worst intentions. “You clearly want to send Keti to her death… Hmph, I don’t have time to play games with you.”
“Send me in immediately, otherwise… if anything happens to that child, I… I’ll make you pay with your life!”
“Yeah! Pay with your life! Pay with your life!”
Standing to the side, the Priestess couldn’t help but worry for Keti as well. She hadn’t expected things to develop this way—her little Keti had actually been set up by the mage archon!
It was terrifying. Fortunately, she had such a reliable comrade like Sylvia. Even Layla’s own emotions became quite heated, giving her the courage to challenge the archon!
“Hmm?”
Unfortunately, that confidence did not truly belong to the purple-haired lady herself. *Urk…* After being glared at by Celthina, Layla immediately turned pale with fear and went back to shivering in the corner.
“Hoo… Sylvia, I think you’re slightly leafing through Mr. Lynn’s capabilities. Why do you think I must go in? Hasn’t… a Lord Regent already accompanied Miss Keti? Don’t you know?”
“Huh?!”
The jellyfish-haired lady and the elf miss both let out a bewildered cry of surprise at the same time. Then, Layla was the first to rush forward, asking in disbelief:
“You… you… what did you say? What do you mean by that? Who… who is staying by Miss Keti’s side? archon… what do you mean by archon?”
“Hahaha… I must be overthinking it, right? Does Lord Celthina have something like an Avatar Art? Your avatar accompanied little Keti into the Temple, right?!”
Clearly, the Priestess was still holding onto a bit of wishful thinking. However, Sylvia was much more composed. She simply looked at the woman before her in silence for a long moment before she frowned and asked:
“Are you saying that Lynn is one of the Five Archons?”
“Hmph, it seems the children of our Elf Tribe are still the clever ones.”
Celthina nodded, confirming Sylvia’s statement. However, this confirmation was the last thing Sylvia or Layla wanted to hear.
‘What is she… what is she saying? How could that be possible…’
‘If Lynn really is an archon, then… is my husband going to be snatched away by an archon?!’
‘What kind of script is this? The incompetent wife, the useful husband, and the powerful archon?’
‘This… this… *urk*… Can I even compete with someone like Lynn?! No! My little Keti… wahhh—’
The easily-fooled Priestess’s eyes instantly welled up with tears. Layla felt like she was about to burst into a sob. What should she do?
What could she do? If an Archon of the Empire really wanted to compete with her for her husband, then…
She had never even considered such a fantastical scenario!
She had at least considered that some high-ranking nobility might try to snatch Keti away from her, and that she and Keti would have to endure a series of difficult trials together before remaining steadfast in their bond! That was the kind of script she expected…
But competing with a powerhouse like that for a man… *wahhh*… the world is going to ruin, morality is dead, what am I supposed to do?!
While the Priestess was wallowing in her own helplessness, Sylvia remained unwilling to give up. She gritted her teeth and shouted in frustration:
“Impossible! Who… which archon would act as an ordinary teacher at the Magic Academy? He’s so obscure that even the other teachers in the same grade don’t respect or recognize him! Keti even got bullied because of it. Stop talking nonsense and trying to deceive us!”
“Hmm? Well… that’s true…”
Seeing that the girl still hadn’t given up, Celthina chuckled lightly and tilted her head.
“Indeed, I don’t quite understand why Lynn did that either. I heard he was originally just a teacher. After becoming an Archon… he probably wanted to experience a different life.”
“Back when his duties as an Archon were quite leisurely, he specifically disguised himself as an ordinary person to teach at the Magic Academy.”
“Because he is an Archon, the Magic Academy went along with his nonsense. Aside from a few of the archon’s confidants within the academy, almost no one knows that he is the mysterious Hunter Consul. Of course, that includes you two, who have been kept in the dark until now.”
“You… you’re saying he is the hunter consul?! *Urk*…”
Hearing the other party speak in such detail, Sylvia began to feel a sense of doubt creeping into her heart. Why did it feel more and more real the more she heard? Is it… is it true? Could this be right?
“Heh heh, that’s right. Otherwise, do you think I would let an ordinary Magic Academy teacher handle a crisis involving the entire Elf Tribe?”
“Would I let two people with insufficient strength enter the Temple? Would I… care so much about you, Sylvia?”
Celthina gave a cold smile before suddenly pulling a document from her pocket and handing it to Sylvia.
“It seems you still don’t believe me. Then… please take a look at this. This is the official appointment document from the magic tower council regarding the archon.”
“I happened to bring a copy. If you still don’t believe it, you can go ask those high-level officials at the magic tower. You should be able to contact at least a few of them, right? Pfft… besides, don’t you already have the answer in your heart?”
“That man’s strength is very likely above yours. After clashing with him a few times, haven’t you already had a premonition?!”
“Urk, this…”
Sylvia looked at the appointment document in front of her and couldn’t help but gasp. Then, her face gradually turned pale.
What was she supposed to do now?!
